Good for light trail use e.g. Llandegla, bad for anything too heavy e.g. Morzine
Nice fork, beds in quickly, easy to setup, until... a UK Magura Service Centre gets hold of it.
Service centre were handed the forks cos the seals had started bleeding after a year and a half of reasonably frequent use (Llandegla black, Marin Trail, even local Wirral Way).
When I got them back, the rebound knob needed pliers to adjust it as it was so stiff, the Albert damping didn't work at first, and it had an inch less travel i.e. now 100mm ish rather than 130mm. After a month of trying to bed them in, took my bike off to the Alps and now Albert damping is impossible to switch on at all (too stiff) and worse still, the fork tops out badly, which is the last thing you need when you're hurtling down the side of a national DH course.
If I'd have rated these forks before I had them serviced, would probably have been 4 chilly-willys as only the Albert damping lever had proved problematic. Now, the forks are virtually unusable on rough terrain.

Magura is really coming on strong with this product. Overall a great product. Makes obstacles underneath the wheel disappear compared to my F100X. The Albert Select keeps the fork from bobbing, but harshens the ride a bit.
Can't wait to equip my other bike with a Magura product as well.

Strengths:
super stable during turns thanks to the dual arch design. extremely plush and high quality. they designed it perfectly and even the fork pump is highest quality. nice adjust ability but a compression knob would have been nice instead of having to use the Albert select.
Weaknesses:
fitting the wheel in with a disc on it can be a little tricky. if your running a hydraulic disc brake its a pain because the cable/hose guide isn't opened so you need to take the hose off the caliper, thread it through the guide, then reinstall it.

Magura have really come on leaps and bounds from their old "Rond" style forks. They will deserve the plaudits that they will aquire for these new breed of Magura forks. Fantastically designed, well built forks from the German brake miesters.
These forks will suit XC trail and singletrack riders and hard core huckers alike. For more aggresive riders and freeriders see the Wotan.
