Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $400.00
Purchased At:ebay
Strengths:The best sunglsses ever worn. I got xmetal with ruby. The world is beautiful when you put this on. The lense is perfect for sunny day.
Weaknesses:f***ing expensive for a discontinued model. The most expensive I ever paid for a pair of shades. It didn't even got the "O" symbol on the frame.
Similar Products Used:minutes, splice, half jacket, razorwire.
Bike Setup:Good enough for the surroundings to notice my present.
Bottom Line:Superb!!!Chicks are eye -balling me when I'm wearing it (lol, notice it when I'm walking to my office every day). Guys must be jealous of me for having a discontinued and rare glasses. Oakley should be paying me for typing this...

Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $425.00
Purchased At:oakley
Strengths:I bought the Penny's with the ruby lenses just like the ones that Cyclops wears in X2 and X3. These sunglasses are made of titanium, very light, and you will stand out while wearing these. They stopped making these but released them again just for the xmen movie than it will be discontinued again. These sunglasses will not fall off your face no matter how much you shake your head and the nose peices fit comfortably on your nose.
Weaknesses:Expensive!!!
Similar Products Used:Oakley minutes, Oakley Gascan, Oakley four, Oakley twenty, Oakley Square wire, Oakley monsterdog, Spy, Arnette, Dragon optical, Tag Heuer
Bike Setup:GT
Bottom Line:If you want to look good and stand out in public, you should buy them. Also because cyclops wears them lol

Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $400.00
Purchased At:gift from fiancee
Strengths:Titanium frames. Spring hinges. Polycarbonate lenses. These things are probably indestructible (though at that price I'm not testing the hypothesis). Way cool, especially the x-metal/ruby iridium combo. Fit my small head great - I look like a goof in most of the frames out there.
Weaknesses:Oakley also makes great accessories - except the strings to hang the 'specs from your neck. Also, why not offer a couple more lens colors to further customize your look (i.e. like the half jacket line)
Similar Products Used:Ray-ban, FG's, maui-jims, spy
Bottom Line:Awsome pair of shades. I'd buy a second pair if they were half the price. Don't leave them in plain view in the car - they'll steal the shades and leave the PDA! Get Romeo or Juliet if you've got a "normal" size head

Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $300.00
Purchased At:Damn Sunglass Hut
Strengths:They are very strong and especially built for us with small faces. Nice look to them, makes you look sharp. Stay connected to your head while riding without them falling off and breaking!!
Weaknesses:Not a windblocker.. AT ALL. Some people think their heavy.(personally I think they feel like a well built pair of sunglasses) Way to fu!#@$g Much. Built for small faces.
Similar Products Used:Lol, not in this price range. Dont buy from sunglass hut!!!
Bike Setup:Intense M1, 9" haneBrink forks, Pro_taper Bars, Shorty2 Headpeice, Sram grip shift and rear derailer,Ringle pedals.. Hmm thats all I can think of...
Bottom Line:Awesome sunglasses, Just make sure you have your 9mm by your side though, way too EXPENSIVE to be stolen or lost.
If riding Downhill or freeride I would suggest Getting those little ropey things that connect to the back just in case they do fall over, And to prevent coming mad at your wife...... Anyways, BEST pair of sunglasses Ive ever had.

Date Reviewed: January 17, 2003
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $200.00
Purchased At:Ebay (new)
Strengths:One of the best futuristic looking design style sunglasses. Very high quality, solid durable construction with beautifully sculpted polished alloy metal finish and superb optical clarity on the lenses. The new spring hinges makes it much easier to wear on compared to other X-Metal models. Despite it's heavy metal weight, it amazingly feels invisibly light in weight and comfortable when worn, thus it defies gravity. It attracts attention easily with a million dollar look or simply wanna look intimidating like a mean bad ass Cyborg killing machine, who shows no mercy at all in a crowd!
Weaknesses:Rubber nose pads are not adjustable to fit on various nose shapes and sizes, which can cause lenses to fog sometimes. Not many choices on lens colors and is recommended for smaller heads only. Storage case is not included for such a high priced item, which you need to buy it separately for $30. Prescription RX lenses cost almost the same price as getting another pair of Oakley sunglasses. Ridiculously way overpriced for a brand name product!! Oakley warranty service is kinda pain in the butt, unless you live next door to their headquarters in California.
Similar Products Used:Oakley: Twenty, Juliet, M-Frame, XX

Bottom Line:I immediately fell in love with Penny sunglasses, when I first worn a demo and wanted one real badly! I got mine with a better deal from Ebay with free Soft Vault storage case included. I also purchased custom prescription silver mirrored lenses by Essilor at $130. It beautifully blends and matches with my silver polished Penny frames, as if made in one piece from same metal material. I think these custom Essilor mirrored lenses look much better and have better scratch resistance protection without any lens curvature distortions than my original Oakley black irridium lenses. I always wonder why Oakley doesn't offer any silver mirrored and fire irridium lenses for polished silver Penny frames?

These Penny sunglasses are a real blast, so enjoyable and fun to wear for a bold unique exclusive fashion statement. It is comparable to wearing an elegant masterpiece silver jewelry over your eyes. To make it short, it's a Ferrari of all sunglasses that will really impress anyone envying you with awe! I would highly recommend these Penny sunglasses to anyone who dares to look different, despite it's high price. You are basically paying for the top notch brand quality, durability, comfort, 100% optical protection and extremely gorgeous design styling looks. I just wish Oakley have lowered their prices much more reasonably and realistically than what they currently sell on the market. If Oakley had made improvements to the weaknesses mentioned above, then the Penny would have been picked easily as one the of the best sunglasses ever produced.

Date Reviewed: December 11, 2002
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $195.00
Purchased At:ebay(new)
Strengths:Cool style & lens color
Weaknesses:Nose bridge weak and unstable for $300 shades. You better have a small head as the ad says for smaller faces and they ain't kiddin'.Increase their size ever so little and they are in the cut. Not a wind blocker at any type of speed.
Similar Products Used:Revo, Ray Ban, Maui Jim, Gargoyles, heck.......almost all of them so take me serious
Bike Setup:Extreme, very extreme.
Bottom Line:Try 'em before you buy 'em. Average male head too big and make sure you have a straight nose and don't buy for wind blocking needs.Make sure to compare to the Juliet. Are the Penny style for girls? Why do they cost more than other X-Metals?My opinion.........worth about a yard. ($100 bucks to you noobs)

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $150.00
Purchased At:ha! not telling...
Strengths:they have attitude to spare, very durable, make your face stand out in a crowd
Weaknesses:VERY expensive... and they don't stay on top of my head if i don't need to use them temporarily (could just be my oily forhead tho... LoL)
Similar Products Used:20s
Bike Setup:fisher sugar 4 w/ 2002 psylos... cane creek ad5... monkeylite bars... umm.. that's all that is worth mentioning... =P
Bottom Line:absolutely the best pair of glasses i've ever owned, and i've gone through a LOT. people say they're pretty heavy, but personally, i never even notice the difference. always carry a crowbar with you, cuz these things stay glued to your head no matter WHAT you do! make sure you go deal hunting... they're a little pricey. ideal for anyone who wants to look/be cool, and doesn't mind spending their life savings to do so.
