    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $35.00
    Purchased At:LBS
    Strengths:-best on winter
    -unstopable for XC, marathon, enduro
    -it's BLUE!!!
Weaknesses:-wears off extremely fast (winter use only)
-nokian stop producing the blue one
Similar Products Used:nokian gazza.core 2.1/boazo. x, huchinsons python, maxxis highroller/larsenTT, ritchey zmaxs, continentals diesel/gravity/ and so on...
Bike Setup:Giant escaper'92 (hardtail), Manitou Axel 100mm(om),Hayes disc brake, Mavic mx 321(f) and Mavic D521(r)
Bottom Line:I see a lot of bad reviews on this briliant rear tire. It's superior than most XC tires, like python 2.0 and larsonTT 2.0.
Perhaps the problem is that boazobeanaR is best used on a full suspension bike. On a hardtail you may have trouble during uphill because you start spining in the air when you climb/hit some small obstacles.
In the end this is excelent all around tire specialy in winter season or XC competition because of it's tenter BLUE rubber.
Oh, i remember now, my weight is over 100Kg and i use nokian or maxxis fr/dh tubes. It never pinched!!

    Duration Product Used:6 months

Strengths:lets see...its the same color as the front one so it doesn't look silly on my bike
    Weaknesses:not very wide
    don't hook up well
PINCH FLAT PINCH FLAT PINCH FLAT!
Similar Products Used:panaracer fire xc pro (truely the tire of the gods)
Bike Setup:'04 kona kula deluxe with fire xc's ofcorse
Bottom Line:this set of tires (front and rear) came on my '04 kona. when i was picking out the bike i was a little concerned about kona's stock tire choice. they just didn't look strong. i've always been a fan of meaty, knoby tires since where i live in PA a ride will most likely incorperate MANY different surfaces. i need the knobs when the going gets tough, and the extra rolling resistance doesn't bother me when im on the bunny slope. the front boazobeana does its job ok but the rear is sevearly lacking! it barely hangs on while your in the saddle but stand up and its gone. an even larger issue for me is they have NO resistance to pinch flats! i enjoy fast, rocky downhills and often have to hop a log here or there but with these tires every landing was a gamble! i did everything right (42-45 psi, rim tape, cleaned the inner caseing, baby powder)and ride after ride i wound up down a tube. i noticed this tire has a rather high overall rateing so maybe its just my riding style. im 160 lbs and when i ride im kickin a$$ and takin names. if this sounds like you then this isn't your tire. panaracer has the answer. fire xc pro's, you'll never look back!

Strengths:I thought it had good traction uphill. I reviewed this product before and liked it. Weight. Cool looks.
Weaknesses:Increased rolling resistance. Wears down quickly. Not good over slick surfaces like rocks.
Similar Products Used:panaracer fire xc pros
Bike Setup:Hardtail with a bunch of crap that I bought on the web.
Bottom Line:I reviewed this product before after not having it long. Since then I replaced the nokians with some panaracer firexcpros which are so much better (reason why I am decreasing the ratings on this tire). The panaracer has better traction uphill (rarely spins compared to the nokian), and handles better around turns than the nokian. The rolling resistance is to much, after riding I would notice that the wear marks where the tire touched the trail was only at the tread and the middle of the tire between the tread ->too much friction. I noticed the difference after I switched tires. Now the tires sit in the closet, I just can't find the heart to get rid of them.

Strengths:Great mud clearance, great grip, blue color,
Weaknesses:Because of its rear specefic design, it will wear out faster than a typical rear. It didnt take long before i needed to replace it.
    Similar Products Used:panaracer, bontrager
    Bike Setup:trek 8000
Bottom Line:This tires work great when I first got them. I had the front specific tire too. The combination of the two made grip a lot better and control. I got the tires in the blueish color and they look great. The tire has great mud clearance because of the wide spacing of the tread. I like the unique tread pattern, to bad id couldnt last longer.

    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $25.00
    Purchased At:Promo Logic
Strengths:Climbing Traction, Off cambered Climbing Traction, Cornering (no face plants), Roll better than Fire XC's, Looks Killer (All Black none of this sidewall color crap), No mud collection compared to Fire XC's, Much better all around tire than others on the Market, 620 grams is close to the Panaracer Aramid bead tire at 580 grams. Use with Notubes 28-34 LBS. of air and they can not be beat. $25
Weaknesses:Could use a Kevlar or Armid bead for even lighter weight.
Similar Products Used:WTB Velocipator F&R, Panaracer Fire XC's, Panaracer Dart and Smoke, Ridden IRC Mythos
Bike Setup:Weyless Super Light/Manitou Air Shock, Marzocchi 02-100mm Marathon with climbing compression lockout, SRAM XO Der. and Shifters, Race Face LP Cranks, Rings and BB, Avid Disc and Ti brake levers, Chris King Hubs/Mavic 317 Disc, No Shimano Crap except XT F Der, Thompson Stem and seat Post, Answer Riser Bars, Serfas Climbing Bar Ends, Cat Eye computer, An aggresive trail bike, Slightly over 26lbs.
Bottom Line:The continous paddle going all the way across the tire is why this thing climbs any angle you want!!! The very low height of the center paddle and the very aggressive outer edge (Note: similar edge design as the Weirwolf)height of the paddle is the perfect combination for an all around tire. This is the most confident inspiring tire for the rear I have felt, so my search is over for now!

Good for Hard Pack to Medium Loose dirt, great traction so you do not take a fall without really screwing up!

    Purchased At:WIGGLE
Strengths:BEING A VERY GOOD ALL ROUNDER, ALSO SUPERB MUD CLEARANCE.
Weaknesses:THE LOOK DOES NOT INSPIRE CONFIDENCE DUE TO THE LACK OF NOBBLES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TREAD, BUT THEN YOU TRY IT AND REALIZE ITS JUST THE LOOK.
Similar Products Used:NOT SIMILAR IN DESIGN BUT JUST TYRES:- INTENCE COMP 70, PANRACER SMOKE CLASSIC(DID'NT EVEN DESERVE 1 CHILLY0.
Bike Setup:ORANGE SUB 5 WITH FOX UPGRADE.
Bottom Line:I STACKED QUITE BAD A WHILE BACK AND TOTALLY BLEW MY CONFIDENCE, HENCE THE DIG AT SMOKE CLASSICS ABOVE. IT TOOK A WHILE TO GET MY HEAD AROUND IT BUT THIS TYRE DEFINATELLY HELPED, ESPECIALLY COMBINED WITH THE BEANI FRONT. WHAT YOU HAVE HERE IS AN ALL ROUND TYRE WHICH NOT ONLY GRIPS MOST THINGS WELL BUT IS STILL OUTSTANDING ON OTHER SURFACES, SO THERE IS NO COMPRAMISE WITH THIS TYRE. IF YOU ARE GOING OUT ON A RIDE AND YOUR NOT QUITE SURE WHAT IS GOING TO GET THROWN AT YOU THIS IS THE ONE FOR YOU. IN MY OPINION OUTSTANDING ON WET ROCKY CLIMBS.

    Strengths:Great uphill traction
    Weaknesses:Little loose on downhills
Bottom Line:No problems getting up hills. Back end sometimes washes out on downhills when braking around turns. Pretty fast on hardpack, somewhat slower on softer terrain, quite slow & noisy on pavement (who cares about the road anyways?).

    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $30.00
    Purchased At:Bike-hut
    Strengths:Cornering, Wet conditions, fast rolling
Weaknesses:If you catch roots at the wrong point in the tyre pattern, it will be very sketch. Open tread patern rather too open. Will not last as long as the front.
Similar Products Used:Back countries, Gazzalodie duals,
Bike Setup:Raliegh Ti, Cross country set up.
Bottom Line:OK, Not the best tyre in the world. Bought both front and rear tyre. The front tyre is fantastic, Directionally stable and corners like a demon. The rear is not in the same league, a great pitty. 5 chilis for the front only 3 for the rear.

    Date Reviewed: March 31, 2002
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
Strengths:Corners like a lotus and climbs like a tractor! Best semi-slick I've tried and it comes in 2.1. The spacing between the dirt-scooping knobs allows for excellent mud-shedding. No plugging-up to speak of. Not too bad in deep mud either.
Weaknesses:Its kind of bald, so it slips on wet rocks and roots sometimes. Low thread count gives a harsher ride at lower air pressures (really only noticeable if you ride a hard tail.)
Similar Products Used:michelin, kenda, wtb, and others
Bottom Line:Good XC tire for dry conditions, but can also handle most wet conditions. Light enough to race, yet still durable enough for weekend warriors. It also comes in blue!
