from uk Date Reviewed: August 15, 2002 | | Duration Product Used: | More than 3 years | | Strengths: | Smooth action, pretty strong, simple, cheap! | | Weaknesses: | Really bad seals, no adjustment, not very substantial | | Similar Products Used: | rs boxxer, original z1s, manitou x verts | | Bike Setup: | 99-00 orange misisle | | Bottom Line: | Ive had these forks for a while, theyve been on two different bikes. I got one of the first pairs to come into the uk and frankly at first glance i was gutted, no damping adjustment what so ever, came standards with around 20wt oil, spindly legs, etc. They sucked for the first few rides and where ever i left them a pool of oil formed around the front wheel due to leakage from pretty much every seal. I replaced the oil with 7.5wt and this improved them no end, giving a really good feel, similar to the old z1s. Ive been unable to run disks on them due to the ammount of oil leakage recently, so theyre currently in getting new seals and bushings, this was probably well over due mind! Theyve put up with 3 years of abuse well mind and i would recomend them to anyone, especially the new 5-6inch ones.

The XL just next to the Jr.T. A lot of new bikes these days are coming with the XL and all you have to do is ask the sales rep to swap it out for the Jr.T, it's as simple as that.Join the Rebelion!! I recently put a Jr T on my 98 Klein Mantra and this fork rules! Its super plush on small hits and really soaks up the large ones when you're bangin. Gives me the extra confidence that I can recover from anything! Steering is extra precise too. Had to install the heaviest spring right from the start(but I do weigh 220lbs)and the reported bobing that the fork does uphill has been greatly exagerated. Thed one negative is no external compression or rebound dampening, however, RCRracing has a coilover cartridge coming out for Jr T on June 1. This Bomber is Da Bomb! | Overall Rating: |

Built these forks to a 98 Specialized FSR late last year. When set up right they rock! No picking lines here just lose your brakes and attack. Not as techy as Mr T's but SSV damping works just as well. Seals are absolutely brilliant. Heard about travel upgrades, could use an extra inch - let me know. Get a pair. | Overall Rating: |

I bought these a couple of months ago. Small hits were super-plush but on consecutive big fast hits the fork wasn't sensitive enough because of the damping system, it felt poor cos the harder you hit, the more the compression damping was increased....not good, it almost felt like a rigid fork. However! I changed the weight of the oil and ay carumba what a transformation! This fork now performs in a big way. I say buy some, slap lighter oil in them and get ready to roost. Superb. | Overall Rating: |

I don't own a set of these forks but I've ridden Chris's (the guy at the top of the lists) bike - he's got the six inch thing happening and they are truely awesome. I've got the sweetest set of Z1's and the modified JR T's are just as plush but with 150mm of travel. The only draw back is that there is a little bit more play in the stanchion/leg bushing but this is impossible to notice while riding. As soon as I can afford to buy a set of Jr T's I'll get this mod. I seriously recommend that anyone outthere with Jr T's already DO IT! | Overall Rating: |

Take out the 15mm negitave spring and replace it with a 3mm rubber washer and you will get 1/2 more travel. We are just trying out a modification to get 5-6 of travel so they will feel like super T's. This fork is as good as mr T's and 1/2 as much. VERY COOL | Overall Rating: |
