Favorite Trail:
Oxford Falls - pick one
Duration Product Used:
2 Years
Price Paid:
$1000.00
Purchased At:
Le Spit Cyclery
Strengths:
Light, good balance, excellent reliability
Weaknesses:
Disc brakes, Mongoose grips
Bike Setup:
standard except grips
Bottom Line:
Had an incident involving a straight set of five flights of stairs coming down from the Sydney Harbour Bridge a while ago - I put it down to me being lazy and not adjusting the disc brakes in as they had worn.
After the hospital, crutches and physiotherapy I'm riding again and have had a complete front brake calliper failure. Squeeze the trigger and the anodised lever on the calliper jumps over some internal notch and the cable goes slack.
Convinced now that the original problem was this same problem. This time it happened on the dirt - much softer to land on than concrete - no broken hip this time.
WARNING: great bike, but everyone replace their brakes!
