$50.00 | | Strengths: | The best all round tyre Of the many (at least 15) ones I have tried. Good downhill tyre indeed, but not a problem XC tyre like most good DH tyres. Good grip in turns. And on all surfaces. Only the Gazzalodi and The duro Leapoard 3" and 2.6" setup beats this for DH. This tyre is ACE in grass/mud/anything at all! | | Weaknesses: | Tyre pressure pretty critical. get it wrong and you will be cursing, especially on loose gravel! Don't overinflate the front and it will have the sweetest grip. | | Similar Products Used: | Tioga/ maxxims etc.. | | Bike Setup: | Stinky | | Bottom Line: | This is a tyre I can heartily reccomend as your all round only tyre needed. (I can think of no other that fits this broad bill).
Yes, the sub 2 inch tyres may be faster for XC, but they have to be rock hard which makes them crap for DH.. The BIG FAT 2.6 Inches Plus tyres may grip better and kick ass for DH and rocks, but they are dogslow for climbing. They are not worth the hassle of changing over from these magics.
Just get this tyre, a good 2.1 and you will have 95% DH excellence and 75% XC adaptability and speed. The only tyre you will need. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Canada Date Reviewed: April 30, 1997 | | Bottom Line: | I am from Vancouver and this is a grat tire for the wet, slick, root and rocky conditions we have here. It is a great climbing tire that continues to bite even on the steepest hills. Great all around traction. Only complaint is that the bifunctional compund seems a little soft for really hard cornering on hardpack, or when riding across steep slopes. | Overall Rating: |

I saw the reviews of this tire and could not believe I was riding the same tire. I never feel comfortable in the turns. When they give way it seems to be very sudden and no warning. Because of the flat profile there is nothing to lean on and dig in. Happy riding! | Overall Rating: |

Great grip in all conditions. I have only had one flat. I have put 1200 miles on them and they are just starting to show wear. And I also like the colour. Great tires- I will buy them again and again....... | Overall Rating: |
