$180.00 | | Strengths: | VERY light frame, about 10 lbs. very smooth, strong fork. | | Weaknesses: | The paint scratches rather easily, but thats it. | | Bike Setup: | Vram derailled, other than that, it's pretty much stock. | | Bottom Line: | Very good bike for the price I payed for it, been going down drops for almost a year... no problems yet. Easily upgradeable. Nothing beats being able to carry your bike 3 miles.
Good buy. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$300.00 | | Purchased At: | sports chalet | | Strengths: | A very strong but lightweight frame and very good components for the low price. | | Weaknesses: | I have not had many so far but the tiers will start to wareout after about 2 to 3 months of hard use and the paint scratches veary eaisly. | | Similar Products Used: | Dimondback apex,Freeagent eluder | | Bike Setup: | marin coustom insync323 shocks, shimno archa rear derailler, truvative x flow crank set, kenda coyote tiers. | | Bottom Line: | A grate bike for cross country riders who are never going to do anything more than a two to three foot jump or drop off and do not want to spend alot of money on fancy equipment. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$300.00 | | Purchased At: | sun and ski sports | | Strengths: | Light Frame, Good Brakes | | Weaknesses: | Shifting problems, chain falls off regularly while going up hills, spent almost $100 to get bike shop to insure chain didnt fall off and bike shifted correctly, Marin does not stand by their product the way other reputable bike companys do | | Similar Products Used: | specialized rockhopper | | Bike Setup: | changed shifters to hand shifters | | Bottom Line: | I should have spent an additional $200 and gotten a good bike, this bike needs constant adjustment to gears and brakes, certainly better than a wal-mart or target special but not by very much, I would not by another MARIN bicycle | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$300.00 | | Purchased At: | pennysport cycles | | Strengths: | excellent frame, overall finish, great bike for new rider. (i have been away from bikes for about 15 years) love the tight handling and light frame, none of the hard ride from aluminium frame i had expected. | | Weaknesses: | no weakness considering the lovely frame you get for your money. i intend to fit some marzocchi exr forks, so i guess i could have gone up a model to start with! | | Similar Products Used: | only my giant rincon, but that was some years ago when all the bikes were cromolly and cantilever brakes were new! | | Bike Setup: | stock standard with insync 323 forks which are only just adequate for a beginner but soon outgrown. the rest of the bike is fine as is for general xc work | | Bottom Line: | a much nicer bike than i expected, i am now addicted and was very grumpy while it was away for a weekend getting its free service. excellent value. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$290.00 | | Strengths: | Light, fast, a great entry level bike that won't kill your wallet. | | Weaknesses: | Acera Deraileur work but not terribly well, you'll get some ghost shifting a bit. V-brakes are a bit squeaky but stop rather well. | | Similar Products Used: | GT Avalanche 3.0 | | Bike Setup: | Simple | | Bottom Line: | Light, inexpensive bike - a great starter that you can upgrade with better parts as you get more serious. The frame is really light and totally rocks! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
