Favorite Trail:James Street / Guelph Radial
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $4750.00
Purchased At:Bits, Bikes & Boards
Strengths:This is a fully customized bike, built from specifically for me to create the perfect All-Mountain / Light Freeride bike. The Norco frame is relatively light, incredibly strong and the suspension system works exceedingly well. I can keep up w/ my friends on 26 lbs. XC bikes w/ this 33 lbs. beast but then go flying off a 6 ft. stairset to flat without worrying about it.
Weaknesses:I was trying to make it 30 lbs. but settled for around 33 as it was just too difficult to have the components I wanted and stay under my weight spec. My only minor complaint is w/ the front derailleur setup... It doesn't always work but rather gets hung up which is frustrating.

Bike Setup:Norco Fluid 2.0 Medium Frame w/ Fox Float RL(2004), Marzocchi Shiver SC 120mm w/ custom fitted SRAM Remote Lockout, SRAM X.9 Left Gripshift & X.9 Right Trigger Shifter, Avid Juicy 7 Brakes (8"F,6"R), Race Face Diabolus 31.8 Handlebars, ODI Rogue Grips, Thomson Elite x4 Stem, Race Face Diabolus Headset, Titec Scoper Seatpost, WTB Rocket V Race Saddle, Race Face Atlas Crankset w/ eNVy 38/28 and e-13 Chainguide, Crank Bros. Mallet M Pedals, Mavic 217 Rims w/ Dimension QR20 Front Hub & Shimano XT Rear Hub (36 Spoke), WTB Weirwolf 2.3" Front / 2.1" Rear Tires, SRAM X-7 Rear Derailleur, Shimano Hone Front Derailleur, SRAM PG-970 Cassette, SRAM PC-69 Chain.
Bottom Line:All the components listed above are amazing. I really couldn't be much happier w/ how the build turned out and am looking forward to the spring season so I can push the bike to its full potential.

Date Reviewed: March 26, 2004
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $1800.00
Purchased At:Endeavour Cycles
Strengths:Frame and standard componentry (bombers, fox, XT, hayes)
Weaknesses:None yet, pretty confident none will be found
Similar Products Used:My first dually. Had a Norco bigfoot which was great
Bike Setup:Standard except for semi slick tyres
Bottom Line:I always loved the thought of a dually, but never committed because of the bob factor and weight. (My mates are using old technology). No probs with Fox - just lock it, but anyways, even unlocked it rarely bobs unless accelerating hard on hard sufaces (only minimal). It's a little heavier than my previous ride (hardtail) but the plushness and quality more than makes up for it and the only time I've noticed the weight is when I pick it up - not riding!. Hayes hydraulic, bombers, fox float rl, deore XT and a bunch of other great stuff. Just awesome!!!

Date Reviewed: March 16, 2004
Duration Product Used:Tested or demo'ed only
Price Paid: $1500.00
Strengths:Norco quality, good parts spec, light tough frame.
Weaknesses:Well, its not a free ride bike...
Similar Products Used:2003 Fluid 1
Bottom Line:The only problems with the 2003 Fluid 2 was the skinny tires (fixed), the weak rims (fixed) the non-telescopic seat post (fixed for 04) and the mech disc brakes (fixed for 04). This is a great all-around trail bike with an awesome frame built to last!
