    Favorite Trail:Delmea ( Vedder )
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $1200.00
    Purchased At:pinkbike.com
Strengths:This bike is a 2001 Norco Shore, and it has Super T's on the front.2 2.7' highroller tires and double track rims.

By far the best bike I have ever ridin. When taking drops with this bike I cant help but smile. It sounds so sweet and solid when doing stuff no loud anyoing noises. This is a mint bike.
Even though it is 2001, I think it out performs all other bikes. My weight is about 135-140 and these shocks have not bottomed out. When I land 5-6 foot drops to flat it only makes a little squash sound, its awesome. This bike has made all my dreams about having an awesome bike come true!!
Basicly the best thing I have ever done!
Better than having my first car!!( almost, that was pretty sweet too, but this is definatly up there )
Weaknesses:Seroiusly none, maybe when im like 170 or 180 pounds, I would have to get Monster T's, but that wont be anytime soon.
Similar Products Used:Kona Stinky-2001 This bike is sweet, but not enough suspension. Still an awesome biek though, built tough.
Norco A-Line 2003 This bike is a large frame, and it feels
like 60 pounds way to heavy, its way to big. This bike does look mint and very expensive.
Bike Setup:My bike is all stock and I couldnt have asked for more :)
Bottom Line:Bottom line I have a Norco F*%!ing Shore and I think this bike is the mintest bike I have ever riden. So smooth. So sweet. I will become a better rider and be 100 times more confident. And thats what its all about man. If you are thinking about a Shore, you will not regrete buying this bike. Just make sure everything is mint on it.

Bottom Line:buy a shore, 01 or 02, they both kick ass, strong as hell, and reliable. it looks great and runs even better. this is a true free ride beast, for all of you out there looking for a bike that can so it all go to the shore, you wont be disapointed.

    Strengths:everything!
if you run a 24" wheel on the rear you can fit a 3" tyre. i run a irc kujo in the rear, it works great.
    Weaknesses:weak ass paint,crap side plates.

Bottom Line:all i can say is that this vps shore is one amazing rig, built ta take on all kindz ov abuse, big drops,DH,single track, dirt jumps,urban.......the dude above that had problems break'n his bike must have had a bad production run, maybe his was made on a friday..LOL....anyway if ya want a great do it all bike the shore is made for you.

Strengths:price, fork is decent, realy nimble handeling for a heavy bike,
    Weaknesses:it broke TWICE!!!
i broke the seat stay like a month after i got it... it broke by the caliper.... then i broke it again near the end of the season up at the top of the stay! the chainguide that came on it sucks! the chainline itself is kinda whakked...dropouts are a Wh0re! to get ahold of! (well for most people)
Similar Products Used:brodie devo, giant ac1, kona stinky delux, santa cruz bullit
Bike Setup:stock with a gazzis, different guide (chainguides are a wh0re on this bike) and the 9.0 sl derailer broke so i put on a 5.0
Bottom Line:the ride of this bike is nice! i must say... it rides better (in my opinion) than a devo and a bullit, but the freeking thing keeps breaking!!!! i have cracked the seat stays right off TWICE!! and not even in the same place! warrenty has covered it both times but DAMN what a pain in the A$$! the chainline just isnt straight and the pivot gets in the way of sum of the guides... the dropouts are kinda tuff to get ahold of.. i have heard of guys that are without there bikes for a month cos of no dropout being available! SO overall the bike comes with a pretty decent parts kit...OTHER THAN THE REAR HUB AND GUIDE!!!!! the rear hub is a piece too! but the bike does have a nice ride to it if it would stop falling apart! if i could do it all again i would look into a different bike alot more first.......?

    Duration Product Used:6 months
    Price Paid: $1000.00
    Purchased At:Frameset at Dunbar Cycles
    Strengths:Frame strength
Geometry and size- great for technical Shore stuff, without the long wheelbase or huge feeling of full DH bikes. Feels lighter than it is.
Weaknesses:Doesn't yet use full set of sealed bearings for 2001, (though it will for 2002) so there's still some maintenance
Similar Products Used:Previous VPS's, Specialized DH Pro and Big Hit Pro, Trek VRX, GT XCR-1000
Bike Setup:Almost stock: Super T's Hayes 8" (6" rear), full XT 8sp drive, Raceface ISIS Shore cranks, yadayadayada....
Bottom Line:This model addresses most of the shortcomings of previous ones - more rear travel (6"), with a substantially more rising rate (for hucks) than before, though a tad too much for me. Vastly improved main pivot and swingarm, but with less tire clearance now for 26" wheels (2.5"max)Should get more with 24" wheels. I've heard of a few seatstays breaking at the caliper mount, but that's been reinforced in later swingarms, and warranty has apparently been good with that. Overall, I'd have to say that this is an very capable bike for its purpose, without even having to mention that its also great for the price.

Bike Setup:all stock except for Maxxis tires 2.5 and msrp chain guide.
Bottom Line:This is bomb proof! You know that 9 footer you have been wanting to do do it now! Its a great freeride bike the suspension is awesome, no flaw in the frame and you will be bombing any run you can find with this bike. It wheely drops anything very stable and rips up the North Shore and technical sections! Buy this bike great bike for a grear price!

Strengths:Can you say Super T!! North Shore Race Face cranks, 8" Rotors, FUNN stem, bar.
Weaknesses:Would be nice if it came with a Vanilla RC.
Similar Products Used:Bullit, Devo, Big hit
Bike Setup:Stock, except changed the front tire to an Intense 2.7 as well as put on a front derailleur with granny gear. Changed 36 middle ring to 34.
Bottom Line:I used to ride on a Rocky Mountain DH race( roughly 5" travel) and I'm doing things on this bike I never thought I'd do. To date my biggest huck has been 8 feet and I'm scoping an 11 footer for next ride. This bike sucks up everything! You can't beat the bike for the bucks!!

    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $3400.00
Purchased At:Bits & Bikes, Guelph, Ont.
    Strengths:-The parts spec is # 1
    -Bomb proof frame
    -Dual 8" rotors
    -Sweet Funn bars and stem
    -Telescoping seat post
    -Rear suspension super tough.
-Ball bearings in 3 of 4 pivots.
    Weaknesses:None! It's CANADIAN.
Similar Products Used:Santa Cruz Bullit, Kona Stinky Deluxe
Bike Setup:All stock except Manitou X-Vert Carbons, & Funn launch-pad seat.
Bottom Line:I have had this steed for 3 weeks now & riding through all kinds of mud, snow, and rain have not heard so much as a creak come from the rear suspension. The breaks are untouchable no matter what anybody says. All this talk of the big rotors being easy to warp is a bunch of BS. I was riding along a log and slipped off and rolled on my rotors and they are fine. The frame with its new seat mast which has been lowered for this year and the enlarged main bearing is the way to go. I weigh 230 lbs & have been hitting some fairly large drops at the local silica pit near my house & have had no problems with my bike. People also do a lot of bad talking about the X-Vert Carbon but mine have worked flawlessly. The bike actually comes with a fairly thick T.H.E. fender not those flimsy saran wrap fenders they used to shell out. All those people out there that think any bike over 30 lbs should stick to the chair lift don't now what they are talking about. I ride my bike every where no matter what the terrain.

Strengths:New longer stroke shock(compared to last years), Super-T,Great Free-ride componants for cheap! Will handle a lot of abuse.
Weaknesses:WTB tires,no DH tubes, and Marzocchi's idea of a quick release(they should have just left it as a 20mm through axle)takes alot of time changing the Q/R
Similar Products Used:VPS-2, C-dale super v DH, Bullit
    Bike Setup:Instantly changed the tires to Swampthing 2.5's w/DH tubes,Hayes 8" disc's, Raceface part's, Super-T's, and lot's of other goodies.
Bottom Line:Excellent Bike for your buck. If you want to let the bike unleash itself, then I'd suggest changing the tires & Tubes to true DH stuff especially if you live up to B.C. standard biking. Great out of the box big hit bike.

    Strengths:really good price
    really strong frame
    good groupo
    rides great
handles reealy quick..not at all like a 40lb bike
Weaknesses:the frame feels like plastic in places...like more than just the side plate things
the chain guide kinda sucks the bearings in the tensioner wore out really fast
cant put big tires on it
the 3 mm bolt on the bottom of the fork...this isnt a quick release at all

Similar Products Used:kona stinky 5--brodie devo
    Bike Setup:stock
Bottom Line:This is one kickin bike!! everyone i ride with that has big bikes like this says they will be happy with them if it handles as good as this... it doesnt handle at all like a big huge bike... and the travel is great..ive been duing stuff on this bike so far this year that i would hardly look at last year i love this bike...the frame does feel like plastic in places which kinda has me wondering but oh well its a suuper burley frame...
i really do wish i could atleast put a 2.7 tire on it but its not the end of the world...and the 3mm alan bolt on the bottom of the fork is begining to be a pain..but overall i love the bike

Duration Product Used:Tested or demo'ed only
    Purchased At:havent bought one
Strengths:DH geomatry, super-T, 8 inch hayes, frame renforcer
Weaknesses:The spec said this thing would have a Fox vanilla RC and I the bike my LBS has only has a Vanilla R, the frame has a plastic feel to it, very short cockpit, the rear cain stay only has clearce for a 2.4 tire mabey 2.5.
Bike Setup:the bike is stock but the addition of a fox vanilla RC would make the bike more versitile.
Bottom Line:This bike was made for the shore. It is a big hit bike with the ability to climb up latter bridges, rocks, stumps, small cars, ect. I found the fork to be very stiff. but thats good since marzocchis have been a bit undersprung in years past. The shore is more than up to light duty DH racing out of the box. once again if the shore had the Vanilla RC this bike in the right hands could do very well on the B.C cup curcit.

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $3000.00
    Purchased At:MOUNTAIN BIKE CITY A.B.
Strengths:OVERALL STRENGTH AND RIGIDITY OF THE FRAME IS TREMENDOUS. THE NEW 12MM REAR DROPOUT IS SUPER STIFF, TO THE POINT WHERE EVEN HARD FAST BANKED CORNERS DON'T ALLOW FLEX OF THE REAR WHEEL TO BEND IN AND CREATE BRAKE DRAG FROM THE STANDARD 8" ROTOR IT IS STOCKED WITH. SUPERB PARTS SPEC AND FRONT DERAILLEUR COMPATIBLE TO BOOT. FABULOUS BIKE!!!
Weaknesses:REAR HUB SHOULD BE FIXED NOT QUIK RELEASE TO MAKE IT EVEN STIFFER. THE FRONT FORK IS NOT TRULY Q/R AS MARZOCCHI SAYS, SINCE PINCH BOLTS/CLAMPS MAKE IT MORE DEDICATED THAN ANYTHING. TOO BAD THEY DON'T HAVE A SIMILAR SET UP AS THE ROCK SHOX TULLIO 20MM SYSTEM.
Similar Products Used:TREK DH, KONA STAB, SANTA CRUZ BULLIT, MARIN DH
Bike Setup:BIKE BUILDS UP FAST AND SIMPLE WITH ONLY THE HAYES OR UPPER CROWN TO DISMANTLE TO RUN THE BRAKE LINE THROUGH THE FORK.
Bottom Line:UNBELIEVABLE VALUE ON A TRULY BOMB PROOF BIKE.THE ONLY CHANGES SOME MIGHT CONSIDER IS THE SRAM TO SHIMANO PARTS BUT THAT IS ALL PERSONAL PREFERANCE. THE DMR CHAINGUIDE IS SIMPLE AND WORKS WELL, ALTHOUGH A FRONT DERAILLEUR IS NICE ASWELL. OVERALL THIS BIKE ROCKS BUT YOU STILL HAVE TO GET A HOLD OF ONE. THIS BIKE IS IDEAL FOR THE CONSUMER WHO WANTS A BIG HIT BIKE WITHOUT THE BIG HIT ON YOUR WALLET, COMPARED TO OTHERS IN ITS PRICE RANGE. IT WEIGHS AROUND 40 POUNDS, SO IT IS STILL CLIMBABLE FOR THOSE WHO DON'T SHUTTLE. IF YOU CAN GET YOUR HANDS ON ONE YOUR IN FOR ONE HELL OF A RIDE!
