Oakley quality After 10 minutes, you don't know you have them on Frames don't fold so they suck to your head
Weaknesses:
Oakley name, you you're forced to overpay Frames don't fold so storage gets to be a bit of an issue Certain lenses don't snap into the frame. I was playing baseball in the outfield and I was running hard after a ball and the lenses just fell out. They've fallen out on some bumps on the trail as well. That's a little embarassing with a $100 pair of glasses.

Bottom Line:
The Pro M Frame from Oakley has to be one of the most famous and widely used sports sunglasses on the planet. There is a very good reason for this: they work... very well.
If you're into XC riding or spending hours on the more gentle trails you can't go wrong with these glasses.
If you're into downhill or hucking, I suggest wearing goggles if you aren't already. Sunglasses will move around your face more than goggles, but they are also lighter and won't fog. A lot of it comes down to personal preference so it's always best to try before you buy (if possible).
As with most Oakley's, the Pro M Frames will hurt your wallet. A pair will suck about $230 out of your pocket in Australia, so know what you're doing.

Cool look. Great fit. You can swap out lenses for different conditions. Durability.
Weaknesses:
One-piece frame is a royal pain - it's too big to store anywhere without a full-size Oakley Vault which is like carying a suitcase in your car. I wear a ball cap most of the time I am outside, and I wore these under my bike helmet too. The "O" logo on the sides of the frame was the painted-on type, and it wore thin after a couple of months. The newer model has a molded & glued "O" logo that is set into the frame better and durability is much better on this newer design.

Bottom Line:
These are good glasses, but the fixed frames make them unmanageable in finding a safe storage place in your car where they won't get squished or broken. I really prefer the M frames with the collapsible (hinged) frame. 2 chili's for value - the fixed frame sucks. 3 chilis overall - good Oakley product & functional performance.

These Oak's have great optics and are distortion-free. Their customer service is bar-none. They've replaced 3 pair of frames for me (free) even after my warranty had expired 2 years earlier... my only problem was with the "O's" rubbing off. I highly recommend these for anyone who enjoys good looks, saftey and functionality. 1) Relatively comfortable 2) Interchangeable lenses--big plus--get the vented (golf) style to avoid having them fog up when you slow down or stop. 3) Optics are very good The interchangeable lenses capability is a very big plus. Get gray for sunny days, i.e. as regular sun glasses. Then, get amber/yellow for partly sunny or cloudy days. This makes a huge, beneficial difference in being able to see during the cloudy days. The amber/yellow lenses actually improve sight during those cloudy days.
Weaknesses:
These are not low maintenance glasses. They scratch easily and come with their own cleaning cloth--the carry case for the lenses--and the micro-cloths can be purchased at any store. But, if you want glasses to stuff into your pocket after the ride, these probably aren't the glasses you want. Fogging after stopping was a big problem until I got the vented, golf, style.

Bottom Line:
I've noticed that most people purchase or are considering purchasing these frames mostly from an aesthetic point of view. I agree they look great, but I found out something else that really upped the value rating. A few months ago as a construction truck loaded with stones overtook me, one of it flew at me and struck me right on my left eye. I crashed and got pretty bruised up but the one thing that worried me most was my eye. Incredibly the lens and top of the left frame was heavily scratched, but apart from that I was still able to see. I really doubt a different brand would have kept me from being blind. Now I wear them whenever I ride regardless of time or weather condition. Pricey yes, but thats protection (and looks) for you.

Bottom Line:
This product was best made for white people cos im asian with a low ridge(thats on ya nose) and it sits closer to my face than its meant to therefore fogging up heaps. Though if u got the right face shape its a good design cos it doesnt touch your temples hence no sweat drips down on the lense and allows enough ventilation. The blue iridium lense is ok(good on very sunny days) though it tends to turn everything an orangy colour and gets way too dark towards late arvo. They're not good if riding through tree shadows or where there is a big contrast between light and dark.Im a roadie, so not much of a concern but if on the trail use yellow or VR50/25 lense tint. My jackets have black iridium lenses and they dont have this problem. Got some yellow lenses and they kick arse esp dawn and overcast rides, even got good glare protection when sunny. I got sweep lense shape cos they look the best, I dont know if lense shape effects fogging etc, they do stop eyes from getting dry though.

The M frame line does fit all faces. That might explain why some of you guyz end up breaking the frame into 2. so for those who intend to get it, try it out first, preferably with all the four lenses. I bought mine with a yellow frame and black iridium sweep lens (yes, there is a cooler combination than the red frame black lens combo). Does a great job of cuting out the glare.especially around the edges. It is still expensive but it's definitely worth it.

Bottom Line:
Bottom line is that your going to read alot about broken glasses and fogging problems as well as sweat getting on the lenses. To keep sweat off your lenses you have to have the perfect lense for your face, they're are four different shaped lenses for all size faces, along with inumerable lenses combinations. Oakley does a great job on clarity, better than any other that I've ever seen. I have VR-28 (highly recommended lense) that all who buy the Pro M-frame should also get. I also have the clear lenses but regret getting it for the fact that the VR-28 is a light enough tint. Oakley makes a tight fit and are not unbreakable but if you have a big head you have to be careful putting them on. Some people like to pull the earstems all the way out to put the glasses on their face and that will obviously break them. I have had a few crashes with them on my face and nothing has happened to mine. Great thing is that if you ever scratch a lenses you can buy another very easily. And all glasses will fog. I have'nt had much trouble except for some minor fogging at the top of the lenses (only when stopped). Oakley has a problem with painting their symbol on their glasses. It will fade. And very soon. Mine came 3/4 of the way off the day I bought it. You would think that they would want people to see their symbol and not sigh at the low paint quality. Overall they are great glasses and they will stay on your face with the help of that unbelievable nose piece (that must be washed because of Corrosive sweat) You will love these glasses and no, they are not bad looking, just a little practical compared to the Racing Jackets (which are not as good as the M-frames for riding, Racing Jackets tend to bounce alot) Obviously mountain biking is an expensive sport and we pay high prices for our products so money shouldn't be a concern. Go and get them, try them out, don't mess them up, and if you don't like them than take them back. I recommend Sunglass Hut for great service. I thank you for your time.

When I'm playing V-Ball on the beach they are awesome cause they fit so well. On the bike I like to remove them while climbing but have no where to put them. They don't fit in a jersey pocket and fall out of my helmet. I have to keep them on and sweat drips on them.
There is a new version of these which close. I would love to get those now but can't justify another $135 for another pair.
Here's a tip for those who break the frame and can't warrantee it. Take you're most popular lense and glue it in te frame permenantly. At least you can still use them with one lense. It's better than throwing them out. I have an old mumbo frame with a clear lense glue in it.
Low value rating because they are soo expensive.

I found these shades at a snow resort. I would never personally buy these things. They are pretty ugly compared to my other Oakleys. However, I do use them when cycling. They cover most of your face, thus keeping the sun away from your eyes. The thing I really don't like about these shades, besides the looks, is that my sweat gets all over the lenses very easily. I have to constantly take them off and clean them. Also, you can't wear these things with regular street clothes with out looking silly, unless your a cop or a security guard...good luck pulling that off.

Frame construction befitting a $5 pair of glasses! Really!
Bottom Line:
I was given a pair of Oakley M Frame Pros, and I have always taken VERY good care of them, but two days ago, the frame simply SNAPPED IN HALF while I was putting them on! I had hoped that the frame was made of a high quality polymer, or a composite (fiber reinforced); they most certainly should be for the price! But NO, it seems it's just a piece of CHEAP, low-grade thermoplastic. I am extremely disappointed by this. Again, I was just putting them on when they broke, and I had taken great care of them. This is completely unacceptable for glasses that cost a tenth the price of these!
I will NEVER buy an Oakley product!

The VR28 lens that came with my set up is the best. It is an awesome all around lens. The next thing would be a gold iridium lens. The only problem that i've had with them are the polished aluminium frame chipped in like 3 spots. They're a bit pricey, but if you take care of em, they're the best all around glass. And in the future you can buy another lens and they're easy to interchange.

These can't be that bad! They're used by the Volvo/Cannondale team, the best international MTB team! The fit is excellent, great clarity and different lenses for different conditions. But it's expensive and the frames are inconsistent. I have a black and red frame, the black has a matt finish and the red has a powdercoat finish. The paint on the red is better and the frame is a bit stronger. The black frame loses the paint on the icon easily and the frame snapped when I tried to put it on. But I received a new frame from Oakley. Nice, but go for the new M frame. The said problems have disappeared. Except price of course, a trademark of Oakley.

Bottom Line:
I hesitate to review this product so quickly, but if this review changes I will update it. The non-hinged (single molded) frame take a bit of getting used to. But once you define your process of getting them on/off they are a breeze.I've heard of many problems with the original M-frames cracking and breaking with Oakley getting mixed reviews on product replacement and warranty. I've been told from several sources the Pro M frame has few of the problems inherent to the original M frames.
I've heard of two problems with the RX inserts. 1) In general they tend to crack and/or can be problematic (from what I've heard) . 2) If your eyesight is greater/equal to roughly a 3.0 diopter you can't use the inserts. The curvature of the lens is too great creating major distortion. According to Oakley, they will cut almost RX, however if it is greater then a 3.0 and you aren't happy with the inserts they will only offer to refund 25% of the total cost.Note, the Oakley web site doesn't make any reference to RX limitations and most bike shops may not be aware of these limitations either.
If you have good vision, wear contacts, or fall within the diopter range that can the frames can accommodate, you may be very happy with these sunglasses. Just be aware the lens are very susceptible to scratches (especially Iridium)! One final note, The ballistic box which (while very bulky) allows you to safely store your frame (with the installed lens), two additional lens and the cleaning/storage pouch. I'm pulling one star due to product cost, which I think is excessive. Otherwise it would be a perfect score.
