Strengths:
Great starter fork, manages to take a lot of punishment as i got into some pretty hard cross country quickly. As i said, it takes a beating and copes with sudden bumps very well for a 80mm fork.
Weaknesses:
The dials on the forks do not seem to make much difference, that's part of the reason i've just bought the latest fox f100x with terralogic.

Dawes Edge Comp which was bought for just under $1000 - upgrades are Hope Mono M4's which are kickass !! Cane Creek S6 Headset (so it continues to take a wallop), and my new addition the latest fox f100x with terralogic: to be tested tomorrow, can't wait...
Bottom Line:
I've had a great 6 months out of these forks and think any new mtb er would be trilled with these and really get the chance to get into mtb ing.

Well the price was right. My buddy is a gear freak and let this go for pennies.
Weaknesses:
Haven't found any yet. Mind you, I had my bike set up for commuting with a rigid aluminum fork for the last five years!
Alright, I got a steal on this fork so my opinion is a bit biased (not to mention the fact that I've been riding a rigid fork on the street for five years)! This fork does the job. It's stiff, not too heavy, seems to be bombproof. I mess with it once in a while and change the pressure, rebound, etc. to see what it does but I haven't found a setting I can't deal with. This fork is perfect for the rider that isn't too concerned with weight (ignore my Thomson stuff, Avid Ti's etc......like I said, my buddy is a gear freak and I get this stuff cheap from him) and just want's something that works.
You know, when it comes right down to it it's all about your skill and finesse as a rider. No fork (or bike setup) is going to make you a god! I hold my own with friends and they ride every day while I get out on the trails maybe two days a week with the rest on road (commuting).

Strengths:
Almost free mantunence great ride once you tune it to your taste easy to tune. Its a tank!

Bottom Line:
Its a great fork to come with a new bike not the best and not with all the features but a great fork. I even enter some competition with it and never has left me down!

It's obvious that the previous people didn't write a serious review. That's why i guve this one 5 chilis for value and overall rating, to raise the average rating a bit.
It's a great fork. If you want a bit more comfort, try to set a lower psi than described in the manual. It reacts very good to fast and hard bumps, and the rebound is perfect.
Try to find a setting that gives enough comfort, but avoid the pumping-effect. Try to avoid the fork to reach its limit. If it does to much, raise the psi.
I think this fork is quite similar to the other Duke's, maybe it's a bit more stiff.
The fork came with my bike, but if you have this one, you shouldn't be thinking about changing it. It's a good fork, especially for people that are making a lot of tours. Maybe it's even a good fork for the beginning racer, because of it stiffness, but pro-racers should go to the SID's I think

I think Rock Shox put out this stinker bike companies can put other cool stuff on a bike and sell them under 2 grand. Serious riders who care will swap the shock out. I'm getting the fox float RLC.

Strengths:
well i used this fork once and it was pretty stiff, good for fat riders like myself, i weigh near 300 pounds, and if the d*mn frok cant support me, there is a problem, so the only time i used this duke fork, it seemed pretty stiff, when it comes down to it, thats all i care about

i guess the weight... oh and the price, thats why i didnt buy it
