Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $880.00
Purchased At:the full cycle albur
Strengths:everything!!
Weaknesses:I've taken it off a moto-x jump and it snapped the rear of the frame, but that's it, I've completely thrashed this bike to every inch of its life, and it STILL LIVES ON!!!
Similar Products Used:NOTHING LIKE IT!
Bike Setup:Specialized gooseneak, fox float RC rear shock, stock Rock Shox judy, specialized wideboy handlebars, Maxxis Larson TT's Front and rear, Shimano Deore XT Front and rear
Bottom Line:Its like a STP with a rear shock, but it can still be a great XC/Trail bike, overall: its a awesome bike that kicks all others!

Date Reviewed: June 6, 2005
Favorite Trail:Hawes Trail
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $500.00
Purchased At:Indiana
Strengths:The bike balances great and is fun to ride on the trails. The bike is a little heavy but still responds nicely when pushed.
Weaknesses:I have owned this bike for one year and have broken the frame twice. i am mainly a cross-country rider not hitting anything too big and I have still snapped the frame twice in the same spot. If you are a serious rider I would look for a more durable bike that doesn't carry this name.
Similar Products Used:Ironhorse, Motobecane
Bike Setup:Stock with a few wheel upgrades
Bottom Line:Look somewhere else for a more durable bike that can be pushed to the limits.

Submitted by Tony Shifflett a Cross Country Rider from Saginaw,Tx,USA
Date Reviewed: December 18, 2004
Favorite Trail:Anywhere there is dirt
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $500.00
Purchased At:Bicycle Center of Fort Worth
Strengths:Full Deore drivetrain. Mechinical Disc Brakes. Looks sweet. WTB tires and saddle. Kind of on the heavy side, but is a decent trail bike. The frame is built like a tank, with some upgrades it could take on some serious terrain.
Weaknesses:Pedals, Rock Shox Judy Fork seems ago so far, no real problems yet, though I would not dive off nothing to big. Rear shock could be better, bottoms out sometimes if you hit something hard at speed.
Similar Products Used:Trek and Specialized. The same component set up costs hundreds more.
Bike Setup:Deore drivetrain. Easton EA50 seatpost, stem, and handlebar. Shimano clipless pedals. Pro Drip locking grips. WTB tires and saddle.
Bottom Line:I looked at other FS bikes. For the same component set up I would have spent hundreds more. All my friends can't believe how good the bike looks and performs for what I paid for it. With a few upgrades to help out the suspension this bike will be great. If you want a good bike at a great price by one of these. If you need to be seen on a bike for the name on the down tube go elsewhere. If not buy a Raleigh
and use the money you save and buy another bike or upgrades.

Date Reviewed: August 23, 2004
Favorite Trail:Kenosha Farm
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $680.00
Purchased At:Boulder, CO
Strengths:Full suspension with reasonable price. Shimano Deore front/rear derailleurs and shift levers. Cane Creek Headset. Front/rear mechanical disc brakes. Strong frame. Good geometry. Good seatpost, handle bar, and good tires and wheel sets, etc.
Weaknesses:So-so quality bottom bracket, fork (Rockshox Judy TT - bottom line), and Pedal. However, think the price ($679.99). All these are easily upgradable. I have NO complaint.

Bottom Line:Raleigh is the history of the bicycle. This is the first full suspension mountain bike for me. It's somewhat heavier than the hard tails of mine, but I will be get used easily and very soon. This 2004 RAM 2.0 is perfect for cross country riders. The frame is strong and its geometry is excellent. No bobbing when pedaling but react well from the shocks on road. I love it.
