Strengths:tough sticky 2.1 knobby! this tire has large voids does not get get slick in mud.
Weaknesses:umm, its heavy, but, so what...its better.
Similar Products Used:lots of low cost 2.1's not tubeless or race tires.
    Bike Setup:2 hard tails.
Bottom Line:this tire is great for wet/damp/soft xc. it costs to get them here but they work. they are heavier. but i do not have the core, i have its predecessor. the gazza 2.1 which is a wire bead 2.1 desinged for 4x/am it has been used on 2 bikes and i still like the fact that the knobs are big and the right shape, and the casing is strong!!(x2) it is a terrific tire for someone who likes to get a grip in loam. soft damp singletrack is no match. this tire grips like nuthin else and it has no problems with pinches or wet root. it does stick to pavement, but gives average wear if if used their, for dirt, it wears very little. i run it with a wide rim so it gets a flat profile. today on my ride, i was noticing all the feet that had to hike as i continued my climb. idk, i just cant say enough good things about them. they do cost a bit extra to get them here, but the performance is well worth the drawbacks.

    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $35.00
    Purchased At:LBS
    Strengths:-great rubber quality
    -amazing as front tire
    -so confortable
    Weaknesses:-normal as rear tire
    -for XC only
    -not 2.1, more 2.00(54-559)
Similar Products Used:nokians, huchinsons, maxxis, ritchey zmaxs, continentals
Bike Setup:Giant escaper'92, Manitou Axel 100mm(om),Hayes disc brake, Mavic mx 321(f) and Mavic D521(r)
Bottom Line:Ok, it's not for downhill, but probably the best front tire for summer and some wet XC because of the weight.
    -front:
A super tire for slow technical downhill courses, great for rolling on hardpack, on road.
    -rear:
Nothing special, good roller on everything even sand with proper technic, good climber.
    -both:
Not stable on fast corners. They are very confortable for a non tubeless, the rubber wears off normally, they fit well on the rims. And please,do not try them on mud. Excelent on summer/winter hardpack tracks in Portugal. Oh, i weight over 100Kg.

    Date Reviewed: May 16, 2005
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $80.00
Strengths:Grip wet and dry, cornering grip, great feel in the mud, looks
    Weaknesses:Stiffness, comfort (hard rubber compound)
    Sensitive for edges on road
Very small for 2.1 (go for 2.3?)
Similar Products Used:Pair of IRC Mythos XC 2.1 (really bad grip, iew)
    Bike Setup:Specialized FSR 120
Bottom Line:I'm gonna try a pair of Specialized Roll X tires, maybe they feel more stable on the road. Otherwise these are pretty good!
