Date Reviewed: April 20, 2004
Favorite Trail:Too Long
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Purchased At:Gift
Strengths:I like the calorie function. I set a point in the ride that my training ends and I start earning beer.
Weaknesses:Durability
Similar Products Used:none
Bike Setup:Klein Palomino, mostly stock.
Bottom Line:I have had terrible luck with the durability of this HRM. It used to work fine while climbing, but blank out and lose all info during rough descents. Now, it blanks out anytime I try to change the display. It probably would have been fine for road riding, but that's not what I do.

Submitted by Bubbles Esq. a Weekend Warrior from Sherwood Forest - (burb of Edmonton)
Date Reviewed: May 28, 2003
Favorite Trail:Anything Fast
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $100.00
Purchased At:Running Room
Strengths:This heart rate monitor is pretty durable. I hit a sign the other day doing about 30kph and the wrist piece took a direct hit and didn't break. The strap popped apart but that was easy to fix. While I'm riding I have it showing my current HR, and I can pace myself to keep my heart rate where I want to. At the end of the ride,I look at the file and I can see what my average HR was and exercise time.
Weaknesses:The wrist piece isn't too fancy looking. Sometimes the telemetry strap slips but that's mostly due to the V-shape of my upper body!!!!!

Bike Setup:Dekerf Generation Cromoly Hardtail / Norco VPS Shore
Bottom Line:If you want a HR monitor that gives you the basics and won't break the bank, this is the one. If you need your speed and wattage etc. your going to have to spend a lot more money.

Submitted by Pablo a from Houston, TX, USA
Date Reviewed: May 27, 2002
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $110.00
Strengths:Durability, customized calorie-burning info, ease of use
Weaknesses:Weight, compared to similar models
Similar Products Used:None
Bottom Line:Easy to use, reliable hrm. Only problem is that my girlfirend has an older Polar hrm model, and my hrm will pick up both of our heart rates. Otherwise, a great hrm.
