Bike Setup:
black fork, xt crank, hayes hmx, deore/sun ds-2, raceface SYStem, profile carbon riser bar, spd clones
Bottom Line:
still going strong as ever! new parts made it ride like a new bike, even better than before. hayes discs rock! carbon is all it claims, baby! can't bend or flex the XT's like i did the stock truvativ (P.O.S.!). use it for the commute to work, too, and beat my personal hardtail best by a full minute! almost got into a fight w/ my boss when he wanted me to put the bike up on a bet -- this bike is the shizzle! only wish i'd bought deore/223's instead; sun ds-2's are tough to mount tires onto!

Bottom Line:
Great bike all around (except forks)I try to ride 4 times a week and I would suggest this bike to anyone starting out I have hit some good trails around phx metro area and I was happy with all the results. Its not the lightiest bike in the world I weighted it and came in at 34lbs so thats not that bad for a here and there rider. One huge plus was to have a disc brake ready bike I knew nothing of the pros and cons of disc verses v brakes so for I feel no need to make the change at this time. But if I tweek a rim that will make my decision for me.Before I bought I really did the research on a lot of bikes I test rode at least 10 under the $1000 price range handsdown it was the best nextin line would of been the cannondale jeckle 400 but the little difference in feel compared to $300 duckets less there is none

good frame -- strong; rolls over anything;feels like it was made with rough going in mind
Weaknesses:
components -- fork loosens quickly, inferior wheels, a bit heavy
Bike Setup:
changing soon!
Bottom Line:
going with manitou black fork, race face stem, profile carbon bar, hayes hmx f/r, xt crank/bb, sun ds-2 laced to deore disc, and kenda klaw tires. the flexy truvativ crank and the crap wheels have got to go!

Duration Product Used:

Price Paid:

Strengths:
tough frame, disc-ready wheelset, active suspension, lighter-riding than it is
Weaknesses:
not quite the frame color advertised (a nitpick)
Similar Products Used:
test-rode FSR, NRS, used to own URT
Bike Setup:
stock, except for front Promax mechanical disc,7" rotor
Bottom Line:
this bike gets me off the department-store crap forever! it rides like it weighs five pounds less than it weighs, and it damn near fit my specs out of the box! Saddle setback was ON, and bar/stem height was exactly where it needed to be! This frame gives me the feeling I can't break it, and that I'll break my body it I try! I'm telling you-- if you want good full-suss for less than a grand, get this babay!! I'm not a freerider (too big, too old, too long to heal), but I'll be pushing new limits with this bike (when the weather breaks a little).

so far just the stock 2.0
Bottom Line:
This is the first suspension bike that I have owned, and I just can't seem to stop riding it. I have been riding it almost every day since the purchase. There have been some insane trails conquered with only a few take-downs. I am currently looking into a few upgrades just because I have some money and not because it needs it. I absolutly love this bike and would recommend it to anyone who does not have $1000 but still wants a quality full-suspension.
