Submitted by JASh Mcneill a Weekend Warrior from Bud Land!!!
    Date Reviewed: February 27, 2008
Favorite Trail:THE trail (wich is in bud land)
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $325.00
    Purchased At:Sport wheels
Strengths:I like how it rides and the frame design.
    Weaknesses:All of the components suck.
    Similar Products Used:Norco Pinnacle
    Norco wolverine
    Bike Setup:All stock
Bottom Line:It is a well designed bike. But the components could be better. It's pretty light so it's good for hills. The shocks have just about no travel. I would reccomend it if yiu were low on cash. But that's about it.

Submitted by Colin H a Weekend Warrior from Calgary
    Date Reviewed: November 18, 2007
    Favorite Trail:CBC Trail
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
    Price Paid: $300.00
    Purchased At:Don't Remember
    Strengths:Frame
    Weaknesses:Fork-needs more travel
Similar Products Used:Other similar priced bikes
    Bike Setup:Standard
Bottom Line:Great bike for a begginer. Despite the fact it's more of a cross-country bike it can handle 3' drops with out much trouble. If you mainly do recreational cross-country this is the bike for you. If you freeride or do downhill, or even do big drops this isn't what you want.

    Favorite Trail:trail riding
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $275.00
    Purchased At:bike store
    Strengths:good durable frame, nice handling
    Weaknesses:needs better forks
    Similar Products Used:haro,trek
Bottom Line:good bike, its worth the money ok parts its good if you just do basic trail riding but if you do heavier stuff you can all ways put tougher forks on because its worth it because it has a pretty good frame.

Submitted by Billy Bob a from Brandon, Manitoba, Canada
    Date Reviewed: February 13, 2005
    Favorite Trail:street
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $330.00
    Purchased At:A&L Cycle and Ski
Strengths:nothing at all. well maybe. the seat was kinda comfy thats about it.
Weaknesses:derauller broke off 3 times. back rim could barely take a curb drop. v-brakes are weak and the caliper broke once. seat post is weak and bent from just normal riding. front fork is weak and to soft. front rim is weak too.
    Similar Products Used:nothing
    Bike Setup:stock
Bottom Line:this was my first bike and i guess its an okay begginer bike. i rode it way to hard. i had it at the shop every 2nd weekend either getting a new derailler or rim. it was pretty bad. it couldnt handle more than 3ft drops. but i guess it isint really meant for that anyways. im looking into an 05' bigfoot now.

Submitted by Marc a from Canada
    Date Reviewed: June 30, 2004
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $250.00
    Purchased At:bike store
Strengths:frame is the same as some of the higher end norco bikes in the same categorie. For tall ppl (like me 6feet), the f***stem and handle bar are good
    rapid-fire shifter are good
    Weaknesses:suspension sucks
    seat+seat post sucks
lots of weigth added on by derauillers
    Similar Products Used:norco bushpilot
    gt palomar
Bike Setup:stock + welgo flats ;) and mxc bomber shox
Bottom Line:You get wat you pay for. I dont have lots of cash, so instead of wating years and years to save up for a new bike, i upgrade slowly. Thats what i sudgest with this bike (ive changet the fork and pedals, crankset + bb is next)
This bike is fine for comuting and can take a beating (frame)

Submitted by Chelsea a from Coquitlam, B.C.
    Date Reviewed: May 9, 2004
    Favorite Trail:North Shore
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $150.00
    Purchased At:Sports Junkies
Strengths:Good brakes with fast reaction, good grips. Strong frame. Good for small jumps and light trails. Gears work fine. Good maneuvering.
Weaknesses:Seat is crappy as hell..its bad for me and im a girl..couldn't imagine how bad it would be for a guy. Forks is sh*tty but what can you expect from a $200 bike. Pedals are crappy plastic and bend easily. The handlebars are screwed though..too far away from the seat.
Similar Products Used:norco pinnacle, norco scrambler
    Bike Setup:same as when bought
Bottom Line:If you are looking for a cheap bike to use for staying on the trail in parks i would recommend it, but if ur into out of bounds trails and dirt jumps this bike isnt for you at all. If you're a beginner mtb'er its good for learning. Biggest thing you could get over on this bike without ur gears hitting is probably a stump a little bit taller than a street curb. Don't even bother trying to fit bigger shocks onto a mountaineer. Might as well buy a new bike for the price of Marzocchi's.

    Purchased At:Mac's Cycle
Strengths:Good shifters... Pretty Strong... Good for just riding around... (Like you can't expect much from a 300$ bike....)
Weaknesses:Bad, weak RIMS... Handle Bar is bad designed......
Bottom Line:I would strongly recommend it if you are just riding it to school or to work... But.... for tricks.. Trust Me... BUY A BMX.... I've broken it more than 10 times... finally decided to get a new bike....

    Favorite Trail:Jarrahdale, Langford park
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $300.00
    Purchased At:Safety Bay bike shop
    Strengths:strong frame,good gears,good tyres,good suspension,the colour and look of it.
    Weaknesses:not a comfortable seat,it's got a stand,the back wheel got bent easy.
    Similar Products Used:Revel
Bike Setup:same as I bought it.
Bottom Line:I like my Norco, it is good for riding in the bush, small jumps and BMX tracks. It is great for beginner riders who don't want to go really fast over jumps and down REALLY big hills!

Submitted by Eric a from Toronto Ontario
    Date Reviewed: November 2, 2002
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $187.00
    Purchased At:Silent Sports
Strengths:its steel. it wont break. i hope.
Weaknesses:for 300 dollars? the bike is a weakness. It'll work perfect for going to school, work or for beginners, not for any dedicated mountain biking.
Bike Setup:axiom riser bar, platform pedals
Bottom Line:its a cheap bike, so expect cheap parts. It would actually be better to get a mountainbike from Canadian Tire or Sears, for 300 CAD you could get an aluminum frame with pretty much the same or better parts.

but if your price range is 300 or less, i guess its one of the better bikes you could get.

    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $220.00

Strengths:Good for riding around the city and a little bit of off road stuff. Handled not too bad on rocky terrain. Good for dirt riding!
Weaknesses:Can't raise (or lower) handelbars. Should have a sealed top on the seatpost. A little heavy.
    Similar Products Used:Supercycle Anvil
Bike Setup:The way I bought it.
Bottom Line:Excellent bike until you take it on to really rough terrain.
    Great for local city trails.
