    Favorite Trail:anything fast
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $200.00
    Purchased At:some kid at school
Strengths:flippin sweet. i love em, i went from Manitou Splice Comp. forks, i liked the comps, but these r better. instead of 7" of travel, i moved it up to 8.5. i had i compressed all the way, with a machine of course. they r in rough shape, on the out side, but finom. on the inside. they are true for what they look like. the kid rode into a parked truck and knocked the plate on the casing off, but did no damage, thank god, he had em on a norco kompressor(hartail), and busted hus front hub off a tenfoot drop. i love em, my biggest drop is 6.5 feet. the 2 diff. coils in each side really keeps it from bottoming out
Weaknesses:hard to tighten in the head of a bike, but that could be just me. fairly heave, compared to the comps. but thats normal
Similar Products Used:Rock Shox Judy 1, Manitou Splice Comp(love them too)
Bike Setup:Giant AC, front wheel- sun rims single track. back wheel shimano mavic. bars-EA50 with hussefelt-truvativ stem. Kenda Nevengal front tire, Kenda Blue Groove back tire. rear der. Shimano Deore, e.13 chain guide. race face BB. race face headset, bontrager crank arms, 50-50 pedals, hayse disc brakes, 8" front and back(hyro.) titanium custom chain, rear shock- rock shox Vivid
Bottom Line:love it, works like...well better than anything ive tried.

Favorite Trail:whare u get big air
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Purchased At:though support
Strengths:this fork is wicked has the rebound adjustment very handy and low and highspeed adjustment i wish they were knobs u have to use the 3mm alan key thought the 5mm axel bolt to adjust them starting to ware down my alan key i adjusting the fork all the time to the riding i do gets to be a pain should put knobs like on the shiver or psylo to adjust the rebound and the low speed compression and another one for the high speed compression u have to take to lower bolt out to do that and a easyer way to for adjust the preload but its not that hard it would just save time. but this fork has been solid for me havnt noticed much flex like other peolpe say there is i found the 02 to have more flex. i dunno what that last guy was talking about he must of had a bad fork from factory or something 2 rides and leaking thats not right. your probley the 1-1000 that got unlucky.
Weaknesses:it was a b*tch to get the drop crown on properly wouldnt fit right..had to preswade it with a rubber mallet. those rubber stopers are unless for my bike the drop crown hits the frame i wraped some rubber tape around my frame to protect it works good. and the stachions are turning color cause of the oil..

Bike Setup:2 wheels a fork a frame and chain and other important things
Bottom Line:well for what it was built for DH Racing i'd say its one of the best out there whats everyone race on mostly BoXXer's or Dorados mostly Boxxers though very nice racing fork. so ill have to give it 5*'s also casue that last guy such a bad review for such a good fork gotta get the points back up.

    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Purchased At:Local Bike shop
    Strengths:None
Weaknesses:Where to start, this shock starting leaking oil after two rides then some of the internals crapped out still waiting for a replacement part from Rock Shox after 4 weeks.
Similar Products Used:1999 Boxxer, Boxxer Race, Dorado
    Bike Setup:Giant Team DH
Bottom Line:I thought I would give Rock Shox a try I had a 99 Boxxer that required oil changes after every 15 hours of riding or it would seize up completly due to metal filings in the oil. I figured after a few years they would be better so I tried a 2003 Race, it was awfull no rebound damping to speak of and poor construction. So I figured let's get a 2003 Team that must be better right, wrong more problems and lousy customer service from Rock Shox. Bottom line this company is going down fast, looks like they are putting their money on sponsoring well known riders so they can get publicity instead of putting the money into their products. And if you think that Steve Peat is riding
the same Boxxer that get from them, think again I doubt that any part of his so called Boxxer is in the one you bought. Do yourself a favour and get a Dorado that's what I have been on while I wait for my Rock Shoxx parts.
Manitou service support has been amazing so far. Anyone want to buy my peice of crap Boxxer

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $600.00
    Purchased At:Bicycles Alameda (RIP)
Strengths:fully adjustable, light weight, low maintnece.
Weaknesses:Internal highspeed compression and preload adjustments not external, the range of adjustment for the compression (low speed and high) and the rebound is very limited. The two options that you have for top crowns, tall or short, are either too tall or to short if you have around a 5" tall head tube, I bought both and neither fit right so I got a Romic top clamp because it is between the hight of the two choices from Rock Shox. It fit perfect and it looks better.
Bike Setup:Haro DHR, the full DH setup.
Bottom Line:The boxxer team is a good fork for the money. It is low maintnece, fully adjustable, ligth wheight and it runs great. The only complaints I have are about the range of adjustments and the choices for top clamps. This is a good fork and it works great but I think that it is more geared towards beginner riders that might not know the value of having the perfect amouts of comppression and rebound and the difference it can make. I think this fork will be almost flawless after Romic starts selling internals for it.

    Favorite Trail:Palos
    Duration Product Used:6 months
Strengths:Lightweight. Stealth black. Easy to change oil and springs. Super easy to tune. Easy to get wheel on and off. Very progressive travel. Ramps up just when you need it most at the bottom of the travel. Rebound and Compression are very easy to adjust.
    Weaknesses:None
    Similar Products Used:Dorado, Shiver DC
Bike Setup:V10,Stealth Hubs, Hayes HFX Mag PLUS disc brakes, WTB rims, Weirwolf 2.5 DH tires, Thomson Stem and Post, Tru Vativ Holzfeller Cranks, Shimano XTR drivetrain, WTB Laser V DH saddle, Easton Carbon DH bar, ODI lock ons...
Bottom Line:The single greatest aspect of this fork is that is doesn't require maintainence after each ride. It seems that some of the newer high end DH forks require you to tune them after every practice run. This is great if you have a mechanic sitting down at the bottom waiting for you. If your not Chris Kovarik this can be a problem. The 2003 Boxxer design definately had the privateer in mind. It is a true consumer/enthusiast fork that will perform for the pros. If you want a high end fork that will not cost you extra money down the road then consider a Boxxer.

As far as performance is concerned: I would be hard pressed to find another fork that feels better than this one. I mean there are forks that perform to this level but they cost more and require a mechanic to tune them. It feels great on the Super rough rocky sections as well as the smooth fast sections where you need to get low and corner.

I don't know what the hell you people above have riden before if you think this fork works well. Rumor has it that Romic is working on internals to make this fork work properly! Weaknesses:Rebound adjustment is pretty lame for a DH fork.
    Similar Products Used:Shiver DC
    Bike Setup:03 M1
Bottom Line:Fork is a great deal, great for a freerider or a racer, lots of adjustment. Changing the oil weight is the only way to slow rebound since the adjuster does next to nothing. Rock Shox has it going on except for that. Ti springs would be a nice option too
