Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $370.00
Purchased At:Sears.com
Strengths:This bike has MANY strenths in fact i havn't had one problems with it yet also when i got the bike i figured it would be untuned and i would have to set it up myself. I was wrong all i had to do is mount the front tire and the handlebars and it was ready to ride.
Weaknesses:One of the weaknesses of this bike is the shocks. I weigh 225 lbs. and i can bottom them out with barley any force so if you're planning to get this bike plan on getting new shocks in the future. The only other weakness of this bike is the brakes. Now im not saying that they dont work im just saying that it takes a while to stretch the cables
Bike Setup:stock exept for a makshift frame protector where the chain allways hits.
Bottom Line:This bike is exellent for riders that have a low budget, dont ride every day but know how to ride. Bottom line this bike is very durable.

Strengths:well built, high end parts (adjustable frt. shock, disc brakes), overall great all around for path or trails
Weaknesses:squeaky rear shock bushings, uncomfortable seat
Similar Products Used:Ironhorse Maverick
Bike Setup:added cyclepro bar ends, saddle bags, upgrade tires from 26 x 1.95 to 26 x 2.30
Bottom Line:compare to my more expensive Ironhorse. this bike is right up there, if set up right. never had any problems beside the tire being to thin for downhill heavy trails. plus i paid next to nothing for it.

Purchased At:Dicks
Strengths:This is for the Wing Pro Elite 06: For the price I couldnt pass this bike up. Good suspension, drivetrain, tires, rims, brakes, headset, and seat.
Weaknesses:Rear shock could have a little more adjustment. Handlebars are a little cheap but they work. Disc brakes rubbed a little a first but after some fine tuning there fine now and work great
Similar Products Used:Mongoose Wing Super 06, or any midprived dual suspension mountain bike
Bike Setup:AlexRims, Ritchey Headset, Mongoose Pedals, WTB-Speed V Seat, WTB XTC Handlebars, WTB XTC Steam, WTB-Dual Compound Grips, Shimano Acera DriveTrain, KMC-Chain, Kenda-Komodo Tires, Tektro-Disc Brakes, CatEye-Wireless Computer,
Forte Ergo Carbon Barends, Hope Doctor Barplugs,
Salsa-Skewers, Grind OS Front Fork, KindShock-KS-290 Rear Shock, Dice-Valve Caps, Suntour-Crank, SRAM-Gears
Bottom Line:Bottom Line: For under $300 I couldnt pass this bike up, the way it came stock I couldnt complain at all for the price. Ive dumped about another $200 into it with a computer and aftermarket parts like: a new handlebar, steam, grips, endbars, barplugs, valve covers, better skewers, and a SRAM chain. But overall this bike preforms just as well as some $1200 dual suspension bikes Ive rode, ya things like the breaks, shifting, and weight might not be up to par with more expensive bikes but for me I it meets all my crosscountry and downhill riding needs. Great Buy!!!!!!

Strengths:the frame is amazing, unbreakable, the most comfortable with style and ability
Weaknesses:the brakes i have some problems, they stop me but not on downhill cources. so i am replacing them with hydralic brakes.
Similar Products Used:N/A
Bike Setup:all standard but i have replaced the tires and tubes.... but i have had it for more then 3 years now.....that is the longest a bike has lasted for me.
Bottom Line:Great bike, fun to ride looks great. the stock tires are great for me because i have about 12 miles to ride on the road before i make it to trails. it gives a smooth ride. it also preforms highly on the offroad trails

Date Reviewed: March 22, 2007
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $500.00
Strengths:Durable frame
Rigid rear suspension mechanism
Weaknesses:Deraillers are crappy (Acera), rims are total crap either. Chain is an awful piece of sh*t, too. Front suspension is too soft.
Bike Setup:Shimano LX deraillers, trip computer, new grips, a good chain :)
Bottom Line:A totally unbreakable frame is a definite plus. Wheels needed a complete overhaul right after purchase, and now perform well. LX deraillers with the bike's native Acera shifters work nicely, and I like acera shifters more than, say, deore or something like that. I was going to replace the front fork with something more serious if it broke, but it just won't die, so it stays for now.
The bike is quite heavy, too. Not very good for bunnyhopping, etc.

Strengths:Frame is unbreakable
Weaknesses:Handlebars, grips, swingarm, crankset, brakes, rims, seatpost, suspension.
Bike Setup:specialized tyres, BBB handlebars, shimano acera rear deralier, shimano hollowpoint crankset.
Bottom Line:The parts on this bike are cheap theirfore they need to be replaced after a short period of time. my swingarm is bent and the deralier had to be replaced after it got tangled in the spokes. crankset stripped although it was always tight in a matter of months. bottom line, this bike is a piece of junk..

Favorite Trail:Little Dry Creek
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $488.00
Purchased At:Dick's Sporting Goods
Strengths:Quiet solid operation. Actually, this is the 2006 model, the Wing Elete Pro. Front suspension doesn't bottom out easily - you really have to try to get it to bottom out.
Weaknesses:Disk brakes tend to drag a little - just enough that you can hear it, not enough to slow the bike down. Rear suspension could be a little softer or at least have a greater range of adjustment.
Similar Products Used:Other dual suspension mountain/all-terrain bikes and of course a street bike.
Bike Setup:Right out of the box plus added light brackets, toe clips (required a pedal change), Slime in the tires, bar ends, and later a small "computer" (otherwise known as a fancy speedometer).
Bottom Line:If you have ever ridden a cheaper model and then up-graded to something like this, you won't believe the difference. To be sure, Dick's can't set up a bike to save their life, but after you tweak the deraileurs and a few other things, it operates rather well. I could swear that it even rolls easier than my cheaper mountain bike. Real bottom line? If this got stolen, I would buy another one.

Strengths:The headset, and ahh... the handlebars, i cant think of much that is GREAT its all pretty average. Oh the rear shock is not felt as much as it has bottomed out :) Its also squishy to ride and easy to change weight on and stuff. Its a easy bike to wheelie on with its rear shock and all.
Weaknesses:The forks: Bottom out occationally.

Brakes: My back brake is stuffed. but front is only a little contaminated :)

Rear swingarm: BENT from a friends jumping crash

Rear Derailleur: i got it replaced after it was thrown into the spokes.
Similar Products Used:none :(
Bike Setup:Maxxis Holloy roller tyres :D
Shimano Deore XT Rear Deralleur
Motocross Grips
Bottom Line:This bike is very good to me because i do not take care of it. I like to do tricks that put incredible force on its frame and it still holds fine. It suits the jumps i do (BIG considering i did motocross) and great value for money as a cross country/ recreation bike. although a wannabe like me almost cried when i saw a mother riding a wing SUPER... so saying that, i think people with more experience should go for a stronger bike. (hardtail all the way i say)

Strengths:great brakes that work very well as long as you dont squeeze front too hard:,)great starter suspension to handle small jumps roots and rocks, good all around and cool look
Weaknesses:seat stem needs immediate cutting as to not hit the suspension if you lower it, SEAT IS VERY UNCOMFTORABLE!! so it needs a gel cusion
Similar Products Used:Fuji mountain bike, specialized mountain bike
Bike Setup:stock, cut seat post, added gel cusion to uncomftorable seat
Bottom Line:AWSOME bike for the price, i havn't had problems with the rims, even after smashing into a tree and jumping up curves all the time, disk brakes work incredible in wet or muddy conditions, suspension is good, great beginner bike or even for a racer with some small modifications

Favorite Trail:construction yards
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $340.00
Purchased At:Dicks
Strengths:Strong. It's taken a lot of abuse. I ride it probably 100 mi. per week. I ride it a lot at nearby construction yards, my favorite is going down hills made of the dirt they dig out to make ponds. I'm yet to find terrain it can't handle. After some adjustment, the rear shifter is very smooth in all gears.
Weaknesses:The tubes the shifter cables go into. They don't let the cable slide easily. Also, I bent the front rim a bit when a neighbor kid ran into it going as fast as he could.
Similar Products Used:-
Bike Setup:Stock except shifter cables/tubes
Bottom Line:A good bike for the price. I got a good deal on it too. I'm hoping next year I can bring it to Colorado, there aren't many mountains in Kansas!

Strengths:Very solid bike all throughout. Nice front and rear suspension, very comfortable bike. Disk brakes are very strong, and the EZ shifters are nice. Gears work very well, and feels lice all around.
Weaknesses:THE RIMS. I just bought this bike yesterday, and i went up a 2 inch curb at an angle at 20 MPH, and the rims bent on me! Now i have to buy new ones because once the rims are bent slightly, the disk brakes dont function properly and a metallic screeching is heard.
Bike Setup:Dual suspension
Bottom Line:A very nice bike worth its value, for anyone who wants to have the professional ride for a cheap price. Before riding, i strongly recommend putting new rims.

Strengths:it is a nice bike for the beginner to intermediate rider that is relativly new to the sport or has a limited $$$. I thought that the bike felt relativly light and playful while riding esspeially on the flats. it climbs neatly, really felt confitent on those big up's.
Weaknesses:the bike really fell apart on me after about 4 months. it might be just because it really is designed as a bigginer bike and i rode it into the ground like maby 2 10+ mile rides a week plus a race every weekend in the spring.

the disc brakes really fell apart, i had to move the front one to the back and buy a new front(avid mec.,nice brake).also the suspenion dosen't work so great anymore it is a very low quality RST. I had to replace my bottom bracket because that was fryed after bout 3 months. it didn't seem to be very high quality. Also the pivits and screws looen up a lot so check them after every ride. i had one of the rotor things on the rear derailer come right off. Also the derailer wigglesso make sure its all tight.

On the downhills it really dosen't absorb the rocks and roots very well, not smooth at all in that area.
Similar Products Used:dimondback x-10
Bike Setup:stock w/time clipless(best clipless u can buy)and all the new stuff i talked about haveing to put on the replace the broken parts.
Bottom Line:i'm giving this 4 for the value because it is a great first bike for riders with parts that fit the price range and a overall light bike. Altough i am giving it a three for overall rating because of how it fell apart on me.

Bottom line is this is definetly not a downhill or trail bike of any sort. It is not for the rider who is used to great componets either. If u are a rider who has not riden on expensive stuff, like me when i bought it u won't notice any of my complaints. Hell, i didn't untill i tryed out friends bikes and got into the whole mtn bike world. I even did good in races with it. In the begginers division off course for my first year racing. If your not very experienced give it a try, i know you will like it.

Strengths:looks, prettylight frame, nice grippy pedals lots of attention in contrey(disk brakes)
Weaknesses:componentry sucks, but it does the job, shock very spongy, comes with thin tyres.
Similar Products Used:diamondback ? hard tail
Bike Setup:wire speedo(vdo)pump bracket and rear mud guard
Bottom Line:mate, this bike can take a major beating and is great for a downhill comp bike or just a fun bike, it can bounce with spongy springs but thats not always good. componenty poor and the disks take for ever to set as you want them.
since im 14 i tend to make the bike go to its limits. i recemend this bike to anyone who want to be a downhiller. but change the componentry as soon as you can, i havent.

Strengths:Solid bike holds up to a good pounding (200+ rider) I've always liked Mongoose bikes even though they're no longer top of the line bikes.
Weaknesses:RST shocks (front and rear)a little too cushiony, I've had to adjust the preload to the max. They've since been replaced.
Bike Setup:WTB moto raptor 2.4", race face diablous neck, easton bar, rock shox Duke w/lock out, rock shox super deluxe rear shock, Rhyno DH rims and XTC hubs, just purchased Hayes hydraulic disc brakes.
Bottom Line:A good begginer's bike. When upgraded with quality parts it becomes competitive with more expensive bikes.Disk brakes are great, but rims lasted about 3 weeks. Too bad its a little heavy, but so am I.
