Favorite Trail:French Alps!!
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $69.00
Purchased At:Sid's Bike shop NYC
Strengths:Big side knob for good cornering, very fast rolling band, strong casing. Do not wear to fast.
Weaknesses:Weigth
Similar Products Used:Hutchinson coyote/jumbo - intense 2.35 - maxxis mobster....
Bike Setup:Super V FR / Stratos S5/ SRAM 9.0SL
Bottom Line:This is a review for the 26x2.3
This is a downhill / DS tire. It has enormous side knob so you can corner with your gnees cleaning the floor ;-))
The middle knob are very small so the rolling resistance is minimal. Result: These are really fast downhill tires. The casing do not look as strong as the intense FRO but I run them at low pressure some time and did not get any flat.
If you intend to use them for hard core trail riding, keep in mind that they are a bit heavy (still much ligther than the intense FRO) and that as a rear tire, you get very little traction. I replace the rear tire when I go on the trails. The value rating reflect that my LBS is really espansive. You can find them for $15 cheaper on the web and they would get one more chill.
Value Rating:3Overall Rating:5
