Price Paid: $170.00
Strengths:so plush. plenty of travel. pedals very good for how plush the travel is.
Weaknesses:ummm...i guess the steering radius is greatly reduced. who cares. hell, even the logos are embossed so there arent any stickers to get all scratched up.
Similar Products Used:manitou black, flicks, lots of single crowns
Bike Setup:sette relic, sherman slider, saint cranks, singletracks, blah blah
Bottom Line:buy this fork. i was somewhat hesitant to buy a dual crown due to the weight but it doesnt weight alot more than the rest of the sherman line anyway (which are all nice forks) and it feels amazing.

Favorite Trail:Rat Pack
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $350.00
Purchased At:Greenfish Adventure Sports
Strengths:Very stiff. Good dampening adjustments. Very light for a DC.
Weaknesses:Even for XC, a headlock is a must have. The starnut will not keep these tight.
Similar Products Used:Z1 QR20
Bike Setup:Ells Id, Romic, XT/XTR, Hope Bulbs, Hayes Hydros
Bottom Line:The max travel that my Id is speced for is 6", so these forks were the ticket. I originally splurged and expected to use these as my Whistler/North Shore fork with the idea of swapping back to my Z1 for everything else. Except for the lack of any travel limiter, a QR front axle, and the reduced turning radius (hey, this is a DC), I have absolutely no intention of going back to the SC Z1. Yes, even for XC.

These forks are awesome. Tremendous confidence builder. They have saved my hide on more than a couple of occasions :-).

One more note. Out of the box the compression dampening adjustment made no noticeable difference. After fiddling around a bit with the rebound adjustments, the compression adjustments started working.

Bottom line, I love these forks!

Purchased At:bikeroom.com
Strengths:Very Plush. Strong. Not too tall
Weaknesses:None so far
Similar Products Used:Marzocchi Z1 Dropoff
Bike Setup:Stiffee, Slider, Race Face everything, etc....
Bottom Line:Perfect match for my hardtail. Gives me a little more suspension without wrecking the geometry. It's loads better than the Z1 I was using (even though the Z1 is a very nice fork). Perfect setup for the North Shore. 5 chilies.

Price Paid: $599.00
Strengths:-durable
-plush
-hex axel
-TCP+ works well
-light weight
-very tweakable
-inexpensive spring :)
-not very tall
Weaknesses:none really
-maybe higher service intervals than a Zokie
-not tall enough for some geometry
Similar Products Used:Z1, Z3, 02 JuniorT, 02 Monster, 03/04 SuperT, 04 Silder +
Bike Setup:03 AC2
Bottom Line:Very happy with the tunability and overall performance of this fork. Tracks straight and true. If you are over 180lbs or go big you may want to consider a Firm or XtraFirm ride kit. I'd pick TPC+ over SPV at this point in time or go with a SuperT.

Favorite Trail:Porcupine Rim
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $350.00
Purchased At:Greenfish Adventure Sports
Strengths:Very stiff
Fork doesnt blow through its travel
TPC+ is incredible
LIGHTWEIGHT-6.3lbs: Manitou knows how to make the lightest, yet strongest forks
Weaknesses:None that matter. The rebound and compression adjustments dont do very much compared to marzocchi, but I don't really care.
Similar Products Used:marzocchi
Bottom Line:I got this fork for an amazing deal. If you are looking at upgrading your 5 inch fork with a dual crown, this is it. I can hardly tell the difference in weight and axle-to-crown height compared with my old 5 inch fork. This fork is only a half inch longer than most 5 inch forks, so it is perfect for those who want more travel, but don't want that chopper feel. This fork is perfect!

Favorite Trail:Any singletrack...
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $500.00
Purchased At:Atomic Bikes
Strengths:Super Beefy Construction, Way Stiff, Alot of adjustment, really really plush.
Weaknesses:none, maybe heavy but not for this amount of travel...bobbing on uphills, probably solved with the 04 Spv model...
Similar Products Used:rock shox boxxer, Manitou black elite, Xvert
Bike Setup:03 Bullit w/5th element, Xt drivetrain, Singlewide Rims, Grimeca Brakes
Bottom Line:After finally getting a softride kit in this fork ( I weigh about 145lbs), it is feeling very plush and responsive but at the same time very solid. This fork allows you to take the best lines with the utmost confidence. I was hesitant to buy a dual crown but after bombing down some rock gardens with this fork I'm convinced I made the right choice. with the 20mm thru axle this is really an awesome fork for this price. Feels alot better than the boxxers I test rode with the bullit. If you can find one on sale still, buy it and you won't regret it...

Favorite Trail:the steep one
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $465.00
Purchased At:JensonUSA
Strengths:stiffness, plushness, light weight
Weaknesses:only 6" travel, bottoms rather easily with stock springs
Similar Products Used:Stratos S7, '03 Jr-T
Bike Setup:bullit, profiles, doublewides etc etc
Bottom Line:After being so frustrated with leaky seals on my Stratos S7 I bought a barely used '03 Jr-T HUGE mistake, the dampening is a joke and performance at speed sucked. I heard that the Slider had similar dampening as the Dorado and the $465.00 price well..... now this is how a fork is supposed to feel! just as sweet at speed as my S7 but without the leaky seals and over a pound and a half lighter. It does bottom rather easy but nothing a set of the stiffer springs won't fix. I'll admit to never being a Manitou fan but so far I am very impressed with the stiffness and plushness. And best of all no oil all over the place! Sure, I wish I could have sprung for the '04 7" version but couldn't wait and couldn't afford. Perfect fit for my bullit

Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $400.00
Purchased At:Deep Cove Bike Shop
Strengths:Very stiff and light. TPC+ is very helpfull
Weaknesses:the stock springs are too soft and the turnig range isnt waide enough. the bushing are really easy to destroy.
Similar Products Used:Dorodo DH
Bike Setup:Kona stab primo, king headset XTR Race Face North shore's maxxis minions titec el norte saddle telescopic seat post purple hayes 321's
Bottom Line:Sick fork. Expensive. Neet to sell it cause its not strong enough and I only weigh 160ibs. need a shiver (I Hate Marzocchi) Manitou is king but they need a beefy fork for the real Freeriders from the freeride capital of the world (THE NORTH SHORE)

Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $600.00
Purchased At:THE BIKE HUB
Strengths:STIFF, LOOKS SICK, PLUSH, INSPIRES CONFIDENCE, DID I SAY PLUSH
Weaknesses:MY FORK ARRIVED BROKEN IN THE BOX (INTERNALS WERE ASSEMBLED WRONG), MY REBOUND KNOB STOPPED WORKING, THE PINCHBOLTS STRIP OUT TOO EASILY
Similar Products Used:SHIVER SC, BLACK 80/100
Bike Setup:UZZI SLX FOX RC, D321 WITH HAYES HUBS AND BRAKES 8" IN FRONT 6" IN REAR, PRO TAPERS AZONIC SHORTY 50mm, XT AND XTR COMPONENTS,
Bottom Line:OVERALL THIS FORK DOES WHAT IS DESIGNED FOR. I TAKES EVERYTHING I CAN THROW AT IT BUT I CAN BE IMPROVED. THE BUSHINGS ARE A LITTLE SLOPPY. FOR THE MONEY I WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT ANYTHING ELSE. DID I MENTION THAT IT IS PLUSH.

Favorite Trail:P.V. Del Cerro Park & Santa Monica Mtns
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $600.00
Purchased At:Helen's Cycle
Strengths:Beefy, smooth, so plush (SaDaTay). Takes all kinds of beatings/crashes. Looking for something simple with smooth action but yet TUFF this is it. Handles GREAT for all kinds of freeriding/DH stunts & conditions.
Weaknesses:N/A - NO PROBLEMS! It'll keep you riding and riding.
Similar Products Used:N/A You can't compare!
Bike Setup:'03 Santa Cruz Bullit w/5th Element. AtomicLabs w/Chris King Hubs slamming on Hayes 8in rotors, MRP/LRP, XTR all around, Thompson 50mmStem/Seatpost. T.H.E. jumping saddle, ODI's wrapped around Azonic UlraCross Bar for safety.
Bottom Line:It'll give you more confidence. Homeboy fits between the Dorado's SC & DH. All have the same internals (can't beat the internals) but the outside is the other way around. It'll go through technicals and switchbacks like it ain't nothing. It'll take Drops, Hucks, Jumps, Stairs, Etc. This thing is strong. Take offs won't let you down and landings are so SMOOTH! Pick it up and keep on riding.
