    Favorite Trail:All of them
    Duration Product Used:2 Years
    Price Paid: $600.00
    Purchased At:Ernies
Strengths:Good bike for price, brand name components, good mech. disc brakes frame strength.
Weaknesses:fork and shock ( not enough travel and poor quality ).
Bike Setup:Shimano XT, brake levers, shifters, derailluers, cassette, cranks and hubs. Marzocchi Bomber forks, Maxxis Minion DH tire on back and Sun Ringo rim on back
Bottom Line:If you soup this bike up like i did it is a very good bike but stock the gears and forks are not very good. Very good value and i would reccomend it to anyone looking for there first serious bike.

    Date Reviewed: February 11, 2003
    Favorite Trail:any
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $500.00
    Purchased At:cycle city
Strengths:IT has a realy good strong frame. It takes a beating, i havent tride any big stuff yet cuz its been all snowy up here in canada eh!
Weaknesses:the shocks arent that great. They will do tho till i can get an upgrade. the chain realy chews up the chainstay so its a good idea 2 get a guard. It could also use a bash guard instead of the three rings with a plastic guard.
Bottom Line:Its a good solid bike and a realy good deal. it sometimes nose dives a bit but just give it a nice preload and it will fly smooth as an eagle. Theres nuthing wrong it that cant be fixed easily. Its a realy good bike for begginers

    Favorite Trail:any
    Duration Product Used:6 months
    Price Paid: $600.00
    Purchased At:sportwheels
Strengths:Really good for beginners, good price, strong frame that can really take a beating, came with a nice hayes mech disc and the front shocks arn't that bad
Weaknesses:derailer really sucks and rear shock blows i went through a couple but they were replaced by waranty
Similar Products Used:norco NX2000, screamer, sidewinder
Bottom Line:this is a great bike for the price. i would not recomend it for racing though unless u really soup it up. its really good for trails and if u want a a bike that can take a beating this is the bike for you. (i would recomend replacing rear shock and derailer also replace the front fork and put on bombers or rockshox

Submitted by Brent a Weekend Warrior from Canada
    Date Reviewed: October 26, 2002
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Purchased At:Steve's Bike Shop
Bike Setup:Stock except for shock and seat
Bottom Line:This is just an update on my other review. I broke the RST that came on it and the guys at the shop replaced it with a DNM MM22AR. It is a big upgrade. The shock has rebound adjustment on it which is great. If you put it completely negitive the rear end is like a hardtail. I go 5-7 clicks in after I reach the top of the hill making the bike responsive but plush. Another thing to drasticly change the handling is to try different air pressures in the tires.

Submitted by Phillip Ellis a Weekend Warrior from Charlton Vic, Australia
    Date Reviewed: August 22, 2002
Favorite Trail:Charlton bike Track and Luke's Bike Track
    Duration Product Used:6 months
    Price Paid: $544.00
    Purchased At:Ross Harding Cycles
Strengths:Frame, swing arm, value, Stong and good beginner bike for downhillers/Drit jumpers or whatever you are.
Weaknesses:Fount and rear Shock, the CLUNK noise, tires (replaced with mobsters) and only one disk brake but nothing that carnt be fixed.
    Similar Products Used:Dunlop Banshee
    Bike Setup:Same Except Mobsters
Bottom Line:Its a good bike for it price I'm not that hard on it yet as it is my frist real MTB other than super market jobs but i'v done a 3 foot drop off and havent Bottemed it out its a good Jumper too except it kicks the fount wheel down some times and again not too hard on it as no BMX or MTB history so if your looking for a bike to start you off this is the bike for you.

Submitted by steve a Weekend Warrior from Victoria
    Date Reviewed: August 18, 2002
    Favorite Trail:Hartland Park
    Duration Product Used:6 months
    Price Paid: $600.00
    Purchased At:Russ Hayes
Strengths:Strong frame that can take a pounding. Not bad climber or jumper. It doesn't feel as heavy as it is.
Weaknesses:Rear end rattles on descents no matter how much you tighten it. Front shock could use an upgrade if you ride serious and the derailers suck(don't try shifting under load).
Bike Setup:Stock, but not for long.
Bottom Line:You can't ask for much better for an entry level bike. It costs not much more than a garbage department store bike but puts you on any trail you want screaming "BONZAI". It keeps you moving fast and straight up or down hill. So far I have no cracks or major damage(paint doesn't count) after six months of abuse including 4 foot drops and some things too stupid to mention. If your just starting out this is a great choice to try out the sport without killing your wallet.

Submitted by Brent a Weekend Warrior from Florenceville, New Brunswick, Canada
    Date Reviewed: August 10, 2002
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $600.00
    Purchased At:Steve's Bike Shop
Strengths:I'm just stepping up from department store bikes and I must say this is a great bike to do that with. I like most things about it.
Weaknesses:Tires, seat, and rear shock. And its set up like a spring board.
    Similar Products Used:none
Bike Setup:Stock except for the tires and seat. I'm hoping to upgrade the shock soon.
Bottom Line:You can't beat it for just stepping into the real world of mtbing. It has a hayes mechanical disc on the front and trektro vee-brake one the back, alex rims, axiom and formula hubs. 100mm of adjustable travel in the front. Its a do anything bike for a person of novice skill. I don't reccomend it to anybody going into freeriding or DH. It's not an XC racer either but I use it for that and dirt jumping.

Submitted by Oliver Fox a Downhiller from Ballarat, Victoria, Australia
    Date Reviewed: March 21, 2002
    Favorite Trail:DryCreek, Nerrina bush
    Duration Product Used:6 months
    Price Paid: $600.00
    Purchased At:Ballarat Mountain Bike Centre
Strengths:Good frame, rear disc mount, great mechanical disc.
Weaknesses:Single pivot sus, CRAP rear shocker (RST 20 A), Crap front forks, crankset had to be replaced immediately.
Similar Products Used:Norco sidewinder, Norco screamer.
Bottom Line:It's a great bike for the price, and no cons that can't be fixed. Don't expect the rear shock to take to much ( it'll bend) but it doesn't mean you can't hit the dropoffs just as hard. Replace the front forks ( as I have done) with a lot more travel and the rear and you'll have a great freeride bike. It's a pity it's only single pivot but it's still suspesion. It still picks up the ladies so if you're a lesbian GET ONE!
