Problems with chain suck. | | Similar Products Used: | Specialized Stumpjumper FSR. | | Bike Setup: | Manitou Skareb fork, Hope hubs and discs, Raceface cranks. | | Bottom Line: | The bike is the lightest XC full suspension rig I have ridden not counting a quick blast on a friends Stumpjumper. It is great on the climbs and the geometry suits me well. I don't seem to get a lot of suspension bob.
If you really hammer it downhill it can become a bit difficult to control, but maybe tweaking the suspension would remedy this.
The main problems I have had are creaking / squeaking noises from the suspension and irratating chain suck from the cranks. It is the first time I have used disc brakes and the Hope minis it has are great, but adds another degree of difficulty when servicing.

(Now) does the job I wanted it to - fast, simple FS XC bike | | Weaknesses: | Finishing kit on Pro spec weak. FSA BB spindle snapped within 5 mins of riding; Shimano chain went soon after. Seat pin, saddle and stem junk. WTB rims very loose tyre fit. | | Similar Products Used: | Voodoo Bokor, Kona Kilauea | | Bike Setup: | Stock Sub 3 Pro with Scareb Comp lockout forks and SID rear shock. Changes - Hope Minis, Race Face Deus stem, SRAM rockets, Thomson seat pin, XTR rear mech, Race Face BB, Flite Ti saddle. Have heard it critisized for a low BB height but have never had a problem.
One last thing, I'm 6'4" with a 35" inside leg and my bike is 20". Top tube length is fine but it has a very low head height. This has necessitated an an inch of spacers and a 15 degree rise stem to get it to fit me. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
