I never had to do a thing to it. It just recently went out on me after 5 ears of riding, this bb was on my old Klein back in '99. I recently pulled off one of the cranks and a bunch of water came gushing out, the old race face was done! I just bought another one for $25.00 off of Pricepoint.

    Bike Setup:stuff
Bottom Line:Mmm, it lasted a few months before I noticed that it wouldn't spin when the cranks were off. So I used it some more and noticed the same thing when i pulled the cranks later. I was able to spin the spindle by USING THE CRANK ARMS for leverage. I pulled the seal and bearing carrier and found a nice glop of rusty junk. Nice. I repacked with grease but um, yeah. I'm using a square BB now, so I haven't used this since, but I have a feeling it won't last long. Need better seals or cartridge bearings. Or, just make it fully serviceable so I can pull the thing apart after wet rides.

Bottom Line:The Prodigy BB I used on my hardtail lasted until I transplanted all the good parts on to the Fuel, which used a different size BB. I had problems with this one within 6 months. The RF Turbines and chain rings are wonderful,(not cheap) but remember... when you by cheap stuff, you get cheap stuff. I would be weary of anything you can't work on or rebuild. Throw away parts are just that, throw away. I gave it 2 chili's because I did get my money's worth.

RF should be ashamed to put such a piece of crap out like this. Completely useless bb in my opinion. If I had known it was this bad I would have bought one of the more expensive ones and the DH cup. I only paid 29 bucks for the thing, but it should still last more than a month.

Bottom Line:Fifteen weeks of XC riding and it's shot. What a thoroughly cheap and nasty product this is. Did I say cheap? They cost £35 here in the UK! That's more expensive than the SRX. I didn't realise Race face made anything cheaper than Prodigy which all means that I now have to lay out serious money to get anything better.

That can't be good...so I decided to take this dog out and put it out of its misery. The BB was free so I gave it a shot and would recommend that nobody buy this product. If it comes free with the cranks, go ahead and try it, but be prepared to replace it. I'll give it 3 chili's for value, but 1 for overall. Bottom line is that this BB will NOT last.

Wonder if Race Face has ever heard of LOCKTITE? They came WAY loose three times, damaging the crank splines. So, I
cranked on the bolts way past the suggested values, but by
