Submitted by luke baumer a Weekend Warrior from Victor Harbor, SA, Austrailia
Date Reviewed: August 25, 2004
Favorite Trail:my place
Duration Product Used:Tested or demo'ed only
Purchased At:wasn't mine, it's...was my mate's
Strengths:price was good but i cant remember how much exactly, frame geometry, fork, wheels, stem and drive setup.
Weaknesses:7005 aluminium frame isn't all that strong(my friend snapped it clean through the tubing about 1 inch back from the head tube after 11 months!!!), tires weren't all that good and the disc pads wore doen after about 9 months and the bars geometry wasn't enough sweep back for my liking.
Similar Products Used:just bmx's.
Bottom Line:This bike would be WAY better with chrmoly tubing or at least some re-enforcements around the front end as my friend only did up to 6 foot drops and dirt jumps snapped it without any signs of wear about 15 minutes before the jump. I would recomend this bike to anyone who does smaller jumps or just as a cruiser to get around town, and if you do bigger jumps and drops i would definatley recomend you get a chromoly frame such as a DMR trailstar.

Strengths:Frame, Geometry, Cranks, Rims, bottom bracket bmx size is sexy
Weaknesses:Forks(not bad for the money but not a descent fork)
Brakes (sh!t really sh!t)
It doesnt come ready to race out of the box.... alot of work needed.
Similar Products Used:Planet x....P3....orange
Bike Setup:formula discs, primo super tenderizers, Fox talas forks, chris king and azonic bars
Bottom Line:great frame holds up to anything, need to run 24' rear rim to get the best out of geometry, great stock cranks and drivetrain setup. get some descent forks on it and you'll cruise on the track.... get out there ad enjoy it best buy for the buck

Date Reviewed: June 18, 2004
Favorite Trail:All and everything
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $1000.00
Purchased At:The Bike Zone
Strengths:Awexome Geometre, shocks, gear shifters, rims, tires... I survived a 21 1/2 foot drop onto rough terrain, all I got was a heart problem and a sprained thumb.
Weaknesses:Brakes, there a little iffy, just keep em well tuned, have the tool at all times.
Similar Products Used:Sasquatch, bigfoot, rampage, had Kona Stuff but I broke the frame in 2 weeks
Bike Setup:STOCK ALL THE WAY,
Bottom Line:Best price for your moneys worth, just keep it in tune, greased and have the tool to tighten your brackes, just in case. This bike is the best for all round riding, it handles jumps easile, is nice and light for trials, excelent for drops and trails, and North Shore it also handles excelentaly.

Strengths:solid bike, comes with dj3's which is a real plus when gettin your first jump bike as great forks to build round, comes with gears which is a great plus as most other jump bikes around £500 are single speed. The frame is solid and is smooth on drops and jumps and soaks all the impact up
Weaknesses:hayes hmx-1 brakes are poor..bike ways a ton like weighs the same as an elephant.pedals are lame with no grip.....bars rust so easily
Similar Products Used:specialized p1 and p2 and kona scrap and shred

Date Reviewed: December 12, 2003
Favorite Trail:urban/dj
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $1500.00
Purchased At:bike addiction (price in australian)
Strengths:good jumper, manuals really easy, easily flickable, smooth on stairs, gaps and drops.strong frame that comes with an alright fork and descent specs and still not emptying yours pockets to pick one up.
Weaknesses:the bars rust, the rims are the worst ever i split within 3 months of use and i only weigh 40kg!.the brakes are hopeless and i am soon upgrading to hydros it takes me three seconds to stop when i apply the brakes full on,i have tried everything to make them work properly and i failed hopelessly.also the dmr chaincage is a piece of s#!t it is weak as it bends every three hours, when it bends in the screw skims the tire and has resulted in me having rings around my beloved hookworm.
Similar Products Used:trek y3 nothing compared to one25
Bike Setup:stock except hookworm rear tire bling bling front tire lizard skin lock on grips cranks sanded down to silver.
Bottom Line:it is a good bike for the money, jumps easy, but if youre considering getting one i would steer clear as the 04 norco hardtails and the 04 kona hardtails look awesome for the money. overall i strongly suggest you go for an 04 manik,sasquatch,rampage,torrent,4 hun and for the konas the stuff and the roast as they are the best for your money, stay away from the 03 one25.mine will be better soon as i intend to upgrade everything e.g. new rims to intense mag 30.also the overall rating will most definetly go up.

Weaknesses:difficult to get inclined with, you carnt just jump on it and do what ever, part from that, good bike in its range.

Strengths:everything ay this bike rules rverything
frame is strong as
wheels are suprisingly strong, my mate neva put em out a true but then i got on =S
but ive done heaps on this bike 10+ foot drops, 20ft dirt jumps, downhill you name it
Weaknesses:brakes suk ass the front has been changed to magura louise but the back are the original ones and they r badddd
i ate s#@! bad doing a mono fast down a hill because they failed to work
bars bent but have been replaced, wheels bukled a little but hey im a butcher

Similar Products Used:kona stuff, raceline extreme street, kona roast, 4hun, giant acid
Bike Setup:stock exept bars - kore strictly D, front brakes - magura louise, pedals, some cage pedals, tyres - michilen hot S
Bottom Line:awsome bike i wish it was mine, sure beats my giant acid which not a bad bike either but for the same price as the 125 i know which i should have chosen.

Favorite Trail:Vallée Pruneau
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $1199.00
Purchased At:Centre Du Velos
Strengths:This bike has a very good frame. The rims are good. I could do all the stair drops and rock drops i wanted without even having the rims come out of true.
Weaknesses:The brake levers are bad.
Similar Products Used:Kona Stuff or Roast, Oryx Desert Dueler 66 and the Norco Rampage
Bike Setup:stock
Bottom Line:This bike is the best for the money. You will enjoy this bike and start pulling tricks you had never pulled before. I still didn't bring this bike in the shop for repairs. The brakes aren't that good but its abought the only thing you'll need to upgrade if you buy this bike. The suspensions is the best for the money. At this price you get a real good suspension. You must buy this bike you won't regret your spendings and after all for everything this bike offers its not that big of a spending.

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $1000.00
Purchased At:Ace cycles (cool lil shop)
Strengths:cromo bar, cromo cranks, BMX bb, Wellgo BMX pedals, Easton RAD square-to-round tubing, cromo deep cup headset, Axiom Shovel saddle and post, etc.
Weaknesses:rear der., shifter, non lock-on grips, Alivios, 6" hayes mech, only 8 speed, non QR20mm.
Similar Products Used:my friend's Norco Bigfoot (similar geometry, if u get the XS).
Bike Setup:stock 4 now, but will probably upgrade the rear der. 2 an XT, and the bar 2 a Scandium DH (personal preference), and the brakes 2 hydro 8" hayes, and the levers as well.
Bottom Line:this bike rules!!! it's not broken in yet, so i can't really feel how it rides just yet. expect another review when it's broken in. my favourite bike ever!!! would never settle 4 anything else! all the product weaknesses i put up r only if u want a top o the line bike, and if i were trying 2 make a budget 5hun, i'd make those exact changes. well done Norco!!! now i know why it's the DJ bike of the year!!!

Strengths:frame & geometry are very sweet, as is the integration of the bolt on stuff
Weaknesses:none thus far. Set it it right first time & go
Similar Products Used:Trek ST 160, Raceline Comp, DiamondBack DBR,Giant TCR1 (roadie-yes but if you really ,really want to win races or excel at riding you will need 1 of these to get the miles into your legs & base conditioning.)
Bike Setup:stock so far.
Bottom Line:Very sweet geometry that first attracted me to the design, and the bolt on stuff further compliments the overall finish. Fantastic finish by Norco- a top quality product from obviously a great manufacturing process.
Straight out of the box its ready to ride & you will have tiny maintenance duties for your time together. Xcellent value for money. Confidence inspiring for jump sessions anywhere.
Its a "sure footed " ride on this machine with the ability to " rail corners ". It isn't really that suited to rolling along down a trail but rather give it everything & be super aggressive. As a super X bike it is absolutely suited to jumping ANYTHING. Perhaps something to be noted though is if riding on a degrading quality bmx track or single track that is a bit chattery thru sections or rubble or hard-packed rubble the excellent strength of frame really will transmit the chatter into you ! But i doesn't bother me.
I will try to post a further review later in time.

Date Reviewed: January 18, 2003
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $900.00
Strengths:The geometry is really nice and makes this a great all around bike. Horizontal dropouts, and bmx bb, bars... This bike rocks!
Weaknesses:Brakes
Similar Products Used:My buddies DMR Sidekick
Bike Setup:Stock except for a new rear brake.
Bottom Line:For the price you're pay this is an amazing bike! I've done dj, urban, park, and a little shore with it and I love it!! It doesn't way tons and takes loads of abuse. The only complain I have about this bike are the brakes. The front mech. was fine for me but the rear wouldn't perform during street/park sessions. I was afraid of ripping it off while grinding too so I scrapped the mech. and put on one of my old Sram V-brakes. Works awsome now! Basically if your short on cash this bike is definetly the way to go.

Favorite Trail:watershed
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $1000.00
Purchased At:The Bike Zone
Strengths:great flow and has a demand to be at the dirtjumps. Norco should put some HyDRAULIC 8 ON OR AT LEATS ON THE FRONT B CUZ THE 6 inches Mech dont work good on the slippery urban
Weaknesses:better brakes and sum better levers
Similar Products Used:the sasquatch and the brodie holeshot
Bike Setup:mostly stock
Marzochhi DJ 3 130 mm
Hayes Mechanical 6
Kenda Kinetic 26 x 2.35 rubber
Chung nan black spokes
Alex MX 22 26 rims
Shiman rapid fire 8 speed
Tektro Mt levers eewwww
n e ways it a phat ride
Bottom Line:i spent the right amount of money for a bike that does everything. not too heavy and has nice little gadgets like the hand grip under the seat. definetely a bike that would be super nice with some Norco upgrades. i look forward to ridng a future 125cc. Norco has done ok on this one. id like too see them venture out into the SuperX series more often. This bike is not for the timid. it begs to be ridden hard and it is a high flyer. it takes a beating and stands tall. Great for someone looking to start off and then get good so u dont need to go broke to have a high quality bike.
