Bottom Line:
Why are ppl using them for mtn biking? Its like using basketball shoes for running. Sure they work but not what they are intended for. Wear tehm for what they are built for and you will love them.

3 months and one of the vars remained in my hands. I had to pay 70 euro for substitution even if they were guaranteed. Definitely a very bad deal. I will never buy again an oakley product

Strengths:
Oakley optics Fashionable when not riding
Weaknesses:
(for biking)- ear stems bend easliy, lenses scratch easily, I was still poked in the eye with a branch when I riding with these
Similar Products Used:
many oakley products and Scott USA stuff
Bottom Line:
Fashion dosen't go far for biking... I own two pairs of oakleys and Love em both, but the ugly ones (racing jackets) are for riding and these are for around town... or were before I broke 'em on a trail. For biking glasses, there are much better out there, Pro-ms or racing jackets to mention oakley products...

Distinctive Cool looks, lightweight, great optics.Lenses can be replace for a sweet price and great customer service.
Weaknesses:
Lenses scratch easily.Once coating rubs off,you can't see through them.Very hard to fix frames once bent. Not for aggresive riding.
Similar Products Used:
Oakley E-Wires(2 more)IronMan Triathalon(Foster Grant lenses),Divehades Atlantic,Oakley M-Frames(3 pair,different lenses)Fake E-Wires and an unknown but cool/clear wraparounds.
Bike Setup:
Very, very, very fast!!! Ok,Intense,Specialized and Schwinn...all Shimano XT and Suntour XC Expert equipped and all hardtails!Sold the duelie.Sorry.
Bottom Line:
Great optics.I'm somewhat a little nearsighted but wearing the Oakleys sharpened the edges.Sometimes I forget I need to wear subscription lenses.Lenses sharpen details on low-light,bright light and shaded areas. No Distortion!!!! E-Wires have a distinctive look and is copied by others.Fakes suck!Give it up,you can tell they're fake.Just spend the money on real ones. Iridescent blue lenses are sweet but scratch easy.Once the coating rubs off, they are useless. Can't see through them but the lenses can be replaced at a price close to a pair of other, inferior $40 shades.I have the old models. The new redesigned E-Wires may be better.I just don't really like the way the new models look. Oakley does have great customer service.Oakley will be my main brand for now on!

Strengths:
pimp look,light weight,good design(for their intended use)
these glasses were great for cruising around picking up chicks but for hard riding, off road or not, they weren't very useful.you couldn't change the lenses and they were pretty fragile.they finally gave way after a year and i was pleased with their performance but like i said, i can't rag on them for sucking while i riding because they weren't designed for that.so my own rating is 5 stars for the pimp factor, but only 2 for riding.and not too badly priced for oakley.

Bottom Line:
Great looking high quality glasses. Gold iridium lenses give a great clarity and shading. I bought mine more than three years ago and they still look cool. They are so light you almost forget they sit on your nose. I use them mostly casual, not for riding, because they don't stop the air from blowing into your eyes. For riding purposes I wear something else.

Strengths:
Look great - sticky fit - bendable frame
Weaknesses:
Black iridium too dark for riding - very expensive in UK
Similar Products Used:
none
Bottom Line:
I wear these for casual use and driving, but I wish I'd got the Gold Iridium rather than the black - the gold really does enhance clarity (my previous Fives were gold).
The best thing about Wires is that you can (gently) bend the frame to fit your face like no plastic frame will.
Oakley must be smoking somethng with the prices they charge in the UK (£120 for E-Wires), but I picked mine up in Andorra for £80

Strengths:
Fit, no glare at all, seem to be durable, very nice looking. I got the gold lense/gold frame.
Weaknesses:
Does not keep wind out!
Similar Products Used:
just cheap stuff
Bike Setup:
99 Schwinn Moab 2, Judy C, LX, Avid breaks.
Bottom Line:
I really love the look and the feel of these glasses. However they really aren't meant for riding. I've put in about 1000 miles with them and they do an absolutely terrible job at keeping wind out of your eyes. I've tried as long as I could to bear with them, but I recently sold them to a non-biking buddy and am using that money to buy some Smith Slider Bazookas. Hopefully I'll have better luck with those. So in conclusion, these are great shades, just not for active bikers like us!

As with all Oakley products, the clarity is second to none. I don't use these for riding as they don't feel right. The M Frames are a better option for riding. A bit pricey though, and the new frames cost even more than th older style frames, but they look better.
