Named after one of the most famous trails in the world, the SlickRock represents the next generation in HID technology. 900 represents the lumen output, that’s right, 900 measured lumens! This makes the SlickRock just about the brightest bike light available anywhere. Other advancements include faster bulb striking and increased durability.

Duration Product Used:

Strengths:
Super, super, super bright. Two levels. Battery life indicator. Compatible with old NiMH batteries.
Weaknesses:
NiMH battery is a bit heavy. Run times good, but would always love more.
Similar Products Used:
NR Moab, older NR HID
Bottom Line:
NR strikes again with HID -- so awesome that this new version is compatible with all my older gear. The low setting is still brighter than my old lamp, and having two settings and a battery life indicator is awesome. LED may be the way of the future, but this puppy pisses off everyone on the Lakefront Path if they're going the other direction. Can't wait to take it off-road!

Strengths:
Extremely bright, good fixtures, NR customer service has gotten much better, still brighter than LED! Fast charges
Weaknesses:
Expensive replacement bulbs (but has a 2 year warranty), somewhat heavy, but I don't mind. ~2.5hrs on high

Bottom Line:
Overall a great light - the brightest I've ever had. The battery is NiMH. I would prefer Li-ion but that would probably cost more. I like having the switch on the lamp itself as opposed to the battery (trinewt). This thing is extremely bright - I've had 2 other HIDs in the past and this is easily the brightest. NR customer service has gotten much better - I'm glad I gave them another chance.
