$265.00 | | Purchased At: | ebay | | Strengths: | Frame, Cranks, xt deraileur. The frame is pretty beefy, and has comfortable geometry. good welds and beefy tubing. heavy duty. Flight cranks, what else can you say? strong bombproof cranks (heavy though). The XT derailer is a nice touch, but should have been matched to better shifters than stx. | | Weaknesses: | FORKS. rst dual crown something or other... makes strange sucking sound as they compress, and top out very hard, like cannons, like there is no rebound compression at all. ChainGuide: this is the most worthless piece on the bike. it makes lots of noise, does not run smooth, and has about a thousand little allen bolts to adjust it with - which is funny because no matter how much you fiddle, it wont work perfect. SEATPOST: well, it stays in place at the bottom. but the hardware at the top swivels back and forth on the shaft, making you thing your seatclamp is loose. brakes: These tektro things are strange. there is a lot of slop in the levers, but they are comfortable placed. The actual brake flex quite a bit and just feel cheap. | | Similar Products Used: | S&M Dirt bike, Jenson hardtail with lx, various bmx/mountian bikes in my illustrious carreer. | | Bike Setup: | Dually frame, Rst dual crown forks, tioga downhill tires (2.3's), flight cranks, tektro quartz brakes (where'e the quartz?), doulbe wall rims, titec hellbent bars. | | Bottom Line: | The forks are something else. I hated them at first, but now I am getting used to them. this thing as it comes, is a TANK! Flight cranks are nice to have, confidence builders. Chainguide is completely useless. The bike itself rides good, solid. a little strange at first, but if you've got a bmx background at all, you'll be at home on this really fast. I got this primarily for urban riding, and in the 3 weeks I've had it it's held up to 4 ft. drops consistantly, large hulking wall rides, etc.. it goes fakie nice too (backwards) if you're into 180's over stuff. It jumps well, stable in the air, goes where you want it to without too much trouble, tweaks nicely and things like flatties and lookbacks are easier than you would think, despite the weight. -If I had bought this new, I may have been disappointed over the shocks and chainguide. but if you can get one used at a decent price, i'd go for it for cheap intro to street, or for a beater bike. 4 overall for the value (damn chainguide), and 4 for value (should have came with better forks... | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$350.00 | | Purchased At: | e-bay | | Strengths: | Handles like a bananna dream. Strong as hell. Disc brake compatable. Frame geometry is nice. | | Weaknesses: | Front fork is the worst hunk of crap I have ever had. I did a 4' drop and a preload adjuster popped out. Chainguide is craphorrible. | | Similar Products Used: | Specialized stumpjumper, BMX bikes | | Bike Setup: | Sunrim BFR on planet x goliath disc hubs with avid disc brakes. Zoke z4 - very nice | | Bottom Line: | This frame is awesome if you beat the living crap out of your bike. If you used to ride BMX and now want a hardtail MTB get this one. It will take anything you throw at it. I love it and give props to Redline. Just get a different fork and chainguide and you will be set. 4 flamming poo-cakes for value because the fork is an ultimate piece. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$250.00 | | Strengths: | light, strong, stiff. Geometry is perfect for jumping and trail use. The chromo BMX cranks are a big plus, stiff + strong. | | Weaknesses: | Chainguide works, but is a noisy POS | | Similar Products Used: | GT STS, many BMX bikes | | Bike Setup: | X-vert, Avid discs, 1x9 LX/XTR | | Bottom Line: | I bought this used as a frame plus the cranks and chainguide. I love the setup. If you are into BMX and MTB, this is a very fun bike to have, just ditch the cheap fork and chainguide. The frame gets 5 flamers, but the crappy spec brings it's value down. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
