    Favorite Trail:mt. stromlo
    Duration Product Used:2 Years
    Price Paid: $1000.00
    Purchased At:drift bike style
Strengths:great all rounder. capable of riding rough trails while still being quite light
Weaknesses:lack of external fork tuning (only has travel and rebound)
    Bike Setup:pretty much stock
Bottom Line:the fork has a travel range of 85mm to 130mm which really has the power to transform the bike. you could easily slim it down to make a xc racer or beef it up for some rough all mountain action; or you can find a happy medium between the two.

Favorite Trail:anything with a good mix
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
    Price Paid: $43.00
    Purchased At:eugene bicycle works
Strengths:strong, and i got it CHEAP
Weaknesses:no rear disc mount (i know it's just a sin these days, lol)
Similar Products Used:cannondale m1000, other random steel hardtails
Bike Setup:manitou x-vert, xt/xtr drivetrain, rhynolite rims and dh tires
Bottom Line:this is a review of the old school nitro xc, believe it was made from reynolds 853? i built this bike before the all-mountain craze got big on the market. it climbs well for having an x-vert on it, AND it bombs downhill like a champ. great strong, economical frame. doesn't punish you like some of those stiff aluminum frames out there. oh, and did i mention it's strong??

Strengths:this is a great bike with mostly good components
    Weaknesses:the forks and the crankset
    Bike Setup:nitro with LX crank/bb
Bottom Line:if you want a good bike that won`t empty your bank account go with this bike but I`d suggest upgrading the fork right off the hop

Submitted by Ryan a Weekend Warrior from Toronto, Canada
    Date Reviewed: August 20, 2006
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $1100.00
    Purchased At:Silent Sports
Strengths:Great stock brakes with Avid Juicy 5 7". Like the frame and basic set up--paid a good price. Great Norco construction.
Weaknesses:Rockshox Tora 302 U-turn is a decent entry-level fork, but I think this bike deserves atleast a Revelation model from Rockshox. Mavic CrossRide rims are nice entry-level enthusiast rims, but they bent on me after a couple weeks and I had to have them sent to the factory. 3 week wait.
Similar Products Used:Specialized Rockhopper Comp, Cannondale Rush, Commencal Meta, Jamis Dakar Sport
Bike Setup:Avid Juicy 5 7" disc brakes, XT derailleurs, Thomson Elite stem & seatpost, Selle Italia C2 saddle, Cane creek bar ends
Bottom Line:Great set-up for the money, and the 2007 model is looking even better. This bike really is all-mountain and it eats up some decent terrain.
