Description:CNC machined 6061-T6 extension body has a butted tubular design. The extension body, in conjunction with the dovetail clamp and the handlebar clamp, is unique in that the stem uses no welds in the construction. This gives the stem incredible strength and durability.
The U-shaped design gives greater surface contact between your stem and your bar, eliminating harmful “stress risers” that can cause your handlebars to bend or break. The rear dovetail clamp provides extreme clamping power by squeezing the extension body into the steer tube with a high friction fit – gripping tenaciously with 360 degrees of surface contact area.

Bottom Line:
I bought this stem off a friend cauz it looked cool but then i found it was the best stem i ever had.No problems so far,and i must admit that it has style. This stem gives confidence in not crashing your face into it,and had never came loose. The only bad point is the price wich i find expensive when you think you could just buy a serial rippa or some other sick stems for less bling bling.

ward a Cross Country Rider from vernon: man you're so stupid, heres a hint:Raceface DH System-->RACEFACE DH(DH=DOWNHILL NOT XC) SYSTEM! I hope that gets the message across. And please, spare the bullsh*t, 200 grams is NOT HEAVY! Do you expect raceface to put titanium bolts to save 3grams?
people like you make my blood boil.
Anyways, this stem is awesome. It's expensive unless you get a good price on it. By the way, it seems expensive because the US-CAN exchange rate is lower therefore I had to raise the price because it was purchased in CAN dollars.

Bottom Line:
This stem will not disappoint. The design is very simple, yet effective. It clamps the bars very securely with the two bolt faceplate. I've taken this setup over 5+ foot drops with no hinderance in performance. It's a piece of equipment where you can install it and forget about it.
I have my stem in 80mm by 15 degree rise, it gives me perfect riding position for any style of riding, I do everything from cross country to freeride to urban. Perfect comination with the raceface lowriser bar!
5 stars for value + everything else.
