Boasting an output equivalent to a 40watt halogen bulb and a burn time of 4 hours, the Firestorm light system was built with speed in mind. Testament to this is the number of 24 hour bike athletes winning races with the Firestorm. Not a 24 hour racer? No problem, the Firestorm makes an excellent commuting light. Your safety is greatly improved by the increased visibility provided by ultra bright HID technology. The Firestorm also incorporates a low battery indicator to help monitor battery power. Included is a 2.5 hour fast charger that makes certain you have a full charge when you’re on your way again.

Strengths:
Bright as hell. Battery is small enough to keep in a jersey pocket. 4 hour burn time at full power. 2.5 hour charge is really nice
Weaknesses:
Expensive, like all NiteRider products
Similar Products Used:

Bottom Line:
I originally bought the Firestorm to use as a helmet mount to go along w/my digital pro 12. Since I bought it, I haven't even used my bar mount. The single 10w bean is focused enough to be able to see all the details of the trail, but wide enough to light up the surrounding areas as well. Not being able to see with this light is not an issue, EVER.When riding w/my buddy who has the same light, it's just silly bright out. I almost feel guilty. With a 4 hour burn time, it's nice to not have to worry about conserving the battery, since it's rare that I'm out on a night ride for more than 2 1/2-3 hours anyway.
I couldn't be happier with it.

absolutely awesome light....amazing how bright it is! when riding single track with a group of 2, 3 others w HIDs as well it's like riding during the day. also, I've read a number of reviews slamming NR for their poor customer service. Maybe they read mtbr as well, cuz I the only issue I have had with them is a bar mount that I bought separately developed a crack. They responded immediately to my email and sent me a new one within 2 weeks. They even told me to keep the old one for spare parts! It doesn't get much better than this!!
