Favorite Trail:the shed; the shore
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $58.00
Purchased At:rbay
Strengths:Price - cheaper than borscht on ebay! Looks are tight, has both brake options (just in case); strong, light enough & decent travel for my style of X country
Weaknesses:Stickers peel - sure. For the price, it would be silly to whine about anything
Similar Products Used:Rock Shox Quadra; Suntour Sh'ite on the wife's bike; lefty thing on a Jeckyl; something DH on a rental @ whistler...
Bike Setup:Rocky Mountain Element; XT/XTR; Magura Hyd rim brakes; bombers; race face below; syncros up front; etc.
Bottom Line:Great fork for the $$$; recommend them to anyone who can get a sweet deal; of course there are better out there - there always will be. But this fork is more than you could want when you have the champagne taste with a milk budget. This review came from a smoke free house.

Favorite Trail:to much to say!!
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Purchased At:came with bike.. bike $1899 (cdn)
Strengths:very durable, nice and soft, not to heavy
Weaknesses:only 100 mm, so I bottem out alot
Similar Products Used:DJ 3's
Bike Setup:2002 Kona roast, vee ruber stout 2.6 tires,
Bottom Line:very good shock, my only complaint is the amount of travel. I use this fork for free riding, dirt jumping and that kind of stuff, I also use it for XC racing and the weight of the shcok isnt bad it is just the weight of the bike (40 pounds!) one other thing i dont like is that i bottem out off of most drops!! but other than that it is an awsome shock, i recomend the shock to people who race xc and light freeriding

ps does anybody know if a 2005 all mountain 1 would be a good shock to upgrade to?

Favorite Trail:Ft. d
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $200.00
Purchased At:oem off norco.
Strengths:plush, and smooth. Good looks, great 100mm travel fork for all-mountain xc. Goes a long time with little maintenance + simple to maintain when needed.
Weaknesses:REbound adjustment other than oil wt. change.
Similar Products Used:manitou xvert. rock shox judy.
Bike Setup:kona bear, avid disc, sun rims, deore dt, titec cp.
Bottom Line:This is just a really well made fork that will take some serious aggressive xc riding, I've raced, dj'd, done moderate DH, and freeride all on this beast and it still rocks. Done 5 ft. to flat and don't bottom out. Thought several times about replacing it, but just can't find good enough reasons. You know, if it ain't broken... Greatest thing about it is, I hate doing maintenance and this fork is so easy to maintain it ridiculous. If you want a sweet all around fork, easy to maintain, and cheap, look know where else. Favorite Trail:Issaqueena Trail
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $92.00
Purchased At:Ebay
Strengths:plush, looks cool, hard to bottom out, strong, light, cheap
Weaknesses:The decals probably will peal off after a while, who cares??? Some times it makes a squish noise, but it only rarely does that.
Similar Products Used:RST crappa CL - and whatever junk they put on walmart bikes (ground assault or something like that)
Bike Setup:2003 gary fisher advance - deore, xt, marzocchi
Bottom Line:I got a hella good deal on it for 92 bucks including shipping. It is one sweet fork. It preforms like a much more expensive fork. Much better than rock shox and manitou in the same price range, or even more expensive ones. Avoid if you are one of those crazy downhillers, but its awesome for aggressive cross country and pretty much anything else.

Weaknesses:115 pound friend (owner) snapped the arch in half when landed on the front tire.
Similar Products Used:Rockshox SID SL, Judy TT, Judy XC

Bottom Line:It's my friends bike but I ride it sometimes. It's a great fork. Very stiff (somehow the arch snapped). It seems like more travel than 100mm. It has been jumped off 5.5 foot ledges, and 13 foot gaps. Love the fork.

Favorite Trail:Sidewinder at Hardwood Hills
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $150.00
Purchased At:Ski N' Cycle Hut
Strengths:Since it is an air fork it is noticeably lighter that its coil-oil bath counter parts. Easy access to adjusting PSI level in the fork chambers. Overall design and graphics make it look really good. Supports the mounting of either V-brakes or Disc brakes. Durable fork. Adjustable. Another strength is its price to value ratio.
Weaknesses:Since it is an air fork you require a shock pump to re-fill it which, can be a bit of a pain if you let to much air out. It is adjustable to a point but it is not fully adjustable like some of the other forks around.
Similar Products Used:Roc Shox Judy TT
Bike Setup:2002 Oryx T-Line 125, Hayes Hydraulic Disc Brakes, Sun Ryno Lite Rims, Deore Rear Derailleur, Alivio Front Derailleur, Shimano PD-M515 peddles.
Bottom Line:The bottom line is this.....if you want a fork that is not super heavy, very decent amount of travel, somewhat adjustable, looks good, and is a quality product for a good price then look no further. The 2002 Marzocchi Bomber EXR more than meets all of the above mentioned criteria.

Favorite Trail:Sac River
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $150.00
Purchased At:PricePoint.com
Strengths:Solid, rigid, low-maintanance, relaible, affordable.
Weaknesses:Heavy, I think about 4.5 pounds?
Similar Products Used:RockShox Quadra 5, RST
Bike Setup:Trek 7000
Bottom Line:I desperately needed an upgrade for my 46mm Quadra 5 but I my budget was severely limited. I hunted around and once I found this deal (100mm version), I knew it was the answer. Also, I weigh 250 so I needed something strong. I can't imagine how you can do any better for the money.

So far, it's saved my butt a few times. There have been a few situations where I would have been dead with my old fork, such as coming into a 3' drop to flat and having to slow down at the last second for the rider in front of me and then coming down hard on the front wheel. I not only avoided a crash, the fork soaked up most of the jolt and came away unscathed. As for the lack of adjustments, perhaps someday I might care more about that, but for now I just want a fork that's reliable and worry-free. This one rides great and I come home with a big smile after I use it to bomb downhill through rocky sections of the trail.

Buy this fork if you ride light to agressive XC, maybe some **light** freeriding, but don't have a fit if it doesn't hold up to real hucking. Also recommended for clydesdales wondering what coil fork will hold up rock-solid. I'll give it 4 stars overall because I'm sure there's better forks out there for people that will spend bigger bucks, but I wish I could give it a 10 for value.

Bike Setup:Custom HT with XT Componets
Bottom Line:If you want a Free ride fork look elsewhere. This is a good fork for agessive XC riding. I'am not a racer so weight and adjustability is not an issue for me. What I look for in a fork is reliability and good bump soaking performance for my 200 pound body.

The 100mm of travel soaks up the bump like butter. For the money I don't think you can find a better fork!

Purchased At:cambia bicycle outfitter
Strengths:Low price, looks, durability, company name, effectiveness
Weaknesses:Not able to fine tweak the damping/rebound but since I don't race, its no big deal.
Similar Products Used:Rock shox, manitou
Bike Setup:the way it needs to be for me.
Bottom Line:This is an above average fork for the money. Some people might dwell on the inability to fine tune the adjustments but for me, I don't want to be tweaking and comparing all the time and I don't need to with this fork. This fork is solid, reliable and not only talks the talk but walks the walk, which makes me support Marzocchi and their products. I weigh 210 and thought I'd have to swap out the coils like every other rok shox I've had but not with this EXR, works great and I've only got it cranked down halfway. I'm not a ballerina, I hit drops hard and I can't bunny hop worth a foofoos taildroppings so I run over just about everything and this fork holds up. I don't have the money to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on every bike part so at this price for this fork is an excellant bargain. I'm impressed with it.

Weaknesses:Long Break-in, Non-adjustable
Similar Products Used:Tange Prostruts, '97 Judy DH

Bottom Line:The forks had a bit of seal friction at first but after repeated Silicone spray applications and 14 months use, the forks really smoothed out. I could use some adjustability (rebound too slow at speed) and they do foam up a bit after 30 minutes or so (need HCSV cartridges) but the forks are reliable and plush so far. TIP: place bike upside-down to wet seals before riding, it really gets things moving!

Strengths:Smooth and sturdy. uses full travel regularly. it bottoms out a lot but normally i cant tell till i look at the tie around the stachions.
Weaknesses:stiff at beggining of stroke (but getting better) can bottom out loudly occasionally
Similar Products Used:Rox Shox indy's
Bike Setup:stock norco charger
Bottom Line:so far i really like it. i ride a mix of technical XC trails and do alot of jumping around off of stairs and walls. i find it uses all of its travel without you knowing its bottoming. im gonna lower the air pressure and add oil to make it softer at the start and be more progressive at the end, that should make it amazing.
im not sure how much they cost cause they came with the bike but seem like a great fork i would recommend to almost anyone below top level racing. resonably light, plenty of smooth travel, low maintinence.

Bottom Line:This fork is has blown me away. I originally bought it on a XC bike. Then I got into freeriding with it. I was going over a pretty big jump, and totally cased it and landed HARD on my front wheel. It was at a weird angle that ended up breaking my Norco Charger frame IN HALF! But, even though the frame broke, the EXR survived, and now I use it on my new Freeride frame. This fork is great for beginners, and for medium Freeriding. Great all around fork! I love it!

Bottom Line:For the price this is an excellant fork. Don't let the nere-do-wells that scratch their stanchions and brake their forks kid you -- Marzocchi has great customer service -- and frankly you would have to run over this fork with a bulldozer to break the steerer/crown unit - and even then Marzocchi would probably replace it free or at a righteous price! For the $$ there simply is not a better fork.

Strengths:This is a great fork when set up and running
Weaknesses:This is not a great fork when it loses all its oil on the left leg
Similar Products Used:Rock Shox, and Marz Atom Bomb
Bike Setup:Giant Rainier 2002
Bottom Line:It worked great until it lost its oil on the left leg. I turned it in for warranty work since it is only about five months old. This fork had no rough riding, big drops or crashes, but Marzocchi wouldn't honor their warranty, only stating that there was a scratch on the fork leg that caused it to leak. How did the scratch get their? I have no idea. In fact I didn't see one on the visable part of the leg at all upon my inspection before turning it in, also there are no fork boots on this model. Marzocchi said that they weren't needed. I still feel that they should honor their warranty because the bike was not abused. They should at least warn owners of a potential problem. This problem--the replacing of the leg and seals is going to cost $80. This is a lot of money for an under $200 fork.

A company that has a reputation for quality should stand behind their new products. My other fork, the Atom Bomb (with fork boots) has over 10,000 miles on it with only a replacement of seals and is still running great. I know that the A-Bomb is a much more expensive fork but Marzocchi should learn that good customer service brings back customers and new ones too.

Are you reading this Marzocchi?

Price Paid: $184.00
Purchased At:Pricepoint
Strengths:beefier stanchions (30 mm) Longer travel than the stock Duke C (100 vs 63 mm) Coil springs were right on for me (200 lbs.), better than air for trailbike, light freeride
Weaknesses:adjusters are under caps, which have to be pryed off to adjust
Similar Products Used:Jr.T (love it!), several Rockshox and Manitou also
Bike Setup:GT iDrive 4.0, mostly stock, (w/Fox rear) XT hubs on 517's
Bottom Line:I love the way the longer travel has altered the headtube angle. This bike should be much more comfortable on descents now. The stock springs were right on for me and I'm 200lbs. Bottom Line:for the dolla bills you lay down this fork is the spam meatballs in pork gravy. plush as can be but when you eventually work on the internals (i'm doin that soon) put some better oil in it. usually i use this for moderate freeriding (jumping off curbs) and beating off crack heads. 100 mm of travel has saved my life more than a few times on sketchy landings. it has fairly beefy dropouts, which is nice. there is no external adjustability but who cares really. it performs well enough. this fork is advertised as a "heavy duty cross country" but don't be fooled. this is not a cross country fork because it weighs more than one ounce. it is a light freeriding fork says me.
i have only bottomed it out four times in all the months i've ridden it, compare that to my friends ex-psylo which bottomed out when i looked at it. the bottom line is buy this fork if you do not have allot of money and hate spandex.

Bottom Line:THe fork came on the bike so i dont no what retail on it is, but it is a very good fork. Has enough travel for most people and seems strong enough to last (ive only had the bike for about a week). Only bad thing is that it flexes a little when u brake with avids (the best for the money). Definately choose these if your deciding on a bike, or go out and buy some. They are better than the judy. FOr the regular biker lookin for some adventure this is the fork to get.

Bottom Line:UPDATE FROM PREVIOUS REVIEW

Its offical that Marzocchi's Customer Support is God-like. I bought a bougus travel kit, but they showed me over the phone how to upgade the travel anyway. They took me step-by-step through it, W/O WAITING. Then when I was stupid and turned this bolt the wrong way very hard the bolt to the plunger shaft snapped! I got back on the phone and explained what happeded and asked to buy a new set of plunger shafts from them. At this point I have been on the phone at least 6 times with this guy, who is clearly trying very hard to help me. He syas hmmmmm... call back tommorow and Ill get you fixed up. So I am thinking god, The probably are going to have to order the shaft from out of the country and charge me a fourtune. I call back the next day and the guy asks for the serial number on the crown and my adress and stuff, and says he set up a plunger shaft for me and is sending it to me for FREE! He did all the work on it alredy so all I have to do is drop it in. FREE! It was my fault and they are sending me a new plunger rod for FREE! Thats what CS is all about, ROCKSHOX YOU COULD LEARN SOMETHING FROM THIS. In a couple days ill be riding around on a 100mm air fork insted of 80 :). MARZOCCHI RULES!!!! I recommend these forks to anyone who wants to MTB.

Purchased At:Gears
Strengths:looks great, hasn't broken yet, no much to brag about this fork in certain areas but as a whole it works very well, cheap price for what you get, Marzocchi name
Weaknesses:pre-load adjustment doesn't do much, may be a little on the soft side but you can get the coils changed to make is stiffer, takes quiet a big bumb to get the fork to move down to take the hit, when hitting small bumps the fork stays still making it ride like a rigid
Similar Products Used:Judy TT, Psylo XC
Bike Setup:2002 Kona Stuff
Bottom Line:Great fork, taking 5 foot to flat(asphault) drops no problem, good rebound(I find most forks too slow), If you are just getting into biking (pretty much any kind of biking) this is a great fork for you

Bottom Line:AWSOME: its super smooth and is fairly progressive. Its stiff and bottoms really soft bottoming out.The one time I have bottomed out was with one fork leg at 25 psi and the other one deflated. The 80 mm travel isnt enough but there is a kit you can buy to upgrade to 100.Also try putting in better oil. Im going to tyr rockshox 5 wt oil and lets see.

Bike Setup:Giant Rannier SE
Bottom Line:This came on my Giant Rannier, and after a lengthy break-in period and carefully adjusting the air, I have found it to flat out rock. Have taken some big hits, no problems. It can be a little flexy side to side causing a slight bit of disk break rub, but lots of forks have that problem.

Five flaming foo-foos for this one!
