Date Reviewed: August 23, 2009
Favorite Trail:70% Street / 30% Trail
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Purchased At:was on bike
Strengths:Lasts very long. Cheap.
Weaknesses:Looses grip if inflated close to max preasure.
Similar Products Used:Continental Speed King
Bike Setup:Renault Sport - Team Spirit VTT
Bottom Line:They are quite good allround tires. On Road or on Trail they perform quite well. you should not inflate them too high as they start to loose grip. Weight is around 600g which is OK. I had two (One is still my front tire). My back tire was damaged by a piece of a glass bottle (cut through). I give them 3 Chilis as there are for sure better tires for sportive purposes but they are good for everyday riding.

Date Reviewed: September 10, 2008
Favorite Trail:Spring Lake
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $30.00
Purchased At:Local Bike Shop
Strengths:Great Traction
Weaknesses:Could be wider. Could have bigger knobs for grip.
Similar Products Used:Kenda and Specialized brand tires
Bike Setup:2001 Rockhopper A1 FS. With Avid BB7 Mechanical Disc brakes, mavic cross roads wheelset, Easton EA50 bars, specialized grips.
Bottom Line:Recommended for normal trail. If you are doing very muddy trails I would look into a higher end tire with more knobs and wider stance.

Date Reviewed: October 27, 2007
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Strengths:It's light with low rolling resistance.
Weaknesses:It can't grip roads well even when you're cycling on city trail. Also, it's not durable!
Similar Products Used:N/A
Bike Setup:Hardtail XC
Bottom Line:It works well during onroad section.
In order to get a better grip power, you MUST pump it to minimum psi! Otherwise, it works like a slick tire.
Higher psi makes you do drift easily.
Not recommend for offroad us.

Favorite Trail:i like surprises
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Purchased At:ebay
Strengths:nice, light tire.
Weaknesses:tread wear
Similar Products Used:i've never gone through tread this quick
Bike Setup:motobecane f/s . funf, one piece bar/stem. vuelta wheels.hayes 9. rock shox yada, yada
Bottom Line:i ride xc and commute. blew through rear tread in ONE MONTH! about 20-40 miles of trail riding and 400 miles on concrete. as far as i can tell, this is a great tire if you load up your bike on back of your suv 4 times a year and ride a couple of miles on an easy trail.worthless for those of you who live on your bikes.

Submitted by Lowell a Cross Country Rider from Brunswick, ME
Date Reviewed: July 30, 2007
Favorite Trail:Bradbury mountain: Gin
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $30.00
Purchased At:Bikeman
Strengths:Awesome reliable tire. Good flat resistance, good grip. Long tread life.
Weaknesses:Weight? I'm not even sure about that.
Similar Products Used:Michelin wildgripper, stock specialized, hutchinson mosquito air light.
Bike Setup:1997 jamis dakar sport, lx/xt drivetrain, manitou skareb, cane creek ad10, crossmax/crossride. v brakes.
Bottom Line:I just found out this is a "casual" recreational tire....and i've been riding and racing XC with it....ooops. I love michelin tires, and this one is no exception. It has held up well in the rooty, rocky Maine trails and several xc races. It has also lasted longer in the rear than my hutchinson mosquito air lite has in the front (that tells you something!) Maybe I could be getting way better grip with other tires and I just don't know it, but these country trail tires have treated me well. Their performance seems to exceed their purpose.

Submitted by Stan a Weekend Warrior from Hungary
Date Reviewed: October 2, 2006
Duration Product Used:3 months
Strengths:Works from dusty trails to light mud. Forget on wet road.
Weaknesses:Your life is in danger when you use this tire on wet asphalt. In fact i have the half-wet version. It's like on ice! Awesome effect! Congratulation for Michelin :) !
Similar Products Used:several panaracer, maxxis, conti tires
Bike Setup:simple XC bike
Bottom Line:Only tried the half-wet one, so the other ones can be good, but this is instant danger... You can't avoid the roads man...
