Date Reviewed: March 19, 2002 | | Duration Product Used: | More than 3 years | | Strengths: | I have both a Merlin built Tomac Frame and a Litespeed built Tomac Frame. The Merlin frame is made with much better quality, the Ti is brushed and the finish between tube junctions is a lot cleaner. Also, the Ti used has a slightly larger diameter. Both bikes ride very similar, very stiff laterally, but vertically compliant to absorb shock. Handling is quick but it is also very stable at speed. Climbs well and is extremely light. The Merlin was built in 1991 but then Litespeed took over in 92-93. | | Weaknesses: | Rocks and flying debris can chip the clear coat over the carbon. | | Similar Products Used: | Clark Kent F-14 Ti
