    Weaknesses:Not the lightest

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $27.00
    Purchased At:SportChek Eaton Centre
Strengths:Very light in my opinion, stiff with no flex, looks nice, very wide for those who need extra space (you can just cut it if it's too wide). Plus it's Race Face; that's gotta be a strength all on its own!
    Weaknesses:Weaknesses? None so far!
Similar Products Used:The cheap bar that came stock with my bike but got bent in a crash.
Bike Setup:Ks Zed 1.0, Race Face stuff, RST fork, SRAM drivetrain components.
Bottom Line:What can I say? This bar does it's job well, and looks good at the same time! Plus the fact that I got a good deal on it, but that's another story... Not too much rise, but not flat either; just perfect for me! Just give it a try, you'll probably end up liking it in the end!

    Favorite Trail:Any
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $48.00
    Purchased At:Speedgoat
Strengths:Light weight, quality appearance, Race Face reputation
Weaknesses:Lack of index markings on center of bar
    Similar Products Used:Bontrager Crow Bar
Bike Setup:Intense Tracer w/XT, Sid 100, Mavic/XT Disc wheels, Avid Mechanical Disc Brakes, Avocet 02 Air saddle, Thomson Seatpost, Thomson stem, Chris King headset
Bottom Line:This bar is ideal for the XC rider looking for a slightly-more aggressive position for downhilling, but without the "high and wide" feel of full riser bars. The extra width gives additional leverage and control, but without feeling "truck-like." The rise is just enough to give more confidence on steep downhills, but is not so high that climbing feels like doing pull-ups on the bar just to keep the front tire down. I chose the red anodized bar, to color-coordinate with a scattering of red parts on my polished aluminimum frame - it matches fine, although, as previous reviews noted, is a bit pinkish. The bar seems stiff, but I'm not sure how much of that feel is from the new Thomson stem I recently installed. I am enjoying this bar very much, and hope it proves to be durable as well. 5 rellenos!

    Strengths:modest sweep, light
Weaknesses:little long; raceface text logo small (be proud!)
Bottom Line:Other risers had too much sweep and numbed my hands at times. This one doesn't because the sweep is more moderate. The only thing I would say is that if you ride the narrow stuff you may get jammed in tight spots - I did in a spot where my old bar could make it between trees.

Bottom Line:If you feel that the stock flat bar is just too flat, but a full 2" riser would be too much, this handlebar is great. Has just the right curves and rise. Has a great finish, and a look of real quality. Does not seem too wide like a lot of the 2" rise bars. What else needs to be said about a handlebar?! A definate 5 flaming pig entrails rating!

    Favorite Trail:don valley single track
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $45.00
    Purchased At:Cycle Solutions
Strengths:Incredible strength and rigidness for such a light bar, nice amount of rise, feels great at the helm
Weaknesses:I think a crossbar would improve my confidence in this bar
Similar Products Used:Profile riser bar with bolt on crossbar
Bike Setup:Giant ATX 870 frame, race face componentry, downhill excaliber rims, psylo XC, big ass tires
Bottom Line:I built my bike for hardcore XC freeriding (not sure if that makes sense). I ride distance and speed like a XC racer, BUT coming from a BMX background I hit every jump and obstacle (north shore stuff) I can get my hands on. This bar has proved to be exceptionally light, yet rigid enough bar that I can jump monster doubles, yet still keep up with XC racers through single track. Someday I hope to see a 10km race course, that has nothing but monster doubles and triples, and technical sections that require the finess of a ballet dancer....

Bottom Line:my raceface bar is perfect, it still looks good after 2,5 years, survived a couple of chrashes and handles very well. also the quality was perfect - the bends were the same right and leftside - no i wanted to get me a new one - just cause mine is cut off at 58 cm and i want to go 60+, but the one i got had strange bends, the right side was bend more than the left, i returned that junk, and the replacement was the other way round - so i´ll switch to some other bar ;-)

    Strengths:Strong, good looking. Durable finish.
    Weaknesses:None for me.
    Similar Products Used:Flat bars.
Bike Setup:Aeon Isis L frameset, XTR brakes & hubs, XT BB, crankset & front derailleur, Mavic 517 wheels, Panaracer Fire XC Pro 2.1 tires, Raceface 1" riser bar & RealSeal headset, Thomson post and stem, '01 SID 100 fork, Stratos AR-1 shock, SRAM 9.0 shifters & rear derailleur.
Bottom Line:The flat vs. riser bar debate is puzzlingly heated- the main reasons that I see for risers is to 1) change riding position without changing your stem and 2) looks. The main reasons not to use risers is 1) decreased strength/weight ratio and 2) looks. This 1" riser seems to be a nice compromise- I've paired mine with a 5º/100mm Thomson stem and cut 1" off of each end. Your mileage may vary, but I find the grip position quite natural with that combo. Steering feels solid and precise (no doubt aided by the supremely stiff Thomson) with just the right amount of leverage.

    Duration Product Used:2 Years
    Strengths:-looks
    -the finish hasn't faded yet
-rise, fles, comfort and it's still raceable
-it's a prime bar for any bike, I think more racers should try it, it's cheap too
-it's lasted a lot longer than my old control tech flat bar ( bent it hardcore )
Weaknesses:-I wasn't told that any Canadian company had any weaknesses
    - None
Similar Products Used:-control tech flat bar, which bent realy bad after attempting to air a cool section
-kona riser bar, stripped it where the clamp on the stem is, airing the same section that I broke my flat bar on
    Bike Setup:-98 vertex t.o.
    -race-face everything
-2000 atom bomb in the polished finish
-syncros hinged stem, polished as well
Bottom Line:Race-Face knew what they were doing when they made this bar. my skill level has been increasing rapidly to a more hardcore ,jumping/drops kind of riding and this bar has held up. I bent my old control tech bar when I was a lesser hardcore rider that's bad, and the race-face has been with me through all of my worst crashes, and best stunts and still hasn't broke. I have put a lot of off-road km's on this bar and it's been to the shore twice, moab once and south cal many times along with 100's oof rides and races in the rocky mountains as well as wheel skiing a few times. I'm very impressed. I've snapped and warped rims many times but haven't bent this bar. I'll definitely be buying another one next year. there crank and bb combination is amazing as well. another product that has been mocked on this site is syncros rims, mine have held up realy well but you need a good wheel builder to do them and triple cross lace the spokes and you shouldn't have a problem.

I have been doing some crazy dirt jumping lately and have gone through 1 crankset and 1 wheelset but havent cracked bars yet. The last bars i rode were specialized rizers, the crap broke at the grip. I was very lucky and walked away with some bruised ribs. I got these bars when i got my new stem because the azonics were to high of a rise and have loved them. Go get some right now!

Bottom Line:The low rise certainly has made riding more comfortable but hasn't diminished the "attack position." What made it perfect was losing the bar ends, cutting a full inch off of each side, and using Oury grips. Now it slices through technical singletrack like butter.
