Strengths:
f**kin strong frame i took this baby off 9 foot roofs 10 foot stair gaps and 6 foot wheelie drops and it holds up fine after years of this and it is supposed to be a crosscountry hardtail!
Weaknesses:
the shox upgraded to judy tt (not much of an upgrade) crappy rims (i got mammoth and ryno lite) the deraileurs wore out got deore it came with flat bars (got easton risers)it came with crappy 3 piece bottom bracked wtf got new crank and b.b. (cartrage) i luv my bike!!!!
bigfoot with judy tt sunrims mammoth and ryno lite rims deore and alivio deraileurs eason bars lx bottom bracket with brand new powder coated alivio 2002 crank
Bottom Line:
this bike is friggin wicked i do everythin on this bike i do freeride/urban assult, dirt jumpin and even sum trials and it takes it all!!!! when i do i big drop and land expecting to break the frame in two the bike looks back and says is that all u got bytch!!!! the bottom line is it takes a lickin and keeps on clickin!!!!

Strengths:
Nice stiff frame, sun rims zj18, nice components for the price paid. This is a good bike for entry level racing
Weaknesses:
Front fork has little travel and spokes come loose on the wheels.
This is a quality bike for the price paid, and i would like to see you find sun rims on a bike for $500 U.S. I found this bike nice off road and on. I even use this bike for some freeriding and had no problems.

cheap, strong frame.

Bike Setup:

Bottom Line:
This is a very good bike if you are just starting racing so long as you change the shocks. It is a good first bike with front suspension, but if you are looking to upgrade your hardtail I would definitly not buy this bike. The frame is strong and has not snapped for me.

Strengths:
Light durable frame, deore rear derailer, rims (the ones i got were on a special deal)
Weaknesses:
Shocks, Pedals, components could be a bit stronger, Norco seats are just s**t
Similar Products Used:
Norco Storm, Kona blast, Giant
Bike Setup:
Factory except mine came woth jetts on the front. I also put a WTB saddle instead of that Norco s**t that comes with all norco's
Bottom Line:
All up this bike rocks for the price you have to pay. Maybe a little weak in the components and shocks but what can you expect for a bike this cheap. Great for a newcomer

Strengths:
Good price. Frame is strong and fairly light. STXRC hubs and rear mech are great. Really easy to take off and easy to get used to.
Weaknesses:
Rock Shox jetts are c**p. They keep frezzing up when very they get wet. The Alex rims are weak, i got a flat spot in about two weeks and a really bad buckle in about 3 months. The breaks are cheap and not all that powerful they are Acera - enough said. I bought it two weeks before the store marked it down $150aus.
Similar Products Used:
Only a c**py no name brand rigid. A few goes on my mates '99 Nishiki Rockhound, which is the same, but the bigfoot has
Bike Setup:
Factory set up, but i'm going to get new rims.
Bottom Line:
Cool looking bike but if your going to buy it get better shoxs and change the breaks to Alivo or higher. Other than that it's a damm cool bike.

Strengths:
I like the Jett Shox, I know they are said to be crap, but for a novice, they seemed to have plenty of bounce, and after having my rigid frame, they definitely are better.
Weaknesses:
Front Derallier just hasn't been right since I bought it. Will take it back a 2nd time to the store (who tried to palm me off on STX as a manufacturers "change without notice" for Deore! - even though changing the rear derallier only is just a gimmick, I wasnt about to be downscaled! The saddle & grips, still a tad uncomfortable.
Similar Products Used:
none (last bike was a rigid KHS)
Bike Setup:
Alivier + Deore (Deore rear derallier is just a gimmick) Rock Shox...even though a Y2k bike, they must be old 1999 stock in NZ as my Rock Shox say 1999!
Bottom Line:
I like it. But feel a bit miffed that it will be useless for real offroading. The price in NZ was $NZ1699 $US900 ? but cut to half price (I believe it represents good value at half price, which is what i supposedly bought it for, the intial price is somewhat dubious!!)
I would probably buy Nitro if I had a second chance, but hey i just stuff around anyway! Why buy a formula one when you are a mini driver!

Great spec, STXRC hubs and rear derailleur. Good frame, price.
Weaknesses:
Rock Shox Jett forks, rims not all that great
Similar Products Used:
Giant Yukon SE, Diamonback Something or other, Trek 820.
Bike Setup:
Factory set-up (didn't have time to upgrade)
Bottom Line:
Great bike for the price. Ideal for the beginner to get into off-roading. If some utter *@@* hadn't stolen it I'd still be using it today. Shocks no good for my 90Kgs.

Strengths:
This bike is pretty light and has handled really well in all kinds of conditions (rain, dry, snow, mut, etc.) Its got a good feel to it - real stable, and thus far, no major damage after tons of hardcore riding.
Weaknesses:
The rear rim got a bit warped about 3 months in. I'm still convinced its a factory defect.
Similar Products Used:

Bottom Line:
This bike is an excellent entry level model for the price that you pay. It seems to have what it takes to take the hard knocks, but it doesn't empty your wallet at the same time.
