    Favorite Trail:Trail 100
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $500.00
    Purchased At:Valley Bike Shop
Strengths:I just got this bike and it is great. I looked a lot in this price range and no other bike had such great components as this. Not even hard tails
Weaknesses:BRAKES. The brakes are the only thing that is a major downgrade for me. I will upgrade these to Deore brakes.
    Bike Setup:Nashbar clipless petals
    Answer shock
    Specialized seat
Bottom Line:This bike is great for an everyday rider. This bike is very sturdy and has great components. You cannot find a bike in this price range with the components this bike has. Both front and rear shock are soft for bigger riders. I recomend changing the springs to heaver ones. Great bike!

    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $425.00
    Purchased At:Petersons Sports
Strengths:Great fat offroad tires, Shifts well, 27 speed, Can take a beating. Full suspension for a cush ride.
    Weaknesses:Front shock bottoms out easily.
    Bike Setup:Stock
Bottom Line:This bike has been fantastic. Its a great trail ride. Im new to the full suspension and was woried about power loss on the uphill but with the 27 speed I havent notice any loss. The bike takes a beating and keeps on going. Buy this bike if youre not rich but want to go full suspension and are mainly interested in off road riding. This bike can handle concrete steps, Steep hills, and river beds.

Strengths:affordable, overall good components, big tires good for gripping during down hill, and good for the mud.
Weaknesses:Brakes are very weak, needed tunning after first ride. People say the fork needs upgrading but I think it's fine I haven't bottomed out yet.
Similar Products Used:Iron Horse, specialized hard rock
Bike Setup:Stock, Want to upgrade with disc brakes!!!
Bottom Line:For the money great bang for your buck. I got last year's model 2001 for $395 plus tax. Great bike for newbies like me, and for people with out a lot of money.

Submitted by Jimmy a Weekend Warrior from Miami
    Date Reviewed: July 25, 2001
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $680.00
    Purchased At:BigWheel
Strengths:'Nuke Me' Frame, Solid Build... Tight handling, bump soaking rear that doesn't bog down when hit hard... Awesome tires for the muddy trails!
    Weaknesses:Weak Brakes, Crappy front fork
Bike Setup:Heavier Front Springs, Stock Otherwise
Bottom Line:This bike kicks ass!!! It's my first MTB, and i just love it. Couple of hits though. First change the bloody fork or go get some new heavier springs, with the stock front fork i was bottoming out everywhere. I can't say enough about how this bike feels, i rode tons of bikes before choosing this one and this guy feels more solid, and 'tight' than all of them save for maybe some two grand and up bikes. IT's a bit heavy, but it makes up for it with it's willingness to take a beating! You may want to step up to the m7500 or the m8000, most of those mods would be great. Great BANG for the buck. Don't get it if you're looking for a race ready deal, this guy was meant for jumping off of things and hitting trees!!
