    Purchased At:Came w/ SC Nomad
Strengths:Stiff, No leaks, Air Stays forever, Good Suspension, Absorbs Bumps Better than my Fox Van 36. Good All mountain Fork. Perfect match w/ the Sc Nomad.
    Weaknesses:None
    Similar Products Used:Van 36, Talas 36
    Bike Setup:SC Nomad All Mountain
Bottom Line:I love the lock out button, great overall performance. Sturdy design. I have a van 36 on my other bike, but i love how the Lyric absorbs the bumps and jumps. More stable, in my own opinion...

Strengths:Stiff, easy to adjust feels smooth. Super tough. The Maxel is easy to use and seems stiff. It's hard to believe how much abuse this thing has taken. Rain sand portage on my car. It still works great.
Weaknesses:Lower has gotten sticky and needs cleaning occasionally.
Similar Products Used:Bomber, Duke, Maverick DUC, Fox Talus 36

Bottom Line:Best fork I have used to date. My friends hate it, because I fly on the DH. This fork has totally changed my riding style. I was riding a Duke and I went out on the Fox and thought "this is almost the same" but the Lyrik is in another league. I was worried about getting a longer travel fork to climb with but the lock out works great. I went down a local rock field and kept going over bigger and bigger drops. I still haven't found the limits of this fork. It took me a couple of rides to get the damping correct but once I got in range I instantly became very comfortable with the fork. I have ridden 8" travel bikes and I don't think they are as good as this rig.

Bike Setup:Turner Six Pack, Lyric, RP23, XT, Avid Codes dah da dah.....
Bottom Line:So far this is a sick fork. I will try to be as detailed as i can for all you guys (and gals).
I have been running Marz for the past 6yrs. I had Rock Shox before that(Judy). I have tried Fox in there a little as well.
(The only problem I had with Fox was no lock out of any kind on their bigger forks.)
i had been running a Marz AM1 for 3.5yrs. It was a pretty good fork. No leaks, ran smooth ( but not amazing), I liked all the terrain adjustment, and loved the lock out. What I didn't like was it was clunky, noisy, and hard to service. So I decided to get a new fork.
I shopped and found that my three options for a "all mountain fork" were Rock Shox Lyric , Marz 55 ATA , or Fox 36.
I had a Marz already twice before. they were good, but not always great. The Fox was out because there is no lock out of any sort on the 36. So the Lyric was standing out. Coincidentally, I had bought some Avid Code brakes 6mo earlier and I love them. Also RS Cust serv is top notch. i had some squealing issues and they were all over it with new pads, rotors, whatever I needed.
Speaking of Cust Serv. I called all three about there forks. Marz guys sounded irritated that I was bothering them. Fox was alright but they said I was strange for wanting a lockout on a 6.5 inch fork. Rock Shox had TWO techs call me back to answer my questions. Sent me detailed info on service and internal workings. Really really excellent CS.
I figured if they had done a great job designing the brakes, then, supported them this well, the Lyric was probably a good choice.
The only thing I was worried about was the travel adjust. I thought I needed 130-140mm. This fork is only adj from the inside. I had trav adj on my Marz and rarely used it. almost never. I decided it was OK to have to disassemble the fork to set it up once then forget about it.
    I ordered the Lyric.
Now the good stuff starts. This fork is amazing.
It took 5 minutes to set it up. (I was F-ing with may Marz till the day i took it off my bike) I opened the manual. used the psi they recommended and voile!, perfect. It has Pos and Neg air chambers. the fork auto adusts.
I was worried about 160mm travel ( i Thought I only needed 130-140) but I found that the fork @160mm is as short as my old Marz @140mm. So more travel for the same geo. beautiful!

The ride is really amazing. It controls dive and bob so well that even with 160mm I have no problem running it as a CC fork. I used to think people were crazy for wanting plush and a controlled ride. I thought you couldn't have both. Man was I wrong. It is weird, it doesn't feel as "plush" in the parking lot as my old marz, but I have way more control, a much smoother ride, and better climbs on the trail. This thing motors through everything.
The flood gate is great as well. I commute 20 miles a day on this rig. The flood gate is not a full lock out. which is nice. You can adj it to where you want it ( almost fully locked out).
when the flood gate is on, the first 1/2" is smooth, so ruts, bumps, curbs, feel fine. When you stand and push, the fork resists and firms up a lot. It will also settle (Lower) a little which is great for climbing. I just did a 55mile road race on it with no problems.
The switch from lock to open is very easy to operate when riding 1/4 turn open 1/4 turn close.
the High and Low speed compression settings make a big difference. The adj are hard to feel while sitting still and bouncing, but are very very noticeable on the trail.
The high/ low adjustment are a beautiful thing too. I have the fork set to gobble up all the baby head rocks on the flats, and firmed up on the high speed side for downhills. It works great! I have nothing to mess with, I just ride.
So far i am totally stoked with this fork. I highly recommend it. Also, it should be noted that if you are looking for a new fork. this one can be spaced from 110 to 160mm. This would be a sick fork on a 4-5" bike.
Another big deciding factor for this purchase was that PUSH is supporting the Rock Shox line. not the Fox 36 or the Marz stuff. so when the time comes PUSH can tune it and make it even better.
lastly the Maxle is just great too.

Bottom Line:this fork has met my every need. it is adjustable for any weight and is extremely light, at just 5 pounds with a cut steerer tube. to me it outperforms any fork i've tried like it like the marzocchi 55 and the magura wotan. it is unbelievably smooth and has all the adjustability i could ever want for every terrain out there, including uphill.
