Desert mountains (any)
Duration Product Used:

Price Paid:
$475.00
Purchased At:
Cycle Spectrum
Strengths:
Rugged, good mid level components, LX, Deore, Tektro brakes, Judy TT, Rock Shock coil dampened
Weaknesses:
Heavier but tolerable on climbs(makes you stronger no doubt) Squeaky seatpost(spray it), Bar ends take up valuable hand space.
Similar Products Used:
Iron Horse MT400
Bike Setup:
Added the adjustable dampened coil with longer throw for 40 bucks at the shop. Replaced bottom bracket from stock to Shimano free, the stock made grinding sounds.
Bottom Line:
I have enjoyed this bike very much. It handles very well on rocky terrains and does not wear you out on the long climbs. It takes everything I have given it. For the money spent and the lifetime free service its a fantastic value for mid level x/c riders. Friends with Gary Fisher Sugars and Specialized Rock Hoppers gave me grief at first but have changed their tune since.

Strengths:
For an entry level dual suspension xc bike it performs relatively well. The components have withstood the pounding and the frame is solid. Very durable
Weaknesses:
A little difficult to hold line when climbing uphill. Thus, handling is a drawback. Seems heavy--no, it is heavy.

shimano derailers, judy tt shock.
Bottom Line:
Would only recommend to money conscious buyer.
