I recently bought the 99 M600. It's really great the handling and weight of this bike. The accesories are great for the price!! The new frame style left my friends with an open mouse. The color: OUTSTANDING gloss black with royal blue on the chainstays. The new Spyder-R fork feels like a bed. All equipment is Shimano 99. i bought a '98 M600 and it rocks except for the cheap rims that potato chipped on me within 1 month of buying the bike. i chuncked the indy and put on a manitou for only $50 more and it rides so much better. i come from gripshift so the rapid fire isn't all i'd hoped (too long a lever throw on the front derrailleur) but the bike climbs and handles excellent. plenty o' room for upgrades. all for less than $900. 4 chilies due to the crappy rims | | Overall Rating: |

how can i go wrong for $350. I got a great deal from the Bike Closet in Bend. I would recommend this to anyone, but you probably won't get such a good deal, sorry. I've been riding this bike for approximately 5 months now. Overall, I'm pleased with the bike. It is a pretty good climber, and it handles beautifully. However, some of the components Raleigh put on the bike are not that great. I've replaced the original wheelset because the rear wheel needed to be trued after each ride. The saddle and seatpost were also replaced because the adjustment screw on the seatpost was stripped after two adjustments, and the saddle's rails were broken. I don't like the STX-RC shifters, so I plan to change them soon. I torture my bike becuase I weigh over 200 punds and the terrain I ride on is rough. I'm not sure if the problems I've had are things that Raleigh can control. Overall, I'm pleased with the bike. I expect that other components will break, and I'll be pissed when I have to replace them. Damn, this sport is expensive. I recommend it to anyone that wants a mid-level bike.
