the qr20 is weird, its looks ugly, 100mm of travel, stiff as hell with no "pop" or wutever. is impossible to get the right amount of air in it, rebound adjust does next to nothing, bottoms easily, HEAVY, i can go on and on

this fork is cheap and 04 is not the year for it i havent ridden the 05 but the 04 is no good. u no theres sommething rong when a 66 vf2, a FR/DH fork, is better at djing then a actual dj fork. the adjustments are hard to use and when u play around with them u can hardly notice them. in my opinion you get what you pay for and when a fork is only $300 your not going to get anything good my dirt jam comp is just as good as this and its only $100 so its not even really a good cheap fork. i wouldnt reccomend this fork to anyone really not even a DJer i dont know much about dj fork so i cant reccomend another one

Stiff design, plush travel, low maintenance, versatile, very dependable and consistent, good looks.
Weaknesses:
Glad to see Marzocchi got rid of their QR20 style dropouts for 2005. They are functional but finicky to deal with. It would be nice to have adjustable compression along with the rebound.
This fork is perfect for my riding style. 110mm of travel is ideal for DJ, light freeriding and urban. I also do a bit of cross country with it, though it is heavy and overbuilt for that application. If I want it plush, it can be plush; if I want it firm, it can be firm and all by changing just a few psi in the preload. Rebound adjustment is nice to be able to adjust externally. I am very impressed with Marzocchi's workmanship and long-lasting quality. I will not be buying another brand again unless that quality changes. I would give it five chilies in the value rating if it had compression adjustment in addition to the rebound.

EVERYTHING: How the heck can these people talk about how heavey it is when the thing wont break. They go hand in hand heavey/strong. I dont understand how u people ride manitou for dj or freeriding they flex ALOT. I ride manitou for xc cause they flex it gives you a more vibration free cockpit. The DJ 1's are the best all around fork anywhere.
Weaknesses:
The only thing that is kind of anoying is the QR20. It's called quick release but it takes longer to put the wheel on than it takes to put a nutted hub on.

Dissapointed with constant breaking of the crown. The first time Marzocchi upgraded my DJ 2's with DJ 1's and 6 mos. later the same thing happened. I've switched to Shermans, but too early to see if they will hold up better. If you only use the DJ's for Urban and DJing than I'm sure they will hold up, but if you Freeride than get something else.

Freeking sweet... my friend has 35 PSI and it is as stiff as a monster, but it tops out and has NO sag (not good by the way). The ride was unpleasantly stiff. I suggest testing out different pressures so that you still get the proper sag and stiffness you're looking for. Very adjustable too! I would suggest buying a DJ III if you are looking for a no frills tough ass DJ fork that is very affordable.

the forks look real good they are exceptionally smooth they never bottom out. quite adjustable as smooth as you like when you are jumping very cheap for me, as the insurance payed for the rest. incredably stiff. because of the qr20
Weaknesses:
the rebound adjuster knob fell off, they click at the mo but they havent fully bedded in yet. a tad heavy, but it just helps to get the front end down when noisediving a double. i find it hard to take the wheel out, because of the qr20

this fork is badda$$. i bought it from a guy who didn't like the weight, but the benefits of the chromoly stanchions is worth it. these forks are so responsive and tunable that i never have to ease off the front end. if you're hard on forks or just like something as rigid as bill clinton's cigar, lay down the big dollars and buy these!
