Building on the concept of Fire, TrailBlaster incorporates a completely new and proprietary compound that provides outstanding grip with excellent durability. Add tremendous weight savings, and you have what could possibly be the next XC tire king. Weighing in at a mere 520g for the 2.1, 460g for the 1.95, and an astounding 400g for the 1.8, the TrailBlaster gives you a FULL tread, FULL knobby tire that performs in all conditions, all the time. No whimpy tread and fast wear here. Just solid, long lasting tread that performs they way you need it to.

Was on sale, so I got a great deal! Light durable, looks sporty, & slight blue/black mix sidewall matches my frame color. Good grip on the edges yet fast enough on the hard pack. I use a tire liner & inflate tire to recommended max. pressure, so I've had no problem with looseness stretching or tube exposure. Tread wear seems very minimal(3 mos.) so far...
Weaknesses:
None to my knowledge.

Bottom Line:
I've had these tires on my bike for only 3 mos. For spending less than $30.00 on the pair. I can never complain. If these tires reach even near 1 year in life. I'll have to put them in my personal hall of fame. Think I'll stick with Panaracers when I need to go buy replacements for these. Probably upgrade to a "higher" set!!

I am surprised there are not more comments about how unsafe these are, especially as a front tire. I have had the tire roll off the front rim (Sun UFO) twice with the tube billowing out like putrifying bratwurst. Luckily was slow speed. A friend also had this tire do the same thing - scary if going downhill rapidly. They go on and come off without levers and quite simply, the kevlar bead is too loose. Too bad because, otherwise, seems like a great tread pattern for New England, Maritimes Canada conditions.

Great rear tire for XC. I have used the 1.95 and 2.1 in the rear with success in the past. They offer light-weight traction for technical climbing. On the front they are just horrible. The may roll faster in front, but they just cannot corner without washing out. I have changed these out in favor of the Cinder front and rear. My main riding trail has changed from technical XC to a more rocky/downhill type trail. This required a wider tire to handle lower pressures and the Cinder fits the bill. I still use the TrailBlaster when I rider the technical XC trails.

Obviously these tyres will wear quickly on roads they are soft compound, which means you stick to the surface like glue off and on road. I have even scaled a number of sandy slopes. They wore out fast for an older guy who's not hard on gear. Once I replaced the front with another brand,it was clear that the rear just couldn't keep up. When cornering, it would slide out (at about 35psi for 150 lb rider)and the front would keep on tracking, thereby saving me from being body slammed into the poison oak. Any technique used while climbing out of the saddle still results in wheelspin, even on east coast bulletproof hardpack. The're lighter that most of what's out there, straightline speed is good with adequate flat protection, so racers with unlimited tire budgets might like them best. I can't understand the bad reviews here but for me this tire works really good. I have Continental Vertical PROtection 2.3 (looks like a 2.1) in the front and the TrailBlaster in the back. I Putrchased my SC Blur and it came with very thin light Kenda Karma tires. Although very light and fast for hard pack racing I tore them up on my first trip to Moab. Then I got my Conti Vertical to the front (kept Kenda Karma in the back)and was still not satisfied with how I was able to climb loose rock and gravel especially on steep hills in races. My rear wheel would always slip. So one day I got mad and read all reviews under the sun , examined all tread patterns and decided to give TrailBlaster a try on my back wheel. I was immediately able to tell a difference in climbing and the grip I was getting. Solved the problem in loose dirt and rock. As far as I am concerned, this is one superior tire and when it wears out, I will most definitely purchase another one. I would not put it on the front wheel though since I think more knoby pattern is needed there. But with the combination with Fire XC pro in the front, it might be really good.

Bike Setup:

Bottom Line:
I bought these tires, in the 1.8 size with Kevlar bead, for XC race use. I wanted very light weight at a good price. These were an awesome choice at $18 and just 400 grams! I worried that I'd sacrifice too much handling with these, but I just finished my first XC race with these, and I'm very happy with them in all respects, so far anyway. Maybe winning my class improved my opinion of them too!
Here's how I judge gear: If I don't even have to think about the stuff while using it, it must be doing its job well. During this race I completely forgot I was running new tires.
These really felt a lot like my old favorites from Specialized, and somewhat like the IRC Mythos XCs, but more precise. The IRCs were a little squirmy at times, but the TrailBlasters just held their line in all trail conditions I encountered, like good Specializeds. Well, except for in soft beach sand, and no tire I've run could do that well.
The race course was in Fort Ord, near the Sea Otter Classic course by Monterey, and it had mostly sandy soil, moist hardpack, some minor mud, and loose beach sand. Some short, but very steep, climbs, but not a lot of roots or loose gravel. 15 miles and 1,500 feet of climbing. Not once did I think these tires weren't up to the task.
Over time, I'm certain these tires will wear out fast due to the shallow knobs. But since I only use them for races, they should last long enough. But I do think the thin sidewall is probably vulnerable to rock damage. It's also likely that their light construction means they will pinch-flat easier with heavier riders or on rocky trails. I would say heavier riders, or those who are more downhill oriented, or those who ride on nasty rocks or loose gravel a lot, should look for a heavier tire with taller knobs.
For me, in my area, these are perfect for the XC races I do.

On the street - the noisiest tires I've ever ridden. MAD vibration (and I weigh 180). They wear FAST. Don't feel like a light, supple tire.
OK, you say they're off-road tires? I agree.
They're good for medium to hard-packed, relatively flat and dry terrain. Guess what? My Maxxis Hookworms work well in those conditions, too. Better, maybe. NO TREAD (well, teenie diamonds).
Uphill, they slip. Cornering, they slide. Over obstacles, they bottom out and don't grip. Downhill? Can't stop without rear sliding. Mud sticks to them as if they had tightly spaced knobs. What a horrible tire.
At high pressure (45-55 psi), they skitter all over. At low pressure (30-40 psi), they get sluggish and bottom out.
Who the heck is writing these grand reviews?!
I don't think I've ever been this disappointed with a tire.

Didnt hold up well on fast cornering. The rear is good. Sheds mud. Super quick. Does the job. Best setup is put a Fire XC on the front, this on the rear. The 2.1 size is more like a 1.8. The tread will not last very long at all. That sort of negates what looks like a realtively bargain tire.
Similar Products Used:

Bottom Line:
I rode the Fire XCs a long time and dug them. A really muddy race last spring led me to want something that would drop the mud better, though, so I tried some Trailblasters. Like I said above, the 2.1 size is nowhere near it. It looks significantly narrower. If you are used to the sort of buoyant ride that Fire XCs at that width provide, that's kind of out the window. They did, however, shed mud really well throughout our ridiculously wet summer down here. I used them front and back until a wreck in a race made the bead up front blow apart. Don't know if that speaks of any weakness. Anyway, I went back to a normally sized 2.1 tire up front after that. I found that the combination of a realistically sized 2.1 up front with the Trailblaster on back worked better than running two Trailblasters. I think a variation on that theme is the way to go. Finally, the center tread does not last long. I got something like 3 or 4 months out of one up front before the threads beneath the rubber started to show. In summary (ahem), it's the Trailblaster is okay on the back, lame up front, and considering how quickly the tread goes it really isn't much of a bargain.

Bottom Line:
I cannot believe all the whining I am reading by people about these tires. Waaaaa they slide in the wet, waaaaaa they slide in sand. I bet you guys couldn't hang with me if I were riding slicks! I am using Notos on the front, Panaracer Trailblasters on the back. I like the name trailblaster, reminds me of myself, I am a trailshredder. The Notos work great on the front for that extra traction I get cornering on the slick rocks, leaves, and mud we get here in Pennsylvania, the toughest place to ride in the whole United States. The Trailblaster I am using is on the rear. It sheds the mud we have over here very quickly. One time I hit a mud hole and sank to my front hub, and the rear end came up, but I somehow pedaled out of the hole with the blasters. I am not sure how they would work on the front though. I might go with the Fire XC Pro on the front. The only problem is the tires are impossible to get in yellow. I like colors. My bike mixes and matches. I like people to see and remember my bike everytime I lap them in the woods. Yeah, I am a shredder, so take from me, my tire setup is radical, I am radical, so learn something here, and quit your whining. hehehe.

Strengths:
Extremely Rigid - Predictable Grip - Can be used on all types of terrain; sand, mud, rock, root, pebble, gravel, pavment - Light weight - Easy to mount -
Weaknesses:
Measures as 2.0, not 2.1 as advertised - some vibration on pavement, but no biker should be concerned with this if they are doing any type of real riding (which is off road - thus the name "cross county" or "downhill" or "mountain biking!!!!" DO NOT USE WITH STAN'S NO TUBES -It will blow off the rim. NO TUBES is a joke for the most part any way!! Only use with UST tires for added puntcure resistence - the intended use for tube tires by manufacturer's specs is "tires to be used with tubes" your chancing your own safety using NO TUBES in a TUBE tire - think about it!
GIANT NRS - All XT equipped with XT hydraulic disc brakes, Mavic 3.1 UST rims
Bottom Line:
I am absolutely shocked at some of the reviews I have read and must point out that anyone who is disappointed with any tire they buy because it washes out when they ride on rocks and roots in wet conditions is deceived as to the performance they should expectfrom any tire. These people are not going to sustain in those conditions on any tire and they might consider their ability to ride their bikes (or inablility). REALISTICALLY, these tires are awesome. I ride in New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Southern California and I cannot emphasize enough that this is one of the only, if not ONLY, Do-All tires there are. The nobbies are stout, yet the tire is only 520 grams! The nobbies over center are smooth to get even contact and reduces rolling resistence. The nobbies are tall and cut large and strait so they catch roots and edges of rock or paddle in sand and mud. The angles they set the other small nobbies bite in turns and the side nobbies are doubled so they don't tear. This tire has not yet begun to wear and I have placed 250 miles of large jagged rock on them at all angles and skids and the steepest of downhills and sharpest of turns. The tire has spent 50 miles on pavement - no effect. They are fast and they are in control and take any skidding or beating you can give them. (I weigh 200 lbs on top of that!!) To let you know what other tires I think are good to compare these to are any continental (Explorer and verticals knobs break to easily on rock, but otherwise are the best all around traction - because rigidity is most important when riding the ridiculously rocky terrain I am on in Tulsa, which is worse than california and the rocky mountains in New Mexico, I chose the trailblasters. Also, the pythons are horrible in softened hard pack and sand and mud - though are durable and plush on rock. The Revolt is fast, but only for hard pack, and the AC Jones does not offer any consistent bite - too much flat surface nobbie to gain traction. Any Michelin made - well, they should never have been made; the Wild Gripper is exactly as it's name implies - an unpredictable wild gripper - I chucked them. As for the Trailblaster, I hope they will be around forever!!!!!!! They function exactly as their name implies!!!! Enjoy!!! PS - Would some of you guys proof read your typing - you appear to be illiterate or lazy and it ruins the credibility of your reviews!!!!!!!

Advertised weight was 400 grams but average weight of tire that i got was 420 grams.Wet rock and wet root traction bites. Deep sand causes front tire to wash out in corners. Thin width makes tire tricky to ride over rocks. the tire deflects a lot more than a thicker tire would. Ran tire at 40psi any higher, tire is to harsh. Not recomended a trail tire race only, as a regular trail tire 3 chili's as a cross country race tire 5 chili's

Bottom Line:
This is not a complete review. I only used the tire in damp conditions. The trails I ride are very rocky and it has rained like heck here this spring. All those rocks are slicker than snot now.
That being said, I was very disappointed in the traction. This tire (used on rear only) had an alarming tendency to wash out side to side on even the slightest off-camber. Uphill traction was equally disappointing with frequent spin-outs. The braking however was solid and the tire seemed to resist pinch flatting (but time will tell on this count).
I don't like to give poor reviews, but after my last ride I will religate this to the scrap pile. For damp conditions Fire XC's are a much better choice. Even my IRC Mythos's hook up better. I will give it one more try when the trails dry out. I suspect the tire will behave much better in dryer, hard pack conditions. I will try to submit another review then.

Bottom Line:
Great tire! A rare combination of a full knobby that rolls fast. I like one tire that I can trail ride on technical stuff as well as do the occasional cross country race and this tire is one of the few that can do both well. Compared to the Hutchinson Pythons (a fine tire in its own right) that I was running on before, the Trailblasters are way better in braking, technical singletracks, rocks, and holding a line on off camber straights and corners. Only the aforementioned fireroad conditions give it some problems, but this is a compromise I can live with.
Definitely get the 2.1 (only 530g) size . The 2.1 Trailblasters are not a "high volume" tire. In addition, they're a bit narrower than my 2.0 Pythons. Even at my weight, 135lbs, I notice they are not as supple as the Pythons despite running them at the same pressures (30 lbs front, 32lbs rear).

Strengths:
The design is a work of art. These are about as well designed as the Thompson Elite seatpost. Add these to the best-of-the-best line of products. These are just awesome tires.
They put carbon down the center to increase the durability and strength of the tire, but made the sides softer to grab on hard turns. Even better though, they made this gradual across the tread, so it's always just right.
Weaknesses:
I can only say they don't shed mud as well as Hutchinson Alligator Golds, but those tires are so heavy (800 grams) that it's just a matter of considering the trade-off. Do you want to do anything tires or are you a weight weenie who wants high performance besides. I'm the latter, so I can accept this as a minor weakness. The Hutchinsons don't beat these in the turns though.
Also, I don't like the look of the colors on the Trail Blasters, so I went with black/black, but probably would have done so regardless.
Similar Products Used:
Hutchinson (awesome but heavy), Bontrager (the worst tires I've used ever since I started riding seriously long, long ago), IRC (very nice), and these (which I'll be using from now on I believe).
Bike Setup:

Bottom Line:
I love these tires. I'm particularly high on them after a year on the Bontrager Jones AC tires that came with my bike--which I seriously think were going to get me killed.
The only other tires I've ever really thought were great were the Hutchinson Alligator Golds. The Hutchinsons are really heavy though, at 800 grams compared to only about 540 grams on the Trail Blasters. These tires are even lighter than the Firc XC Pros--which I think were the lightest knobbies in the world until these came along.
The construction and materials are really state-of-the art on the Trail Blasters. I especially like the idea of putting carbon in the center.
These tires cut and grab better than anything I've ever used.

After researching various tires I picked up a couple of 2.5 Kevlars. They are much narrower than other 2.5's I have used, and very lite. Typically I do urban assault, mountain trails, fire roads, and some technical stuff. The Trailblasters have handled very well in all conditions which includes mud, leaves, and snow. They are fast, and inspired confidence in all terrain except sand, they were average in mud. I am quite happy with these tires and would not hesitate to purchase another pair. A couple of days ago I took them out on snow and ice covered city pathways (30 km's), it was a nice ride despite the cold. For CDN riders, MEC (Mountain Equipment Co-op) seemed to have the best prices and they do mail order.

My only two complaints are they don't shed mud very well and they are not the best on steep short climbs. However, it is an all around tire which usually means a few sacrafices for the versatility.
I am running Stans NoTubes kit with the Trailblasters. The front tire has worked perfect. I can run 30-35 PSI and have not added sealent in 3 months. The rear tire did not handle Stans as well. I got a punture in the tread on the 2nd ride and the sealant would not seal the hole. Additionally, the side wall has become much looser since running tubeless. I have had to run tubes on the rear tire since.
Overall, this is a very good all around XC tire.

And if you know of a tire this is good for these conditions and is not relatively heavy, let me know! For hard pack and tacky course conditions this tire does not have enough knobs. I have not ridden the tire much on pavement, so I cannot comment on the longevity problems that some have mentioned. Purchased the tire for rear of my bike on Aug 5th, put 450 kms of basically dirt road riding with a few trails thrown in - nothing major. Stopped for a water break on Sept 13th on a well travelled dirt road that my riding buddy and I were cruising on when my friend looks at my rear tire and asks " What the hell is that on your tire?" I look down and there is a crack that starts at one of the edge knobs and then forks down the sidewall to the bead. I am totally pissed at this - I have travelled these roads on all kinds of crappy, worn out tires and have never blown a tire. This thing costs $55 + taxes - here in Nova Scotia that means add 15% = $64 for this tire and should stand up to this type of driving - maybe it is a street tire in a knobby (somewhat knobby) disguise. I bought the 1.95 kevlar beaded redwall tire and I think some of the problem with the tire is that the sidewall is wider than the tread and sticks out past the tread of the tire, thus exposing it to whatever is there to puncture it - have a look at one installed and pumped up - you can actually see the sidewalls bulging past the tread part of the tire even at the 42 lbs that I run in my tires.

DO NOT RECOMMEND non-UST model FOR STAN'S NOTUBES!!!
I Semi-followed install instructions and was able to get air to hold. However these tires are way too thin to run tubless. The only thing that saved my ass was the liquid latex that held the seal.
I pinch flatted, and that was stopped by the latex. Then the tire completely blew out from the rim on a rocky technical section. I was kind of cool to see out the corner of my eye. The tire was visibly separated from the rim briefly, then resealed.
Quit yer whining if you're trying to run these thru mud and water. It's obvious they aren't the strongest in these conditions. Might as well bust out your ten speed for a dual slalom race.

I thought these tires were great for the first month. Then the flats started coming. I'm not talking about pinch flats either. I started getting a flat every other ride and it is really frustrating. I finally took them off and discovered that the casing and rubber is really thin. I guess that is how they keep the weight down. I ride the forests of northern Canada and these tires are just not suited to this terrain. I would also recommend finding a different tire if you ride wet trails.

Riders who like the Fire XC's will not like these. But they are superb at what they are supposed to do, roll well. If you like the XC's but your riding calls for better rolling these are the best, they fit the bill. A lot of reviews are trying to rate them for something they are not designed to be, I mean just look at the tread, obviously you will need to make allowances. No tyre ever made or probably ever will be will answer every terrain thrown at it. Rock, sand, mud, hardpack, tarmac, grass. All comes down to personal choice on how you want your tyres to feel for you. Don't rate tyres for something they not designed to do. These even have a warning on them not to use in winter conditions, I'll put the Fires back on then! I've rated these on what they are designed for and how they match that design, which is 100%, the same as I give Fires for what they are designed for.

The Trailblaster has very low rolling resistance over the XC Pro, which has been great, but not sure if it's worth loosing the breaking power and cornering capability of the XC Pro. I guess you just have to figure out which characteristics are important for your riding. I think if your looking for a good overall tire, there are better choices out there. But if you want to save some weight, the Trailblaster can help you with that.

Another great all-around tire, even better than the Fire. After some great rides on a pair of Stradius tires, I wanted to see how the rubber worked off-road. $40 later, and I'm impressed. I'm used to Pythons and Mosquitos, which tend to under-state width, but these are pretty optimistic. The 2.1's are more like 1.95 mounted and inflated, and are easily half an inch shorter than Pythons. However, they roll very fast over anything, and still grip amazingly well. Cornering, even through loose stuff, or over sticks and rocks, is a breeze. Mud is thrown off before it collects, and while deep sand is still ugly, that's more tire size than anything else. Compared to the Fires, these are at least 50% better. I never liked the cornering of the Fires - they don't give enough feedback, and I've washed out a few times due to this. The TB's give plenty of feedback, and more importantly, they corner great. I actually pushed them today, expecting to go down, and didn't. They drifted a few inches through loose dirt, but held. For East Coast racing, these are a safe choice no matter what the weather's been like, and on a FS bike, they'd be even better. They don't have the float of higher volume tires, but they're worth it.

I bought this tire as soon as it was advertised, and others ive bought like this have also held up well. However, after the product hits the market full force the tires seem to be of inferior craftsmenship. It's like the company produces jam up tires first to get the public hooked, then start releasing weaker rubber. I bought these with high expectations. I thought it would be great saving about 100 grams per tire over some of the other brands I have tried. At first, they worked great on all but very loose gravel where they seem to stray a bit.
My hopes were suddenly dashed when after about a month of use, the fell apart. Not just the rear but the front tire as well. I ride off road about 90% of the time but in this case, I was on a paved path doing about 15 MPH when I felt this bump coming from the front tire. I stopped and looked and there was nothing possible I could have hit (remember, I'm on black top) but as I looked closely at the front tire, I noticed it was ripping apart in the middle. The white cords were shining through.
It wasn't more than a few miles later on the ride back home that I flatted in the front due to this "wonderful" tire. I thought it was probably a fluke until the back tire did the exact same thing a few rides later.
The only thing I can say is that you are better off spending your money elsewhere.

I was surprised that they roll as fast as they do, being as knobby as they are but i suppose the much hyped "multi-step" knob does its job. the only time these have failed me (i use the word "fail" very loosely here) is cornering on leaf covered ground. I believe that this is characteristic of most tires, so i could not call it a fault. the rear tire has always held on in even the loosest of climbs, so i'm a believer in these tires. I've recently discovered that mavic's 517 rim can be converted to tubeless (talk to your LBS), so i'm considering the tubeless version of these tires when the tubed ones wear out. I'd also like to see a tubeless version in the 2.1 size, time will tell.

Strengths:
Light Good all-conditions tire Looks schweet Long tread life
Weaknesses:
Tight bead, it will take longer to put back on if you go flat(which will cost if it happenes in a race)
I made a big mistake and bought the 1.95's to save a little weight. I normally ride 2.1's and think it would be well worth the weight sacrifice to go with the 2.1's. I weigh 170 and just dont have the confidence on the skinnys, they dont corner as well and tend to bounce around significantly more. I usually ride with 38-40 psi but have found that the skinnys require about 45+ psi. Every time I go with lower pressure I flat out and find the hole right at the valve, I am guessing that the tire is pulling off the rim causing the tube to rip at the valve and I have checked the rim. The ride is just too harsh at 45+ psi so I went back to the Fire XC 2.1's. I would buy this tire in a 2.1! My shop just cant keep em in stock.

This is a review of the 1.9 Panaracer (not UST). Light, sheds mud well, fast rolling.
Weaknesses:
Not really a weakness but - 460grams as stated above??? On the package it states that it weights 500 grams.

Bottom Line:
This is a review of the 1.9 trailblasters. I almost got the 2.1's. I went for the 1.9 because of the less rolling resistance. My previous tires were 2.1 WTB Velociarator great tires but a bit slower. Anyway, I'm pleasantly surprized and pleased with the results of this tire on the conditions that I ride on - Rocky, rooty, sandy, muddy and hardpack. I'm 175 lbs and run them at 40psi. If anybody has been to Stillwell in Syoset, you would know that trial has a little bit of everything. The tire can hang under all these conditions. If you're a weight weenie like me, go for this tire. I'm happy with it.

Difficult to mount, a bit narrow, high minimum pressure
Similar Products Used:

The bead was much tighter than other tubeless tires I've tried, making it a real b&tch to mount. 1-2mm of extra room wouldn't hurt a bit.
The minimum recommended pressure is 35 PSI, which somewhat negates the benefits of tubeless, particularly on a narrow tire such as this 1.95. I would either redesign to allow running at 30 PSI and/or come out with a 2.1 version of the Trailblaster tubeless.
As a result, it rides a bit harsh compared to the Pythons, which I like a lot.
Price is also a bit high, but I can understand that given the lower sales volumes of UST tires these days.
On the plus side, although, traction is excellent thus far, both laterally and climbing (better sidehill grip than the Pythons, for sure). It is fall here, and with a deep leaf cover, I wanted something with teeth. This is the best choice right now.
Overall, a good start that could use some refinement.

LIGHT!! Panaracer claims it's 400 grams (mine's the 1.8" trailblaster). This has improved pickup tremendously. I find the rolling resistance lower than other wider knobblies, despite the buzzing sound. I've heard that it sheds mud damn well, which is a boon for the wet conditions in Singapore.
Weaknesses:
On certain types of wet pavement, it's a very dangerous tyre. A light touch of the front brake will lock the front wheel, so imagine how conering would be like. Still, this is an off-road tyre, but u will definitely encounter pavement on your way to the trail...

Well, this tyre is actually considered quite expensive where I live, so only 4 peppers 4 the value, but if u consider the rotational weight savings, it's quite a good deal. To me, it's almost like a semislick that can perform well in wet slippery condition off-road. Weight weenies out there, I say grab the 1.8" Trailblasters!

Great for climbing. You can run low air pressure and get great results. I go between 35lbs & 40lbs depending on the ride...I weigh 195lbs.

I feel a little resistence on the road...I know, that's not what they were made for but that's the only thing I can come up with. Scares animals and little children with the noise made.

I like em. Climb great, works better @ lower pressures so experiment. The price is a little up there but I don't mind. On a budget? Get the Mythos IRC...they're great tires as well & you can get them for 15 bones a piece...or better!

Needless to say I won my race on this tyre and was flying downhill like Ive never done before, never washed out once.

Bottom Line:
This is a fast rolling tire really suited for racing. I have read some reviews about premature wear, but I rode a pair 3x a week racing on the weekend for 3 months and replaced the rear only cause I wanted full clean tread for a big race. I may be lucky or maybe it's not so rocky on my local trails, but I have not had the same sidewall or wear troubles. This tire performs when you want to go fast. Not the best braking tire, it's a compromise. It really shines in the loamy soil.

Had good luck with Firepro's so I thought I'd give these a try. Have been severly disappointed overall. Tires are wearing quickly and I have had more flats than with any other tire in the past 2 years of riding. To avoid flats I had to increase pressure which made them sketchy as others have mentioned. My sidewalls have two cuts in them--which was always rare in the past for me. As soon as these totally give up (which looks to be soon) I may go back to Fire Pro's. There are better tires out there... at least for me.
