Strengths:Awesome traction and low rolling resistance when properly inflated.
    Weaknesses:pricey
    Similar Products Used:Mobsters
    Bike Setup:Turner DHR
Bottom Line:Great tire. Don't be scared off by all the reviews regarding how hard it is to get on and off of the rim. Just like downhill riding it's all about technique and not brute strength. Now that I've figured them out I don't even need to use tire levers. You just have to work the bead a little.

    Strengths:Fantastic traction - good gripping
Weaknesses:Tough to get it in & out from rim!
    Similar Products Used:None
Bike Setup:2004 Mountain Cycle San Andreas, Fox RLC fork, DMR stem, Easton risers, full XT drivetrain (old 4 oiston XT diskbrakes).
    Bottom Line:This tire climbs!
It offers so much traction that you may be confident to climd the steepest trails.
    Not for the grammarfobic rider!
The only drawback is that this tire sits really tight on the rim!
But i guess this is for extra safety, after all nobody wants to loose his tire off the rim when geting (eventually) a flat in high speed!
I would recommend that Nokian should offer a set of high quality metal levers with these tires!
    So,
One flamming chill off because i spend 1 hour to change my rear tube and broke 4 good strong plastic tire levers trying to get the beast off!
If i had a speciall Nokian lever i would rate with 5 chills too!

Strengths:Grippy in almost all conditions! Just plain grips great.
Weaknesses:Not a low rolling resistance tire but no really grippy tire is...
Similar Products Used:Just about every tire out there.
    Bike Setup:Yeti ASX
Bottom Line:I've used the NBX treads in several sizes for over a year. They're my all around favorite tire. Good in mud, good on hardpack, great cornering and decent wear. These are a Finnish tire by the way, NOT Swedish. Suomi is Finnish for Finnish...

    Strengths:High Volume tire for a 2.5" - seems more like a 2.7

    Tough sidewalls.

    Quality construction and materials.

Grippy tread compuond and super wide casing.
Weaknesses:...fitting the bead....sweet Jesus, it's fitting the bead... still have nightmares...
    Similar Products Used:Maxxis, IRC
Bike Setup:2005 Demo 8 with all the good stuff...
Bottom Line:Tires brought to you from the land of yore...

Nokian/Suomi is a Swedish company that makes excellent tires. The quality and craftsmanship are top-notch. However, apparently they seem to think that once you put a tire on a rim (after breaking 2 Wrenchforce tire levers, using your foot for leverage, and wishing you knew how to curse in Swedish) - it should stay there. Permanently. Conjuring up the spirit of Thor himself, and at least 1,000 Viking warriors won't help you get this tire off the rim. Capable of reducing your weight-lifting buddies to quivering piles of tearful insecurtiy.

    Truly amazing.

"Suomi" must be Swedish for "Sissy"

    Weaknesses:None that I can see
Similar Products Used:Kenda, these tires word not stick to anything even if you put glue on the tire!
    Bike Setup:Kona Stinky
Bottom Line:These tires work great in everything even the snow! I can't say enough about them! These tires came on my bike and when they are finally wore down I will buy more of the same!

    Date Reviewed: November 18, 2004
    Favorite Trail:Laurel Highlands
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
Purchased At:Came stock on '04 Stinky
Strengths:Lots of grip, easily sheds mud, BIG air volume. 6 ply tread and 4 ply sidwalls.
    Weaknesses:None
Similar Products Used:Maxxis DH tires (various).
Bike Setup:'04 Stinky, Sun Single Track rims, Race Face Diabolus cranks, Easton EA70 monkey bars, Titec Block Head stem, Titec Knock Scoper seat post, Marz. Drop Off Triple w/Jr.T internals (springs, dampers).
Bottom Line:Excellent tires for DH, freeride and extreme trail riding. When run at low pressure, the tires grip will everything including the wet rock found in western Pa's Laurel Mtns. The 6 ply tread and 4 ply sidewalls resist damage from ALL trail debris and won't rip or tear when ridden over or against sharp edged rocks. They are heavy at 1300 grms., but they pedal well and will hold up to any and all abuse. If you have a need for bomb-proof tires and dislike punctures and pinch flats, these are it.
