Favorite Trail:moab
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $850.00
Purchased At:americancylces
Strengths:Looks sexy, Strongly built bike, worth all the money.
Weaknesses:none
Similar Products Used:Kona kikapu, Jamis xlt
Bike Setup:fork: Manitou munite 3 130mm travel, rearshox rp3 (upgraded), xtr drive train, xt wheel set, avid bb7 brakes, kenda small blocks tire size 1.95
Bottom Line:This bike is fully customized, specially built according to my specs. bought the frame for $850.00 and put some of my old stuff in it including the rear rp3. With this setup this bike turned into the one bike for me. It's so much fun to ride, there is nothing on its way that it can not handle. if you are looking at upgrading your frame to something as good as the most expensive bikes out there this highly recommended. the best bike for adventure and fun rides. and doesn't mind doing DH and at the same time riding side by side with xc.

Date Reviewed: November 30, 2007
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $3200.00
Strengths:Pearl white color looks cool, very strong frame, can handle technical single track well, can climb well inspite of the long travel and long fork. very good fro its intended application as an all mountain bike.
Weaknesses:none so far
Similar Products Used:None this is my first all mountain bike
Bike Setup:With Fox Talas RLC 140mm travel set to 120mm,manitou swinger 3 way air rear shox shimano xt drive train, American classic hubs, dt swiss revolution spokes, mavic 717 rims and Kenda nevagal size 2.0 tires
Total weight: 13.3 kilograms
Bottom Line:This is a very good bike, most of my buddies ride hard tails and inspite of that I can still manage not to be left behind. On the descent and technical trails I always overtook them. no pedal bob at all even when I am standing and mashing on the bike pedal on a steep climb. This is a very good all mountain bike.

Date Reviewed: August 2, 2005
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $1300.00
Purchased At:2nd hand
Strengths:looove the vps frame. it looks sofa king cool. I have an 03 the candy apple red looks great. pedal bob is non existant if you're sitting.
Weaknesses:rear shock it too light. I weigh 200 lbs and with the shock at 185psi I bottom on 3' drops. there might be more weaknesses, the bike i bought was very modified when I got it. seat height is critical. if the post is too low, you WILL bind the suspention linkage, chipping paint and making bad noises. Too expensive for me to buy new. Hooray for PinkBike.com
Bike Setup:fox vanilla r fork, 8" f/r brakes, lock-on grips, fsa crankset, wtb weirwolf front tire, tioga team xc rear, some other stuff.
Bottom Line:It's a 5 n'5 trail bike thats easy to pedal, great components, it is a good freeride bike if you arn't doing stupid drops. It looks way better than old school triangle bikes. It would be nice to have the adjustable travel fork to make climbing easier.

Favorite Trail:ANY
Duration Product Used:Tested or demo'ed only
Price Paid: $2500.00
Strengths:Norco quality, great tough light frame. Excellent parts spec.
Weaknesses:Hmmmm - well its not a free ride bike...
Similar Products Used:2003 Norco Fluid 1
Bike Setup:My 2003 has 2.3 inch Maxxis mofo tires, Shimano DX clipless pedals and a Fox Vanilla 125 RLC fork.
Bottom Line:NORCO LISTENS! There were two schools of thought on the 2003 fluids - those who really wanted a 2002 fluid free-ride bike hated em. Those who wanted the best all mountain bike available loved them except for the tires (too thin), rims (too weak) and seat-post (not telescoping). Well - NORCO FIXED IT ALL!! Kudo's to norco for listening to the MTB public!
