Date Reviewed: August 9, 2002
Favorite Trail:FLUME
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $3200.00
Purchased At:Bike Source Irvine
Strengths:Plush, Stiff, Durable, Easily maintained, low stand-over height, mono frame, grease ports, square rear triangle tubing. Built much like Ellsworth truth or Turner but into a mono frame design.
Weaknesses:Limited travel versatility 3.5", but great if your not looking for more. Best run with air shock.
Similar Products Used:Fisher, GT, Trek
Bike Setup:XTR / RACE FACE / Marzocchi / Stratos
Bottom Line:This is a great x-country, all around trail bike. I have taken this bike over all kinds of terrain, from ski lift downhill courses to x-country races. I built my Lg CXS to around 27.5lb. This thing has handled everything that I can throw at it. This bike is a great choice for someone who wants a high-end custom mono frame design with a four bar linkage system. Also the guys at Mtn Cycle are always there when I have tech questions.

Submitted by Fritz a Cross-Country Rider from Carrboro, NC
Date Reviewed: August 6, 1999
Favorite Trail:
Dunn Road, Raleigh
Duration Product Used:
1 Year
Strengths:
Very Smooth
Easy to maintenance
Weaknesses:
Frame cracks
Slow warranty dept.
1 Year warranty
Frame cracks from cross country riding, any real thrashing and you take your life into hands.
Rear bobs a lot under heavy pedaling.
Frame cracked three times in less than a year.
It takes the warranty dept. at least a month to get you new frame
Similar Products Used:
Ellsworth Truth
Bike Setup:
'98 Marzocchi Z2 Atom-Bomb, '98 White Bros. SC 90 AT and '97 Judy C long travel.
Race Face Cranks, XT Components.
Bottom Line:I liked the bike initially, but it let me down to many times in just less than a years time of owning it. In that year I was without it at least three months for the warranty work, a month for each time the frame cracked. The only other product I have had this much trouble with is my White Bros. SC 90 Fork, they aren't even as durable as my Judy C were. I am only a 180lb rider and I ride cross country at about 10-20 mph, can't understand why that thing kept breaking. Buy one at your own risk.
