Favorite Trail:Homemade North-Shore style track
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $762.00
Purchased At:Savages Bicycle Cent
Strengths:Its a beast! Takes HUGE drops with ease, balanced, ready for more travel!
Weaknesses:Nothing...I had it built to not have a weakness. Modeled it after Clint Eastwood chiseled face.
Similar Products Used:DMR, Santa Cruz, and Marin hardtails, Norco A-Line...although not really similar other than big travel and hydrolics.
Bike Setup:2007 Norco rampage frame, 2008 Marzzochi 55R TST2 160mm, Avid Juicy 3's, Kenda Nevegals, Howitzer, Husselfelt, DMR Wingbars, Deore drivetrain...looking to upgrade to HammerSchmidt crankset already.
Bottom Line:This bike is BAD. The best bike I've owned and one of the best bikes I've ever ridden.

Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Strengths:Frame is super burley! Who needs a Dualie with hardtails this bad ass.
Weaknesses:Like most production bikes, stock components tend to suck...
Similar Products Used:Morphine, Sasquatch, Shore series
Bike Setup:Lots of upgrades...
Bottom Line:My Rampage is an '04 and I'm going into my 4th season riding this beast. I'm not sure this frame will ever need retirement, just too damn burly! Even with huge wrecks, no dings or dents, just warpaint wounds on the paint job. Since then I have ridden alot of newer bikes and at the end of the day, nothing beats my Rampage! I find to ride a FS bike in the same category as the Rampage, you give up alot of performance to have that extra cush over the rough stuff and drops. I'd rather suck up the hits, keep my performance and have a lower maintance bike. I believe since the '04 model Norco has changed some angles and frame materials on the new Rampages, but hands down, this bike kicks ass! I've done alot of upgrades and somehow made it heavier! Mines weighing at 42 pounds right now. My biggest dilema is, to put a 888 on the front or not. Hmmmmmm

Strengths:Everything so far, i just bought it last night(2006 rampage). I love the frame and fork(Marchozzi dropoff2).
Weaknesses:Just the seat as of now, uncomfortable, but i guess it's not meant to be sat on for along time anyways.

Price Paid: $1200.00
Purchased At:BIKELAND - Barrie
Strengths:Bombproof frame, fork is amazing and very tunable, awesome performance.
Weaknesses:I would have liked to have a little more travel, singletrack rims aren't strong, it's heavy but you get used to that. Also my alivio front derailleur is messed and has to be adjusted before every ride.
Similar Products Used:norco manik, brodie brute.
Bike Setup:stock with MTX rims and am upgrading derailleur soon.
Bottom Line:This is the 2005 model so you can get an amazing deal on it- it's a great bike for the money. Just upgrade the rims and the front derailleur and it's the best downhill freeride hardtail out there. Amazing performance, tracks well, easy to handle once you're used to the wieght. It very stable in the air and it looks great too. I highly reccomend you get this bike ifyou ride hardtail downhill and freeride, as well as dirt jumping .The only thing better is probably a morphine- but with better rims and derailleur, the rampage is WAY CHEAPER. Definatley nothing better in looks. performance and especially value.

Strengths:Nice components, super strong frame, brown is a sick colour.
Weaknesses:yeah it's heavy I guess, but it's perfectly suited for what its meant for, a good downhill/freeride hardtail, good luck braking it. Not a huge fan of the fork, but for the price not bad

Strengths:Reviewing 2005 model.
Z1 FR2's are damn nice...solid!
150x12mm rear is solid and tracks well.
SEXY looking bike!!!
Weaknesses:Singletrack rims are absolute rubbish if you want to do anything more than aggressive trails riding, rear rim blew out on 4 footers. Truvativ husselfelt cranks are pretty weak, and thread strip easily. After the first 25hours of riding, I pulled apart my forks and found metal fillings left in the damper leg (right)...
The front kenda tyre doesn't tack very well on corners.
Similar Products Used:Manik, STP 1(similar spec)
Bike Setup:LX/XTR, Saint cranks, Hadley/Mavic rear wheel.
Bottom Line:I paid about US$1300 for the bike initially, and then spent another US$600 upgrading/fixing it... but it's turned out to be an absolute bomb proof bike!

Out of the box it's a fantastic bike. But with a few upgrades here and there, and a few personal touches

However, if you have the money get the Torrent. I would have saved a fair bit of money if I had done that... but now my bike's better than a torrent, bar the forks.

Strengths:frame is nice and built. things only break if you bash it super hard or your a dumbass and dont know how to put it on right. the fork takes punishment, and you can plow through anything on this one.
Weaknesses:the front and back shifters should be beter but they are light. the pins on the truvativ pedals arnt replaceable but meh, they last for long enough.
Similar Products Used:to many
Bike Setup:just shifters and brakes are stock
Bottom Line:this is a gooder, i agree when people say that this is not a light street bike, but that can be easily changed by putting a lighter set of tires on it. alot of the components are downhill or beefy so no wonder its heavy. the fork with its pretty decent travel is nice to have incase some mishap happens lol....id say this is a dirt jumper and trail bike for sure, DH maybe, you can take this on the street just modify it a bit to make it a lil lighter thats all......personally its not heavy, norco did a good job especially for the value of this bike. i gave this bike 5 chilis because it goes above the expectations that i expected. keep on truckin norco.......

Buy this bike then get a double track in the back, single in the front, new pedals and a new seat and ull be set to hit anything. Real fun bike, although i had some problems at first, but thatwas because john henrys royally skrewed up in putting together the bike. Disks were off alignment, bb was loose, seat was crazy loose and a few more fixable problems. However, the seat being loose was a major factor in it bending. Great bike though, buy it! Bottom Line:For the money-- it is great. All around dope bike. Needs stock Dual crown because it is not light enough for DJ and a single Crown is no good for DH runs or freeride. I set mine up to rip urban and still hit pedally DH trails. Takes drops like a champ. Feels like a quality bike. Bottom Line:I bought this bike for downhill racing and it has not disappointed! On the trail it is very comfortable and climbs well for its weight and instills confidence when hucking.
I was originally looking for an 03 NORCO hardtail but glad I waited for the 04's!
I wanted a dual crown fork but I am very impressed with the performance of the DJ 2 so it will stick around for awhile.
I have heard of problems with the HFX levers but braking performance is impressive. Keep an eye on your lever adjustment screw! and a 2mm allen wrench handy.
I will upgrade components as they wear but the frame is here to stay.

Bottom Line:Overall, I love this bike. I don't regret the choice at all. The shocks were a little soft after breaking in the first day but I just had them pumped up and now they're great. The frame is absolutly solid. This bikes been off 6 foot to flat and 12 footers with landings, no bottom, no problem. Truvativ components are cheap but just as strong and pretty as the competition. Pedals with changable pins would be nice but for the price... They also could have stepped up to xt components but again for the price who's complaining. The LX works fine exept under heavy torque it's pretty crunchable. The brakes work great when they work but I haven't had this bike long enough for them to fall apart twice and break a seal leaking all the fluid. they don't work so well with no juice. also the levers never want to stay where I adjusted them. The seat bent as well but I was able to bend it back with a pipe wrench. After all is said and done, I really couldn't be happier with this bike, I just like picking stupid little things

Strengths:DJ2 fork never bottoms out, however it is loud over small bumps... Truvativ components are tough-- should have removable pins in the pedals however. Great geometry, if you keep the seat post up you can do a little cross country riding. Rims are holding up well, haven't been trued yet.
Weaknesses:Derailers: alivio in front with LX in the rear not the best set... Overall bike weight is on the upside, especially for a hardtail, but I'd rather ride a 40lb bike than a broken one.
Similar Products Used:specialized P.3, cannondale chase
Bike Setup:Stock as of yet... Came with Kenda 2.5's on it which weren't in the specs however.
Bottom Line:I'm lucky to even find this bike in wisconsin. This bike is great for urban and freeride/dirt jumping. It is a heavy bike, but it handles extremely well and corners like a dream. If your looking for a tough, light downhill bike but don't have 3000+ to drop on a dully take a look at this bike... Plus rear suspension is for wusses.

Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $1330.00
Strengths:the forks are great but they lack the light weight. the breaks are noisy but they give the best stopping power.
Weaknesses:the forks are a bit to heavy and the breaks to loud
Similar Products Used:norco manik, norco torrent, norco sasquatch
kona roast
Bottom Line:the bottom line is that it is great on most DH tracks but it excells in the north shore tracks. you should buy it if you are interested in doing some freeride, DH, dirt jump & north shore work and still want to have left over change to pay for the gas to get home.

Strengths:frame is a blast to ride. Cranks are awesome except from the creaking noises. front-rear derailler work awesome but rear is a bit weak i hit a log and bent it.
Weaknesses:forks forks forks!!!! what are norco thinking putting dj2s on the rampage. I bought this bike to freeride and the forks are just terrible. If your a dirt jumper this bike is of you unless you change the forks.
Similar Products Used:z150fr
Bike Setup:stock.
Bottom Line:well the frame and cranks are the only upside to this bike. The forks are pieces of sh!t unless you are a dirt jumper and i would recommend changing them or just not buying this bike at all. The rear derailler is just to weak i knocked it on a log and it bent had to get a new one. Well as everybody would agree you cant beat Norco's value for money but the overall rating this bike is a hardcore dirt jumper and most of the componetry is just plain weak.

Price Paid: $1300.00
Purchased At:Desert Cycles
Strengths:Frame is a real plus. The slant makes monoing real easy. Front and rear derailler work a charm.
Weaknesses:Unfortunatly there are many in my case.
Bike Setup:Stock, Hope to cahnge the forks in the near future, perhaps to Z150's
Bottom Line:The Rampage should have been set up with tripple clampers or Z150's not the DJ2's that Norco decided to use. The Hayes brakes make too much noise, however have fairly good stopping power. All in all being a freerider this bike isn't realy for me, its more a dirt jumper (i suppose that's why they put DJ2's on it).
I gave this bike the 3 chili rating due to the fact that it is a good dirt jumper, it was only due to my error that i chose the wrong type of bike for me.

Bottom Line:This bike is insane. Its so tough, it can take bails of bridges and be ready for more before i am. They arent joking when they say SHORE HARDTAIL this bike owns on the bridges gives you total confidence and u try things and do things u never thought were possible. The six inch dj2 in the front are the $h!t. Havent bottomed em once. Work perfectly i didnt even do n e thing to em when i nose dived harsh on a 5 fter. This bike rails on the trails. I love this bike. It also looks like one dope ride and it sure draws in teh attention of the ladies. Let me say one last thing ... IF U CAN TAKE IT THIS BIKE CAN TAKE IT!
