Mine has xt/lx components profile, salsa moto stem, avid brakes, cane creek headset, sun ryno light with lx hubs, Marzocchi z-1 dropoff, and hers has a profile riser bar lx/xt components, kore stem, cane creek head set, Manitou Pro-C, stock rims | | Bottom Line: | Great bike for the price ($550) excellent bike for a beginner. I recommend that you change the gripshift to rapid fire and upgrade the fork and wheelset. Had only one problem with the pivot point loosening, but the bike shop had it fixed in no time. The rear shock is not best but will work. I am giving it four flames because the stock bike just does not make that extra flame. The RST 261 shock sucks.The front sprockets are easy to bend. I have already dented the frame, broke the front rim, and bent the seat beyond repair. | | Similar Products Used: |
GT Avalanche is the best bike that I have ever riden. With LX and XT components I highly recommend picking up on of these bikes. It is light and super stiff and accelerates well. | | Bike Setup: |
The AL600fs has a polished aluminum frame, SRAM 5.0, Tekro brakes, Alex rims, and a RST 281. I have upgraded to a WTB SST saddle, Manitou SX, and a FSA headset. | | Bottom Line: | If you want a bike for about $400, check out the Schwinn Mesa or other big names. The Motobecane is a good bike, but I think that I could have done better. | Overall Rating: |
