Favorite Trail:The one I'm on!
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $200.00
Purchased At:That shop in Belfast
Strengths:Good fit, stiff, light.
Weaknesses:Look like moon shoes, pricey!
Similar Products Used:A cross between a Sidi and a normal trail shoe. I have not found any comparable shoes.
Bike Setup:Mojo SL.
Bottom Line:These Mavic shoes are terrific. Very stiff carbon sole fits true to size, excellent fit ( I bought a uk 10, wear a 45 and 10.5 us) and easy to use. I was skeptical about the two velcro straps but they are very secure and easy to use. The fit is somewhat narrow, very form fitting for a trail shoe and there is very little if any heellift. I did add a pair of green superfeet insoles.

Shoe is very light and come with weatherproof overboots and two sets of cleat guards which are way stiffer and more useful than the Crank Brothers shoe shields.
The sole has plenty of tread and is fairly comforatable for hiking, (more comfort than a Sidi but less than an eva hiking/mbt shoe).
The shoes seem well made (even though made in China). I have found no flaws in the wokmanship or offences to my feet as with most other china-made shoes. I have gone to buying two pairs of china shoes like Shimano and Pearl Izumi because at least half of all shoes made in china are garbage, and cant be worn!

The only drawback is the outward style which looks like a 60's B movie space shoe, and the cleat adaptor screw inserts are quite loose and float around a bit and are a little difficult to use. But not a big problem, once screws are inseted adjustement is fine!

These are a good shoe for someone who wants a high performance shoe that one can actually hike in (a little). Much stiffer than an average trail shoe, better for walking than a race shoe!

Disclaimer- I only have 30 miles or so on the shoe and they perform great...so far.
