I'm glad I have an older bike with sweet parts | | Weaknesses: | shifters, grips, pedals...I replaced all of them though.
The Z-5 fork is a little soft for me (200 lbs), but I just gotta get heavier springs. | | Similar Products Used: | Brothers Sasquatch | | Bike Setup: | stock except I got XT shifters to replace the SRAM Halfpipe ones. Also got FUNN Head Huncho stem, head banger headset, soljam viper pedals, and full on bar. GO FUNN
And new Formula Evo hydro disc brakes, to replace the older model of the same thing. | | Bottom Line: | The bike rocks. IT is really really light. It has a great "get up and go" feeling...kinda feeling like you could win a tour de france on it even though its a freeride hardtail.
Ever since I got this bike I feel more confident..
the bike is kinda pimpin and you get looks as you roll by.

A perfect setup for anything, I use it for trials/urbanstreet trials, and the previous owner raced Downhill on it. RAD tubing, so you can't go wrong. | | Weaknesses: | None so far. Only thing it is hard to get used to getting the front end up | | Similar Products Used: | Sasquatch, bigfoot | | Bike Setup: | I have it on the stock parts of the 01 sasquatch which includes a z5 coil. I also have front and rear hmx1's. | | Bottom Line: | Great frame for about anything, except day long xc. I know of a person who went HUGE on this bike, did a road gap, but eventually ovalised the headtube, which is not likely at all to happen so i say go with this bike. $1150.00 | | Strengths: | The rear end of the frame absorbs shocks surprisingly well. Fork has good travel. The whole rig feels quick and light for its weight. | | Weaknesses: | Twist shifters definitely must go (these ones are especially nasty). The stock setting of the shocks have been tuned for people who are fairly lightweight (140-150lbs). But this is all nitpick - it can all be remedied quickly by your bike store. | | Similar Products Used: | Kona Roast, Trek Bruiser 2 | | Bike Setup: | stock | | Bottom Line: | Good value, and nice setup. Considering how everything else feels right, makes me chuckle to think what the product manager was smoking when he put in the twist shifters. Those who prefer more technical style of riding might want to get a shorter travel fork that's more adjustable; those who like to drop a lot should be fairly happy with what's on the stock setup already. | | Value Rating:Overall Rating: |

The only way I think I could brake this frame is to throw it under a truck and run it over repeatedly. The stock Z5 Q/R 20 130mm has beautifly precise steering. The Truvativ Hussfelt Cranks are flawless | | Weaknesses: | For a bike that is meant to be droped off cliffs it should have heavey springs in the Z5 instead of the stock medium springs. The Formula disk brakes take alot of bleeding and brake in to get them running right but once that's over they work great. The bike comes stock with SRAM Attack HalfPipe shifters, which makes no sense considering that this bike is designed for air and technica lines. The handle is too long and they shift too much. | | Similar Products Used: | Marin Quake, Specialized P3 | | Bike Setup: | the person who did the stats on this site screwed up big. Norco's only Rampage for 2001 is Easton RAD tubing, with a Marzocchi Z5 Q/R 20 130mm, SunRhinoLight rims, Formula Disk Brakes and Hubs, Truvative Hussfelt DH Cranks and BB, XT rear/LX front, SRAM Shorty Rocket shifters. | | Bottom Line: | This bike will take anything. The Z5 will hold up to anything including missed takeoffs. Make two quick adjustments by switching to shorter shifters of rapidfire and get the stiffer springs for the Z5 and your ready to roll. Freeriding, DS, DH, this bike even climbs as well as XC frames that I've had in the past, thought it is a bit heavy. Bottom line is that you won't find a bike specked anywhere near this good in it's price range. approx $1800cdn
