Favorite Trail:New Light
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $300.00
Purchased At:Dicks Sporting Goods
Strengths:The frame is pretty good, price is great for entry level, and it is good for upgrading.
Weaknesses:RST 281 suspension fork is a piece of CRAP, the brakes are some cheap no name brand, and the stem is just plain ugly.
Similar Products Used:None
Bike Setup:Shimano Deore cranks, 2001 Judy XC fork, Koski bars, Kore Lite Stem, Shimano UN-72 bottem bracket(sealed),thats all i've upgraded.
Bottom Line:This bike is fairly good for the money. It is also a fairly good entry level bike. Some of the components are a little too cheap. And the RST suspension fork is the worst, I wouldn't take another RST fork if they were giving it to me.

Bike Setup:raised steel handle bars for strength, vuelta airline rims,
tranz supension post, velo plush seat anantomical, schwinn computer, bmx stlye platform cage pedals,

Favorite Trail:Kettle-Moraine
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $335.00
Strengths:Cost,Decent frame(7005Alum) and low weight.
Weaknesses:Crappy component's: rst281 fork,alivio and acera deraillier's...
Similar Products Used:none
Bike Setup:Mongoose dx 3.5,R.S.JudyXC fork,Kore-lite bar& Stem,Wtb SST saddle.
Bottom Line:Over all this is a pretty decent bike for the $335 I paid for it.I wouldn't advise it for anyone who does anything
harder then occasional XC, or trail riding... This bike
has an excellent frame with decent weld's and a very hefty
"gusset",located between the "head tube and down tube." I also
like that the frame shares the same shape and geometry as
some of the "Mongoose" high-end titanium models. In my case
this bike wasn't to bad of a deal as I had alot of spare-part's collecting dust in my garage i.e.,Judy xc,Kore bar, stem, etc. I wouldn't suggest this bike in it's "stock
factory" set-up for any intense hammering! the rst381 fork
is just about the worst fork I've ever used(Fork YES!Suspension NO,NO,NO!)The Alivio, 8spd,r-deraillier is passable as a general use and lite XC use deraillier, but
the Acera,f-deraillier is almost a joke, no matter how you
tweak-it, this front deraillier never stop's making noise
and doing it's "chain-rub" routine. The stock headset on this bike(Tioga Alchemy)is pretty good, but most everything els
on this bike is meant to be upgraded...If you want a good basic XC, or Trail bike and have some decent part's laying around this is a great bike as it can be upgraded, but if hammered on too hard with it's "stock factory" set-up you might be leaving part's all over the trail!I would like to give it ^^^^^FIVE^^^^^Flamin'Jalapenos for it's very good frame though
