Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Strengths:I have both a Merlin built Tomac Frame and a Litespeed built Tomac Frame. The Merlin frame is made with much better quality, the Ti is brushed and the finish between tube junctions is a lot cleaner. Also, the Ti used has a slightly larger diameter. Both bikes ride very similar, very stiff laterally, but vertically compliant to absorb shock. Handling is quick but it is also very stable at speed. Climbs well and is extremely light. The Merlin was built in 1991 but then Litespeed took over in 92-93.
Weaknesses:Rocks and flying debris can chip the clear coat over the carbon.
Similar Products Used:Clark Kent F-14 Ti
Barracuda Easton Elite Team
Alpinestars Al-Mega DX
Bike Setup:Specialized FSX Judy, Grafton cranks, XTR gruppo/Grip Shift, Fiberflight spokes with nukeproof carbon hubs and mavic 217 rims. Syncros stem, Control Tech post and Bontrager Ti saddle
Bottom Line:The best Hardtail ever built! Very high cool factor! Handles extremely well in all conditions. It is really a pricey ride.....

Strengths:Carbon Fiber/Titanium frame - What more can you say?
Tioga Revolver crankset, Tioga Disc Drive, Showa-built Tioga fork, XTR (The Original), Tioga blue anodized stuff
Weaknesses:Weaknesses? What the hell is a weakness?
Similar Products Used:1992 Yeti built C-9 Easton team bike (shh...its a secret)
Bike Setup:Find some vintage issues of MBA or MB and check out the Tioga and Raleigh USA ads for yourself...They speak volumes
Bottom Line:This is the PIMPEST hardtail mountain bike ever built...What dipsh*t said it's a 2001? He better find the waaay back machine because it's a 1993!
