Bottom Line:Excellent fork as long as you don't use it for regularly dropping off cliffs. Use it within its limitations and it will perform extremely well and last ages. Stiff, but that's what I like :o)
    Servicing is easy.
You wouldn't use a static rope for rock climbing!

Strengths:Very strong fork, swapped a Marzocci Z3 Bomber for it. It is very rigid, and doesn't bottom out easily.
    Weaknesses:None

Bike Setup:Airborne Corsair titanium frame, Vuelta bomber rims, Bontrager bars/cranks/stem, Deore XT
Bottom Line:As an ex soldier weighing 250 pounds at less than 10% body fat, I need very strong components. This is a very good fork, very strong. it makes my Ti-ride very lively, and lightning quick. This is good for a "Clydesdale", but a lightweight rider may find this too stiff of a fork to use the travel this thing offers.

    Similar Products Used:Judy C
Bike Setup:This fork came stock on my 2005 Trek 4500
    Bottom Line:
The Judy C that came with my previous Trek was a little too soft. I never had any problems with either fork, but I prefer the stiffness of the TT. Yes, I'm a rigid fork fan.

The weight of the fork didn't noticeably affect any of my riding, even hillclimbs and sprinting.

I weigh nearly 200 lbs. and it never bottomed out.

I'll give it only 4 flaming piles because it's not a true rigid fork.

Strengths:Good shock absorbtion, haven't bottomed out yet, that i have noticed. I hit some big stuff and am always worried i am going to kill myself in mid air then am pleased when i land and live ride another day. Tough
Weaknesses:Heavy 5lbs hard to do manuals with that much weight
Similar Products Used:first pair of shox seems fine to me.
Bike Setup:Ironhorse sonic 03, rock shox judy tt, xt derailers.
Bottom Line:If you have judy tt's or want to get some then i would suggest if cost is an issue the go for it, if you can afford a bit more find something lighter you will thank yourself for it.

Beat the mud right out of them and are holding up fine for me.
160lbs. Started freeriding and some aggressive trail riding not to mention some trials stuff. Getting better everyday. If i could shave weight anywhere it would be the shox.

If you are new to biking you should have judy's at least not that suntour stuff.

    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Purchased At:Craig's List
    Strengths:Excellent ride for the price.
Durable, handles 3 ft drops solidly,(I'm 180lbs), little flex, smooths out rough terrain as well as more expensive shocks.
Weaknesses:Adjustment limited, a bit heavy, travel seems less than promised 80mm, dampening of small bumps limited.
Similar Products Used:Manitou SX, Marz, department store junk
Bike Setup:Trek 4500, stock Deore shifter, Alivio derailers, Bontrager tires.
Bottom Line:I think this is very good value. Don't seek Porche performance from a Chevy. It's a solid, functional shock for the money. So far, it takes a bumpin' and keeps right on humpin'. Good for beginner to weekend intermediate.

Strengths:Came with bike, perhaps flashy Rock Shox logo?
Weaknesses:Terribly stiff, performance is severely weather limited. Adjustments do not work for squat of course. Heavy too, making manuals or other fancy things a rather tricky buisness
Similar Products Used:Marzocchi Dirt Jumper3, SID TEAM, Psylo

Bottom Line:Well, it came with my Giant Yukon 02/03 which has served me well so far. Use it everyday to school, has about 2000-3000km on it. Can be used for the longer trips 70~90km, however it is a rather USELESS fork. Fits the street riding (literally, to and from the library), but otherwise I wouldn't dare call this a fork!

Anyone must be out of their minds to pay money for this, ruins the idea of "fork".

    Weaknesses:Nothing

Strengths:Well... The paint's tough, it gets attention, it hasn't bottomed out on me yet, and it's doing its job, and it's easy to service. Durable!
Weaknesses:It's heavy, it flexes quite a bit, and the preload is so hard to adjust... And the performance varies with temperature.
Similar Products Used:Rockshox Judy C, XC, and TT 100. Rockshox Duke. RST crap. Manitou black, Manitou Magnum.
Bike Setup:Mongoose (yea, i know, real crappy huh? but it's the only frame that has taken my abuse so far) Solution frame. Alivio/Deore Drivetrain, Rockshox Judy TT 80mm up front.
Bottom Line:I most ride XC, tight twisty singletrack, the flex pisses the hell out of me on these, but atleast it's dependable. I've put well over 1000 miles on these forks and they're still going. I don't hit the really big stuff, but I'm very light (less than 110 lbs with all my gear) so I can get away with some of the abuse. I jump gaps on staircases, I've hit a couple 6 footers, and I do some dirtjumping with these. I've never bottomed out the forks. Due to flex and variation in performance I give it 4 chilis in overall rating, and since it's so cheap and better than the RST crap and the Manitou Magnum, I give it 5 in value.

Bike Setup:Gary Fisher Wahoo - stock except for pedals
Bottom Line:These people crack me up. This is the bottom of the barrel, rock bottom of the Rock Shox lineup and they expect it to perform like the top-of-the-line model. I'll bet these same people go four-wheeling in a Toyota Camry and then curse Toyota for not making a better vehicle.

I do single-track riding with lots of roots and not much downhill. This shock performs just fine for me and I'm 190 lbs. It's not meant for huge drop-offs and I don't take it down any. I bought my first mountain bike 13 years ago and have been riding it up until I got the Wahoo. 13 years ago they didn't have shocks. So even the little bit of travel the Judy TT gives feels pretty comfortable to me. I haven't bottomed it out yet and I do some pretty hard riding. For the price of this thing, it gives you every penny worth, but keep in mind it's only a beginner shock.

Strengths:Looks half decent apart from that nothing!!!
Weaknesses:The judy xc promise 100mm travel, however at most i only ever got 50mm. From the day i got them they have been leaking oil from top and bottom. the seals bust almost every 8hrs and they will stop working completley unless oil is changed on a basis of about 15 hrs. When u land they make a horrible screaching noise as though something aint right inside em. The rebound adjuster must be there only for looks it has no purpose. For a once reputable brand rockshox have taken a turn for the worst supplying worse than ever products. Not to mention lack of tech support

Bottom Line:The bottom line is that they were never as promised. even after numeruos services and lots of money spent. Weaknesses:Heavy. Only 2-3 inches tops of realistic travel.
Bike Setup:Stock fork on my Trek 4500
Bottom Line:I think the reviewer below is smoking crack big time. These are not the best forks for under $300--they are strictly a solid beginner's fork. I have no real complaints. Mine has held up to 3-4 rides a week for a year now with no problems. However, the preload knob is difficult to turn, and the realistic travel is minimal. Sometimes I feel like I'm riding on a rigid fork. It doesn't have a very quick recovery time, so a washboard section makes the fork feel stiff. I'm riding a $400 Trek, so I'm not complaining, but calling this fork "really great" is a stretch.
